I started hunting Yooperlites last winter and it just catches on to you! They are fun and exciting to find, but it helps when you have the right UV light - and what you need is a black light filtered 365nm spectrum UV light. This is just to help point you in the right direction if you are new to finding Yooperlites and want a good head start.

I would wrap the button in 3m stretch foam tape (bandage) or black cloth tape.
I own the Alonefire SV43 and i I've just discovered that if you hold down the power button after turning it on, the lamp starts dimming down very gradually. Then you can release the button at the desired intensity. Thanks!😀

The SV47 Will do the same thing.
After your first video I went out and purchased the SV18 by your recommendation (God forbid if I was going to spend $60-$100 for a flashlight). Thank you for letting me know your new video came out, I was just hoping your first pick was still the best pick after testing these!! Now I cannot wait to get up to the UP at the end of August!! I just purchased the Alonefire SV18 and I was pleasantly surprised; it seems the newer models have replaced the button so it has the smaller LED green light like the SV53
Just ordered the 12w style, but in the 15w version (if that makes sense).
Great video! You sold me on the Alonefire. I'm trying out the SV47 because it can use an alternate power source and has a tripod mount. It appears it may use a different LED element, so we'll see. And after a year report says you like the "Whale" the "D22", what is that? I'm thinking you meant the SV18 and glad to see your beer choice s not that other one.
I was out last night for 8 hrs in the snow. But I found my first yooperlights. 8 of them in fact.

I dont believe it does!
On the official Alonefire website they only lost the SV18 and the H42. I'm not sure why the other models are not listed at all.
You can get more off Amazon than their website though.
I honestly didn't know dudes this hot who were also into fluorescent minerals existed. Like, at all. AND there's even a hint he might actually be based - 30:00. Wild. 😏

I wonder if you could just take that led out or disable it somehow?

Does this disinfected? Or any recommendations for a UV that can disinfect?

I mean, UV does disinfect, but I would not purchase this light for that purpose - these are purely for other purposes.
It should be pointed out that you are not allowed to collect any rocks from any National Park like Pictured Rocks. You are also not allowed to collect rocks on the south east shore of Whitefish Point which is federal land owned by the Fish and Wildlife Dept. Rock collecting is fun, but everyone needs to know there are rules (My wife and I did not know that there were rules about where you can collect rocks from and how many pounds of rocks you are allowed to collect when we started rock collecting until we were kindly informed by a DNR officer).
Sure - but thats not what my video was about. Pretty much anyone going searching for them will (or at least should) do a little research first. I know I did - I read as much as I could about yooperlites before I went out searching and dropped money on a light.
