    Thanks for creating this great video.
    From my perspective as an engineer in electronics and computer science with great passion for video and audio, I have the impression that the Trinnov overall approach is the by far most advanced one.
    Any other approach that uses only one microphone to do some room measurement will only result in adjustments of the levels along the frequency, i.e. some kind of automated parametric EQ. While this may be sufficient for many cases, for example when doing quick adjustments to a smaller PA system to make it sound nicely, the Trinnov systems can measure in 3D, thereby finding out which portion of the sound comes directly from the speakers and which portion is from the first reflections. With this information, the internal SW can not only calibrate some kind of EQ curve but also optimize the phase behavior of the speakers in a specific room for a specific listening position.
    From my understanding, this would even mean that the Trinnov-System can calibrate the overall audio chain, including the power amps, the speaker cables, the speakers with their built-in crossover networks, and the room. Of course, the room needs some beforehand treatment, and the speakers need to be in a good position.
    Pls let me know if my assumptions are wrong in any way.

    Can you guys explain in another video how to connect the Trinnov to do the calibration of a subwoofer or a 2.1 system? Thanks

      Thank you for your interest ! There is currently a similar app in the works for windows, but for now you can simply use a browser via VNC to login into the unit. You will need an internet connection though, with the app or not. If there is no direct access to the router via RJ45 the unit can also connect to the Wi-Fi via a simple access box. Hope it answers your question, and if you have more, please email our support team at support@trinnov.com

    FYI seems like you need to remove the USB stick before rebooting, just FYI. Mine went into a boot loop until I removed it, then it came up as shown. 👍

      Usually, Any measurement microphone can be used for recording, and some have become very beloved. DPA was founded because their parent company Bruel & Kjaer found out that lots and lots of recording engineers went through all kinds of hoops to be able to record with their fantastic measurement microphones. The first many DPA microphones where just measurement microphones in a different housing and with an XLR output instead of the proprietary system @@HS-ed3dz

    is there a general suggestion of whether it is better to place the ST2 before or after the monitor controller?
    this would be for a simple monitor controller that provides only volume control before going out to the speakers...

    Cool video! I'd actually be interested in the system, but when I downloaded the Mac app to check it out it told me that it is to old to run on this OS. I'm already running an old OS (Catalina) which means the app hasn't been updated in years. I don't want to invest in a system which is no longer supported, so I hope you can tell me what's going on :)

    • @TrinnovAudio
      @TrinnovAudio  2 года назад +1

      Our macOS app is currently compatible with the latest software and M1 Processors, we update it constantly :) Catalina might require an older version that you can ask our support team. The app still is only there for control and will not work without a Trinnov processor!

      @@TrinnovAudio Thanks a lot for your response! That is what hoped to hear/read :) 👍
      I actually found the issue, it's the Mac gate keeper which shows a somewhat confusing message that the app needs to be updated. While in fact the problem is that the app hasn’t been notarized with Apple. Right click -> open -> open anyway does the trick :)

    I dont get it. It plays pink Noise? Thats ok for volume but can it do an EQ based on that? You will need a frequency Sweep!?

    • @TrinnovAudio
      @TrinnovAudio  Год назад +2

      Hello Lauroon ! We actually do not use Pink Noise but a modified maximum length sequence (MLS) measurement technique, which was developed solely for use in room acoustics.

    In this video you are using the Dangerous as a monitor controller. I wrote Dangerous and they told me that if I connect the Dangerous to the ST2 pro, I will then be monitoring thourgh the Trinnov and lose the monitoring capabilities of the Dangerous. How come?...I bought the Dangerous ST for the transparency in the signal chain and their step FLETCHER attenuator, and the Trinnov just for the room Optimization, NOT for monitoring. Will I lose all of that Dangerous functions if I connect that with the Trinnov?...will the Trinnov ruin the Dangerous ST monitoring capabilities?...IT'S getting very confusing right now

    • @TrinnovAudio
      @TrinnovAudio  3 года назад

      Hello Federico, not at all, both units can work really nicely together and a lot of our users own both! What you would do here is place the Trinnov right before your speakers and after the Monitor ST, the Trinnov will therefore take care of room correction and speaker optimization and the Dangerous of all monitoring purposes, please write to our support team for any help support@trinnov.com they will help you set up in the nicest way possible.
