Going from the most unhealthiest relationship with ABA to the most stable and happiest relationships with Slayer in one season is crazy.
The funny thing is that Slayer knows ABA and Paracelsus personally and ENCOURAGES their relationship 😂 He was the one who told ABA where to go to put Paracelsus into a body back in GGXX. If you actually read some of Slayer’s quotes to other characters and mirror matches with himself, he is extremely similar to ABA in how jealous he gets for Sharon.

Season 3 Pass is all about relationships it seems - Johnny trying to woo all the women while managing a complicated relationship with May, Elphelt manically trying to FIND someone, ABA and her questionable relationship with Paracelsus and now Slayer with a healthy relationship with his immortal wife. T H E M E S
I love how the characters in season 3 have been, in order, the ultimate straight man, the ultimate straight woman, an incredibly devoted wife, and an incredibly devoted husband.

Slayer getting naked in the punch motion is actually a call back to the early concept of Mappa Hunch, where, as "mappa" literally means "naked" in Japanese, he dashes forward so fast that he leaves his clothes behind.
It's called Mach Punch in Isuka's manual, so I always assumed Mappa Hunch was a translation error they kept.
Then the underwear should've been good too, bad game design smh.

Can I just say how awesome it is that Strive is nearly 3 years old and Arcsys isn’t slowing down one bit with supporting the game? Normally a fighting game either stops or releases a new version around this time, but Strive just keeps on trucking with new characters and features. It’s becoming one of my favorite fighting games ever, and I can’t wait for the 3v3 mode.

It's so sick that they gave the guaranteed counterhit that unique text
I love that in his intro, Slayer doesn't feed on his Sharon. That always left a bad taste in my mouth (No pun intended) and instead doesn't want to keep her waiting for tea time. Very wholesome and I also love that Gone With the Wind win pose with her.

This is one of the rare times where a Strive design was *more* intricate and complicated compared to the original. It really makes his animations stand out way more, I'm real excited to see more of him!

I wouldn't say that the strive designs were really less complex than their previous ones, just more grounded in reality (sol, i-no, axl etc), some being mostly unchanged from their older design (baiken, Johnny, jack-o). In conclusion slayer goes hard and this design is his best one hands down my lord it's so good

I really love how the overcoat is standing in for a traditional vampire cape, with the whole popped collar + black outer/red inner color scheme it's got going on. Looks elegant and dandy as hell!
The coat is such an awesome design addition, he probably has one of the best redesigns in Strive

I really hope it won’t have a stupid minute and a half breakdown that kills the flow like a ton of other Strive songs. Mirror of the World, The Circle, and Symphony get kneecapped and interrupted for no reason for a slow chunk that goes on way too long

@@TerraKnyte_64 If it’s as good as Jack A Dandy’s sax solo and doesn’t slow to a crawl with some braindead lyrics we’ll be golden, but I absolutely can’t stand the slower breakdowns of so many other Strive songs just for how long they are. Mirror of the World has a fun intro, but it last roughly a minute in a game with rounds on a 60-90 second timer. Then that final bit where it sounds like Kermit is singing both sounds unpleasant and interrupts the rest of the flow for what feels like another eternity. Symphony’s breakdown is just a retro music reference that again kills the momentum the rest of the song delivers, and The Circle was so incredibly cut in the initial Bedman? trailers that it ruined the final full version of the song for me. It’s not that Strive has bad music, but it’s far more experimental and self indulgent than Daisuke Ishiwatari’s older works so while you get higher highs you get way lower lows and often both in the same song. His older works are just more consistent so if I like a part of an Xrd or XX track I find myself safely enjoying the whole song with little interruption or desire to fast forward.
@malikoniousjoe That's fair, but in the end it just comes down to preference. Some people prefer Strive's themes over Xrd, and there is nothing wrong with that.

There is no reason to edit it only into the Trailer, and it is visually completely in line with what's already in Strive.
If there is one thing I hate about waiting for characters to release it's the pain of having to wait for their full theme as well. The snippets are always a tease of something you know you'll love but it is torture having to wait.
Guilty gear is the only game that makes me hyped for the new ost as much as the new character

Basically when he gets a command throw his next hit becomes a heavy counter hit. Looks like they just changed the wording so it doesn't confuse new players on why they're getting counter hit if they not even pressing a button
In Rev 2, they made his bite command grab ("Bloodsucking Universe") grant a brief self-buff, causing his next on-hit special move to become a forced auto-counterhit (on a character who, even pre-Strive, had some massive fucking counterhit starters).
his command grab, bloodsucking universe, grants him a buff that makes his next attack act like a counterhit. in xrd, this was only the case for a set duration after the grab, and it didn't apply if the opponent blocked, so i imagine it'll be a similar situation here
