      Do you think that white rocks instead of black would increase the translucency of the LED lighting, make the separated pavers look like a singular white dance stage, and decrease the visible spacing between the rocks at night? I can see younger family members trying to turn it into a summer Post Covid party!! 🕺 😆 💃

    Outdoor smart plugs so you can get “switching” capability. And per code outdoor outlet needs to be GFCI protected.

    • @EnFuego79
      @EnFuego79 Год назад

      I have never heard of extension chords needing to be GFCI. Attaching a multi-inlet adapter to it does not change the fact that it's nothing more than an extension chord. Code must always submit to logic otherwise it is invalid.

    • @FAKASHMEAN
      @FAKASHMEAN Год назад

      @@EnFuego79 it’s not the extension cord that needs to be GFCI. It’s the outdoor receptacle in general that needs to be GFCI protected with “WR” rating (weather resistant).

    • @EnFuego79
      @EnFuego79 Год назад

      @@FAKASHMEAN By that logic, all multi-inlet extension chords must be GFCI. There is no logic to the argument. The form factor of the inlets is irrelevant. Especially if they have been manually weather-proofed/sealed. The point is, never blindly follow code. Always defer to logic.

    • @gennessisocasio4221
      @gennessisocasio4221 Год назад +1

      @@EnFuego79 all outdoor receptacle should be GFCI. The fact that you thought an extension cord is what we were talking about says a lot. Sure, waterproof sealing is done but that’s never 100% either. We talking about outdoor shit here.

    I love all of this, and that you had that mixer in your garage for 4 years! I can so relate to the preparation stages, and then the actual doing coming a few years later, but, hey, when you're ready to roll, you have what you need. I was wondering about the lights, I know I've seen somewhere, there are thick, clear, square shaped, 3 sided long strips that could be used, maybe to place over your rocks, keep things dry, keep your rocks in place, dirt out, and add a solid layer between your squares. Anyway, you have a wonderful personality, a good attitude about maneuvering around obstacles, the willingness to reapproach things after you get things through other stages, and you have a decorative vision. Appreciate you sharing everything.

    A few steps added as for suggestion. Use led encasements for a way to thread and replace old led when they need to be replaced and the. Pour in clear epoxy over everything or just in the lines and sand smooth. This would further weather proof. (If you live in a rainy area, this could be an issue if you don’t add drainage and have pavers cover large areas). I think I’m going to do a version similar where I paint the pavers with a stencil to look like encaustic tile and the use a thin line of epoxy and led in the “grout lines” and seal it up. Great Video! Gets us creatives something to ponder! 👍

    Great project! I just finished watching them all the way through. Except for the super cringe way you hooked up the power, you did a really great job. A GFI outlet either in your box or where you plug in your extension cord should definitely be in your future, but for a non-electrician/homeowner... You did a great job. You've earned my sub just by having your daughter look up to you enough to want to help you with your project! Way to father! Yahweh bless you and yours brother! Shalom

      @@DIYCreators Try a translucent stone. You can find different color translucent stones. Try to find a stone that is white or black, but make sure light can shine through it. Then test it out on one section. It doesn't have to be clear, just translucent. Translucent light shines through, Transparent is see-through.

    Looks nice. For my outside lighting I used a “smart switch” it allows me to turn on all my outside lights using their app or Alexa since I have three switches it links them together via WiFi and they act as one. So one tap and all the lights come on but I still have the options to turn them on individually. This may be something you’re looking for for this project. Btw love your channel keep up the good work.

    Great job 👏 I was looking for ideas and be really ready to watch bunch of videos until I found what I wanted but your’s videos are first and last. You did amazing job’s but you win my heart seeing your daughter helping. You are fantastic father, giving your daughter exactly what she needs. She must be happy little girl and proud young lady in future. I learn lot’s from your videos and get ideas for my backyard. Keep up with great ideas and work. Thank you and God bless you and your family.

    Looks amazing!! The only thing I would add is some heatshrink tubing to the areas where you don't want light to shine through. Dang! That's awesome!!

    Now that you've had that patio for a few days. How do you like the rocks, are they annoying and get bumped and come out or do they stay in just fine?
    I was wondering if once you found the lights worked if you'd put some kinda filler/gel between the rocks to make the surface smooth at the time (like you would for an LED light table)
    Great build! Looks awesome. I thought it was smart to test it out for one night, make sure it looked good and worked, before putting extra time/effort into creating the breaker box.

    Super cool project! To be honest, I was doubting how good the lights were going to look in the grooves with the river rocks but I was amazed. They look great and I bet your house guests have been hitting you up to make them something just like it for their own now-boring back yards! 😂
