@@Fakeplasticgergo Thanks man i know it's been like nearly a year but I was thinking like I recognize him I thought it might be Stephen Street for a second the guy who did the blur albums but it being the wacky MTV guy appreciating it made it kind of more special.
Thom said the original wasn't great but I love the original version and then he goes and make an awesome second version. He could probably go on and make six more different version of this song and it would sound awesome. This is why this man here is legendary.
If he would have made six versions of the song it would be: Fog (Knives out CD2) Fog (Again) (Go to sleep CD1/ COMLAG 2plus2is5) Fog (Again Again) (Kid A mnesia) Fog (Again Again Again) Fog (Again Again Again Again) Fog (Again Again Again Again Again)
The studio version is interesting. By the halfway point it's on its way to becoming my favorite RH song. The minimalist arrangement, lead by Colin's gorgeous bass part. How the drums come in only to later be joined by a very aggressive but fitting guitar. The only problem, is that the song has never been properly finished IMO. It needs something else after the initial climax is hit. The studio version basically peters out and even the live version here just stops. Then again, some songs are fine being short. It's just I believe this one had potential for something more.
I find the love version had so much more instant emotion. The spookiness of the actual b side is nothing that Radiohead doesn't already have in abundance. Just my 2c, Radiohead are great.
Guy Guy gonna have to massively disagree. the droning buzz-sound, the distinct melody, the strong bass, and the guitar with its gorgeous tone imo make the studio version. this version is amazing too but all it is is piano chords. the studio version has a build-up quality that this version doesn’t have. it has weight behind the “did you go bad” that this version doesn’t.
This song is so simple, straightforward and sincere compared to most of Radiohead’s work. Which makes its helpless a bd sad message feel even more engaging.
Lol why other work of Radiohead is less sincere because they experiment with music, much more than here as it's just piano and the voice of Thom Yorke? It's such a cliche and a simplistic view of the incredible catalogue of one of the greatest band ever
@@masterculturedunkerque7918 -I couldn't agree more. Sure, they dress up a lot of songs with extra bells and whistles, but even when you strip them all down to their original essence, they're still every bit just as amazing. IMO.

20 years after this fabulous TV show, i always think this is one of my top favorite songs of all time especially in this version with Thom alone on piano. Absolutely amazing. Masterpiece.
Had never noticed it's played in June 2003. It was exactly the time my life had changed.... It was the time my dad passed away. And now it kinda feels like he's singing it to me... warning me not to go bad, warning me not everything can be fixed, warning me time is gonna fly.....
It’s so hard to explain what this song makes me feel. It reminds me of a warm summer night, listening to the crickets chirp and laying on the couch, staring at the ceiling. Late night television. The whole internet asleep. The good times. “Did you go back?” Yes. For a brief, fleeting moment it brought me back to those peaceful summer nights.
I first heard this when listening to my phone on a Coach full of ramblers on an outing in the mountains. I started sobbing and one chap asked if I was okay. I nodded just like the bloke on 0.47 and whispered 'oh yes'!
This feels like yesterday. Think about it: Smart Phones and Touchscreen Tablet weren't invented yet. RUclips, Twitter and Facebook weren't around yet. Marvel universe weren't even a thing yet. So much has happened since.
Having to download live concert videos from Limewire/Kazaa/Morpheus sucked - very glad RUclips came along. MySpace/Xanga instead of Facebook. AIM/ICQ/MSN Messenger/IRC. Good times.
i love this song, i think its so underrated yet the people who love it REALLY love it such as myself. the again again version off kid amnesia tho is my favourite version. this being second.

It's weird that of all the 9 studio album, my favorite song turned out to be a live version of a b side.

It may not be Radiohead's best song, but it's still probably the greatest song ever written. Somehow.
i get that feeling with radiohead a lot
It is their best song in my books.
That's how I feel about just about every Radiohead song.
Somehow, even after a good 30(or more) years, Thom and the boys never cease to amaze me.
