Phil Selway rocks so hard he can even play two drums at the same time
I reckon I could and I’m not even a drummer!
@@hanreality.7266I might be wrong (hehe) but I think he means two drum sets, not two drums. You’re kinda required to play two drums if you’re a drummer. I’m pretty sure that TKOL had double drum sets in sessions.

I can’t NOT dance when I listen to Lotus Flower.
Such a beautiful song.
Pure drum and bass plus the light of Ed’s guitar and Thom’s voice.
Beautiful and emotional. One of their best
...have you not seen the instructional video?
how can you dance ???
amen
You can SO tell that Thom loves this song!
Unreal how a song can change from a groovy, dark, almost heavy tone in the verses, to the chorus, where I can really only describe the feeling it gives me as floating in space.
I wanna like this but it’s such a perfect number I can’t do it
That's how the song poltergeist makes me feel. Whenever I listen to it I'm reminded of my favorite level, nation spirit
Very well said

It clearly smacks harder! Much more intense

1:32 - 1:42 in good headphones, that's magnificent. Love Clive's drum fill that leads into it
the best version of Lotus Flower , for real
Duh.
They play it way too fast now. This one (HERE) has the perfect timing

A Moon Shaped Pool From the Basement!
hard to fit an entire orchestra in a basement..
I remember them posting it and it going private. So I think it's recorded already.
@@djackson006 seriously man? holyyyyyy
@@djackson006 stop lying.
TheCheezFace I tried to watch it but it had already gone private. Im high a lot, but I'm sure it happened.
They've been busy with their channel of late, so I've been paying attention.
Not gonna lie I did not know many of the guitar parts that I love were being played by Ed until I started digging more into their live videos. He really deserves to be talked about as much as Jonny
100%
Totally agree, underrated IMO!
he’s great. but i don’t think he needs to be talked about as much compared to jonny who likely wrote the part he was playing in the first place
Is that cat Jonny really that much of a heavyweight? Im asking genuinely. Im kinda new to Radiohead so I haven't went down the rabbit hole yet. I been digging them for a couple yrs now. I listen to a handful of numbers but those I do love. I actually come from different genres but im very open minded when it comes to music. Gotta be. Anyway.. I know Thom is considered a genius and I've heard alot about Jonny. People always seem to talk about what he brings to the table. His contribution to the band.
I love that Radiohead just keeps exploring and evolving. I’m along for the ride wherever we end up.
Helps me concentrate
This song makes me feel like a child discovering the world for first time... it's amazing. Thanks Thom, thank you Radiohead.
Same, I love this song
And are you enjoying this discover?
@@ariannalucia598Absolutely!❤
When the camera shot at Jonny's hand,
I felt that.
2:45 - The chorus is a pausation of existence. An out of body experience, slow motion noclipping through the multiverse. A multiplanetary communication event. Simply divine.
it’s amazing how it changes from this very groovy baseline oriented song to a peaceful moment of contemplation, like a whole new world is unfolding in front of your eyes while your soul wanders through the void.
Yes! Love you pointed it out! Theres so much to take in
Nice!!
Lotus flower
I will shake myself into your pocket
Invisible
Do what you want
Do what you want
I will sink and I will disappear
I will slip into the groove
And cut me off
And cut me off
There's an empty space inside my heart
Where the weeds take root
So now I set you free
I set you free
There's an empty space inside my heart
Where the weeds take root
So now I'll set you free
I'll set you free
Slowly we unfurl
As lotus flowers
'Cause all I want is the moon upon a stick
Just to see what if
Just to see what is
I can't kick the habit
"Just to feel your fast ballooning head"
Listen to your heart
We will shrink and then be quiet as mice
And while the cat is away
Do what we want
Do what we want
There's an empty space inside my heart
Where the weeds take root
So now I set you free
I set you free
'Cause all I want is the moon upon a stick
Just to see what if
Just to see what is
The bird that's flown into my room
Slowly we unfurl
As lotus flowers
'Cause all I want is the earth upon a stick
I dance around the pit, the darkness is beneath
I can't kick your habit
"Just to feed your fast ballooning head"
Listen to your heart
One of the greatest bands of all time
thom going ham on the maracas is the best thing ive ever witnessed
I had forgotten how much i love this song
You could be the highest of highs; the lowest of lows; or somewhere in between and this will still make you forget about everything. It reaches deep but it's fun at the same time.
Drum fill at 1:32 is just gorgeous. Wow!
One of my twin 17 month old sons just went to the toy box and came back with a rattle. He then started shaking it furiously with a big grin on his face to this song!

@@ThingsWeLoveYo?
Radiohead made music in quarantine in the basement before it was the cool thing to do.
OmG is true haha
This was debuted by Thom Yorke at a warm-up show with his group Atoms For Peace in 2009. Radiohead first played the song during a benefit concert in 2010. Once recorded, “Lotus Flower” (2011) was chosen by the English alternative rock band as the first single from their studio album “The King of Limbs” (2011).
The lotus flower, a.k.a. sacred lotus, an aquatic perennial, is the national flower of India and Vietnam. From ancient times it has been a divine symbol in Asian traditions, representing the virtue of sexual purity. In Asian classical literature, the lotus was often used in verse as an allegory for ideal feminine attributes.
The LP’s title refers to an oak tree in Wiltshire’s Savernaks Forest, which is believed to be 1,000 years old❗️
Yorke’s singular moves in the music video inspired a series of dance dub clips having him grooving to popular tunes : Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” (2008), Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” (2009), and Guns N’ Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle” (1987).
ONE DISTINCTIVE ODE TO WOMEN❕ 💜🪷💜
The King of Limbs didn't really grab me at first, but in a live setting (and with time) it has really grown.
This song should be in every set list they do. Absolutely phenomenal!!!

Yeah... definitivly the best live performence of this one. A big moment of music
You should see them in live, they are way better in live

TKOL is actually my favorite album by them.. the basement sessions completely changed my mind. very much so worth a listen
I’m listening it little by little
Pink Floyd and radiohead ...they are genius ...out of the box
You forgot to mention Coldplay
@@ThingsWeLoveYohow in the FUCK are coldplay geniuses? I'm very much a fan of most of their work, but I gotta admit at least half of their work (especially recent stuff) is just pop-ish cashgrabs. Of course, a lot of great, catchy songs in the mix, but not a lot of thought seeps through it like you'd see in Radiohead and Pink Floyd.

I really like it when an entire Band records in the same room, they usually "Play" off one another...this is a fantastic example of this.

Also Radiohead: "You like our TWO bald drummers?"
