Happy New Year! Sorry for the lack of video uploads. I’ve been super busy and the time I get home I’m pretty burnt out. Thank you for watching!

    I have questions!
I bought Wildfire, but I also want to use fluorescent spray paints. If you HAD to use spray paint, which would you recommend?
And can I use a NOT-UV-RESISTANT clear coating over any of these fluorescent paints to weatherproof them from rain? Which clear coat should I use?
    Thanks.
    (I have both 365 and 395 floodlights).
What can I expect from these fluorescents, being outside for 45 days a year, then dark-storage the rest of the year? Does the rain wash away the paint? Does the 'glow' fade after 2, 3, 5, 10 years?

@mablenay Unfortunately, I haven't use any fluorescent spray paint, so I can't really recommend anything.
You can use a sealer, but yes make sure there aren't any UV inhibitors inside it. I don't know of any off hand though.
For 45 days a year, I would expect the paints fluorescent ability to fade after a few years. Really hard to say when they're outside in the elements. My halloween props haven't needed a touch up in a couple of years, but the invisible paint probably needs some touch ups.

I used a purple leakage for Halloween. Its actually not that bad if you want to give your home an ominous glow. There's definitely an application for 380 and above use.

Agree. I don’t really mind it for Halloween deco.

Thanks for the video! Does this give off a bright purple light and if so, do they have a 365 nm version?

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  Год назад

It gives more of a whitish which leads me to believe it’s around 385nm. It’s not as harsh as a 400nm. I don’t believe they have a 365nm, I wish they did though!

Hello! I have spent the better part of an hour watching your videos, they are super helpful! I am hoping you can help me out:
I am designing a theatrical college production where I want to have blacklight/uv makeup (paint) slowly appear on a performer during a scene. So I need a black light (or blacklights) that:
    A. Can cover approximately a 24x15 feet area, hanging from about 19' off the ground.
    B. Are dimmable based on how much electricity is being sent to it, OR dimmable via a DMX connection.
I am leaning toward a 365nm LED fixture so that I can have total darkness but glow the make up/paint. ANY recommendations or help you are willing to provide would be very much appreciated. THANK YOU!!

Hello! Thanks for watching I really appreciate it!
What kind of budget do you have? Reason I ask is most 365nm blacklights that can dim and or have dmx controls can get quite expensive.
I’ll link some blacklights when I get to a computer.

@jack mccaffrey Below is what I know of off the top of my head.
store.wildfirelighting.com/viostorm-led-series/ - The BEST out there, but comes at a premium
darkfx.antari.com/portfolio-item/wash-2000 - Not sure if it dims, it should but I would ask them. I haven't seen this one perform, you may need two of them.
There are alot more options if you don't need dmx controls or to be dimmable.

@@UVBlackLights Hello! Thank you SO much for taking the time out of your day to respond, so kind. Thanks for providing some links as well.
So, while I could probably swing purchasing something around that cost, the budget itself for lighting and sound is 1k, and I need to get some other things. (The arts are always so well supported!). So I was hoping to find something capping at around $500. I know this is kind of a pipe dream, but I have already accepted that I will have to settle for a less than stellar blacklight.
It does not necessarily need DMX, but does in some way, need to dim from 0% to full without just flashing on.
I really appreciate you once again taking the time to answer. If theres nothing else you can think to offer that is okay! Your videos have been so helpful. Cheers~

@@JackMcCaffrey-zj1uz I'll do more research to see if I can find something dimmable for your application and budget.
You're welcome, I'm glad I can somewhat help!

@@UVBlackLights Thank you sir! An update while I've been doing research:
Throw distance can be much closer, the backlights may be on stage rather than hung above.

    Hi UV Black Lights,
I'm planning on a Camping Festival next month and purchased some "Black Light Tapestry" to hang around my 10x10 canopy. I was wondering if you have any suggestion/recommendation on a "Battery Powered UV/Black Light" that would facilitate a wide enough area & brightness for the situation?
I was thinking of purchasing 1-2 UV Flashlights and setting them in a corner of the campsite to project the UV effect off the tapestry.

The only problem I see with the flashlights is you might not get much of a beam spread since they're mostly narrow. If you don't mind that then that's your best bet.
This blacklight here amzn.to/3MIrAiH is rechargeable. I've been doing some testings with it and I got a good 6 hours out of it when fully charged. The 50% mode I got a good 12 hours I believe fully charged. It's not IP rated, so make sure there isn't any rain or moisture in the air if used outside.

Hi.. 1 query.. will housing the UV light strip with milky white cover affect the light performance?

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  9 месяцев назад +1

If the cover is in front of the LEDs then most likely yes.
