@@majortom4543 bruh you're literally the type of person who thinks you have to play technical and fast at the moment to make it sound good. I will ask you a question. Who the fuck needs 240bpm passages in this song? shut up and think about what you are writing. Simple playing can also be beautiful
I'm just choking with delight! Jonny's piano part is just simple message from the universe! I have been watching this video for 15 years and it awakens in me more and more powerful emotions every year!
A heart that's full up like a landfill A job that slowly kills you Bruises that won't heal You look so tired, unhappy Bring down the government They don't, they don't speak for us I'll take a quiet life A handshake of carbon monoxide And no alarms and no surprises No alarms and no surprises No alarms and no surprises Silent, silent This is my final fit My final bellyache With no alarms and no surprises No alarms and no surprises No alarms and no surprises, please Such a pretty house And such a pretty garden No alarms and no surprises (get me out of here) No alarms and no surprises (get me out of here) No alarms and no surprises, please (get me out of here)
I thought this was a so-so song with Radiohead standard, but this version altered my mind. It's so relaxing that you will not feel the fear of the death.
Waat? Its one of Radiohead's best. What does simple has to do with greatness? Complexity doesn't necessarily means better. No surprises is one hell of a tune.
i was going to say its the best ever... well i cant compare radiohead other songs.. they are all so amazing... i dont even have a favourite... everytime i say that a radiohead song will be my favourite.. as soon as i listen to another of their song.. i change my decision..... ahhh what a hard life.... :P
It's so amazing that this song is so relevant in today's society that songs like it back in the 80's, 90's and 00's was pushed aside as being "depressing"
THE greatest band of my generation!!!!! My favorite band of all time is Pink Floyd, but Radiohead is a close 2nd. "OK Computer" is the "Dark Side", "Sgt. Peppers", "Who's Next", "Disraeli Gears" for the kids who grew up in the mid-late 80's and were teens in the 90's. They have other brilliant albums that are pure art, but "OK Computer" is a rare breed. It's a "perfect" album, those just don't come around very often. In my opinion the music isn't the only thing that makes a particular album "perfect". It's the message, the content and the timing of it's release. This is why "Dark Side of the Moon" was a perfect album, it was released at the right time, with the right content, on the right format....quadrophonic mix. The 60's-70's had dozens of bands that just oozed great albums, my parents were lucky as shit....I had Seattle, Pumpkins, some decent metal bands....and Radiohead. Everything since then, has been total SHIT!!!!! Kids today haven't even heard REAL music. It's all overproduced, auto-tuned, image based, plastic, brightly colored corporate horseshit. "Hail to the Thieves", indeed.
hey, don't believe it's all sh*t nowadays. My fav band is Pink Floyd and I think it will always be. And my top albums always have 2 or more PF records. I discovered Radiohead last year I guess, and Ok Computer has risen to a solid 2nd place. I agree with you when you say Dark side is a perfect album, as Ok Computer is. And that's due to the amazing changes between songs, the atmosphere, the lyrics, the great moments. I can compare the passage between Any color you like and Brain damage to the one between Climbing the walls and No surprises. Both are truly genius. But don't make the same mistake i did for years. Go "out there", discover new bands. Listen to Muse for instance, they are a great band and if you put aside the Radiohead influence (only present in the first album, and that is completely normal) you'll find some great moments there as well. In my opinion, they haven't release a "perfect" album yet but I sure find 4 or 5 to be quite genius. Another bands you can try - Haken, for some more heavy, cool, progressive stuff. Also Riverside and maybe Porcupine Tree. And there are tons of others. If you enjoy Genesis I'd say Big big train is a way to go and even if you don't enjoy Genesis. The thing is: What's good is almost always hidden beneath the surface. Dig it up. Progarchives.com is a good place to start and YT of course. I hope you find good new bands. I sure love the feeling it brings me :)
same here. My favorite band is pinkfloyd and the second is radiohead. Their music is very meaningful to me. I also like The Eels it would be the closest band that brings the same emotions to me as Radiohead does.
Good version. I found it weird that Thom started singing "Get me out of here"; maybe that was his way of saying "I've had enough and I don't want to be here anymore"?
This is my favorite version of this song. I scoured RUclips looking for this version. I'm very happy to have found it. "Get me out of here."
Funny, I just typed radiohead no surprises live and this option came up first lol.
arch3223 Exactly!!! that part is out of this universe
arch3223 That’s what Ed sings normally on back vocals when they are 5.
You are absolutely right!
jony greenwood sucks
my god, Jonny's work on the piano here is devastatingly beautiful. best version of one their best songs, ever
what are you talking about sounds like a 7 year old

speed up and flip against the wall. Lvl 100 of ignorance
It gives me chills when Thom sings Ed’s usual part “get me out of here”
Mrs Thom Yorke YESS...I Feel It too👍👍👍
I Feel the same HAHA. So fucking special.
seriously tho get me the fuck out of here

My first favourite Radiohead song at the beginning of the school year. Less than a month left and I'm back here.
the tune in this particular version shatters my heart into pieces, not to mention the song itself
I'm just choking with delight! Jonny's piano part is just simple message from the universe!

This tune and 'Let Down' really fucking move me. What incredible human beings.
I love thom's evil smile at the beginning ❤️
but pure good soul

My all time favorite of all live “no surprises “
Thanks for the audiences for not making any unnecessary sound along the song...
Sometimes beauty strikes you dumb!
Jonny Greenwood is such a great musician man...

No one's ever been so relatable
The first para of this song is absolutely incredible
I got scared when Thom started singing "get me out of here"
How come?
Two of the most underrated musicians of their generation
now thats music for the soul, thanks for the upload
Man its weird that 9 people mistakenly hit "dislike" on accident.
Now they're 19
it's cuz jonny was given a mic already for vocals and yet didn't sing.
