Im trying to shines UV blacklight on my billy bookcases that have Funko Pops in them. Im looking for something that will make the blacklight glow but also charge my glow in the dark for when I turn the lights off. What would you recommend? The strips are a pain and the flood lights all seem to be misleading on the NM and heat displacement.

Ozone is only produced if you go below 240nm. A typical 254nm UV-C germicidal lamp does not produce ozone. But indeed, only use UV-C if you REALLY know what you're doing. It can cause a lot of damage.

My drivers license has the blacklight marking showing up with both 395 and 365. Though I know the UV wavelenghts are different from a UV test card I got.

I have 62 black light posters not to mention all the beads peace signs everything else, including a blanket that I'm crocheting out of 170 black light reactive tshirts. I haven't had to buy a new black light bulb in 30 years. I tried buying a couple that claimed to be black lights. Turns out extremely purple and white. The next two I bought were tubes and they won't stop flickering. Any help would be great. Bedroom is 16x13 , posters and other blacklight reactive stuff all over the room, including the ceiling. 💨🎵💨🎤💨👕💨🧶💨✌️

Do you realize that 365 nm black light gives off a weird burning smell when it hits the surface? I'm not sure what causes that.

OMG! I just experienced a 365 nm UV light with a black filter covering it. It feels extremely peculiar, as if nothing but a faint purple emanates from the source. However, on the wall, everything appears as a fluorescence bluish-white. The bluish-white is completely composed of photons that are re-emitted by the wall; the filter blocked almost all light except very tiny visible violet, which is overwhelmed by the fluorescence on the wall. The 365 nm light with a filter feels fantastic in complete darkness, even urine becomes fluorescent in a green color, reminiscent of the radioactive glow often seen in movies. I might use it to inspect hidden spots in hotels.

I prefer 365 nm, but I would say 395 nm is better for hunting scorpions, as we require additional visible light for seeing or walking in darkness. I used a 365 nm UV light and a UV test card to determine if my glass absorbs UV rays. It turned out to be quite interesting; it blocked most of the UV at 365 nm but not at 395 nm. Before acquiring the 365 nm light, I had believed my glass was fake.

Did you ever attempt to use the extension and add a third battery? It should raise voltage from 7.4 volts to 11.1 volts - somehow UV Beast seems to overlook this change in voltage, only mentioning the longer use. You have the setup to really test such an upgrade's results!

Exposure to UVA from black lights is well below the recognised safe limits and is not hazardous to people using them, working in their vicinity or who have them in their home. I actually wear ski goggles when playing with my 400W mercury vapor blacklight and it appears to be working fine, which is kinda expected since ski goggles are designed to block stronger-at-high-altitude UVA and UVB rays that are also reflected by the snow when skiing. When using a germicidal UVC tube I also hold a small glass panel in front of my face in addition to having the ski goggles on and it also seems to work although I already got eyestrain afterwards however no welder's flash as can happen in case of unfiltered exposure to UVC. But I recently got hold of a 400W high pressure sodium lamp and using it to light up a room always caused me eyestrain despite not having looked directly at the bulb and having had either the ski goggles or a pair of dark sunglasses on. Tested the UV output with glowing things as well as a UV detection card and it seems to be way less than the mercury vapor blacklight, therefore I wonder if it's really the UV that's responsible for the eyestrain or not when using the HPS bulb.

Got the “RovyVon Aurora A6UR/A8UR (UV+Red+White)”, which as a nice 365nm light in the side of the keychain flashlight. It’s honestly a super nice feeling piece of tech. I was wondering which wavelength was the most ideal and thought it was pretty cool seeing that in a device this small.

What’s the point of making a comparison when you make no distinctions between the two?
