    Nice video Matty, finally a clear and honnest practical presentation of Trinnov products, which are really game changer indeed i believe. Could you show us how you did the measurement? Did you buy and use the Trinnov 3D microphone? Which process is the computer running to get all those informations?
    Anyway thanks and keep making great content!

    It would be interesting to have taken the measurements while Sonarworks was on to hear and see what the results would be. Right now you are saying what Trinnov is doing vs. Sonarworks but what would the changes that Trinnov suggest be if it was referencing via Sonarworks. I know it's probably impossible to do due to the hardware aspect/ separate computer part of it... but yeah, i think that would make an interesting observation. In terms of all the other features, I think it's a very interesting system.

    Sonarworks is EQ only yet the EQ seems to be much more broad and less precise than Trinnov. The measurement process also has drastically more room for error when your hand shakes a tiny bit. The results can change every time you re-measure. Sonarworks helps make a subtle improvement, yet Trinnov is the real deal. It’s like a Pontiac vs a Porsche.

Yes IK Arc 2.5 is the cheapest alternative, though as far as I know is not linear phase.

      @@bluematrix5001 well with a sub, you can use the (your) chosen crossover to help with low end... even with full range speakers, as long as the full range are capable.

    • @FOH3663
      @FOH3663 4 года назад

      It's not easy, as PROPER implementation of a sub in a mix/mastering rig such as this is challenging.
      Achieving deeper extension, higher dBSPL, with lower distortion ... is easy with the addition of a sub(s). But blending the sub's output into the L/R output it's very easy to do more harm than good because of phase and time alignment.
      Sure, the additional 20hz to 40hz energy is great ... that's the easy part because the wavelengths are so long the phase relationship isn't an issue. Blending the sub with the mains in the time/phase domain thru the critical two octaves from 40hz-160hz, is vitally important.
      Obviously it's more than just the kick drum, but when done right, "punch" is fully realized. The kick is experienced intact ... whereby the BOOM, SMACK, and CLICK, all arrive in proper time alignment. When the alignment is off, it's common to have a null sucking out the energy in that critical range.
      Oftentimes, many go without a sub, thinking the bottom octaves are best left to the loudspeaker designer.

    I mean, fair, but if streaky can use sonarworks and be at the top of his game, maybe the problem isn't sonarworks? Maybe the problem is your room should be taken care of properly first? I'm noticing some strange acoustic and placement choices in your room. It may be wiser to design the room better, sort out your listening position percentages and physical measurements accurately before worrying about room correction. I just think its overkill. I think it should be said, that you can get amazing results with sonarworks and you don't need some expensive separate system. I personally have no problem with sonarworks once I've put the time and effort in to really do some basic math on my room and sort out my placement. I think the message to the public should be that you need to focus on those things first, and then either system is perfectly fine and usable.

    Sonarworks is NOT room correction. It corrects speakers. You make many measurements specifically to average out room errors. If you want to correct your room, fix your room. Phase and time alignment are meaningless for phase, and fixed by moving your chair for time alignment.
    Nothing can correct a room, because room problems are caused by modes, not unflatness in frequency.
    Just watched further. Please don't try to make sense of a phase diagram until you have learned some acoustics. You have this so far wrong it isn't even funny.

    • @mixedbymatty

      Don. What’s funny is how serious you take yourself. Jeeeze!! I didn’t say I’m a acoustician. I’m a mixer. That’s why I had someone else design my room. However The limited space I had to work with still didn’t make the room flat or completely perfect. So I tried the trinnov to Tighten up some rough ends. We all know that you can’t correct modes with room EQ, but I have and continue to use trinnov because all my mixes translate very well to other systems and that’s all that matters to me and my clients.
      So chill with the judgmental rant. If you have something positive to say, that me and my viewers could learn something from that would be great. If not why bother posting? To make yourself feel important? Me and many others do these videos for free to help people out. I’m showing people how I use trinnov and how it works for me. Maybe you should make some videos.
