I swear…you listen to one song by Radiohead and next thing you know…down the rabbit hole you go. I’ve always been familiar with the band but I’m just discovering the quality of their catalog. This song hits different, for sure.
Yeah, I've been falling to the rabbit hole since I discovered Idioteque in a random amv, and now I can't climb back to the surface. Radiohead is just that good.
@@juanrafaelrubiales1014 Ed O'Brien confirmed that a new Radiohead album will be coming out eventually, he just doesn't know when. but we do have confirmation of a new album existing :)
We put this on our wedding playlist. Four people on the dance floor had seen the video and started dancing like Thom. Other people caught on eventually.
For context, we did this after dinner when people were already dancing. It's not like we all just spontaneously started doing this dance in the middle of the ceremony.
Would it still be cringy if it were a different song and a different dance? Suppose the same thing happened but with The Time Warp or Kung Fu Fighting.
Mitchell Delisle Bjork once had a review saying "this is the way music is going to sound in four years" I think the same goes for Radiohead.... and Thom....
Introduced my 15 yr old niece to Radiohead with this song over Thanksgiving. She was supr impressed and couldn’t believe the song wasn’t just released. I felt so proud, and now want my cool uncle card sent to me ASAP.
Did so with my cousin's 1 year old, she asked me to play him baby shark on my phone (I know, 1 years olds shouldn't have screen time, but I can't control it) Instead I showed him the clip for 15 Step
2:03 one of my favorite Radiohead moments, its just perfect "Slowly we unfurl As lotus flowers 'Cause all I want is the moon upon a stick Just to see what if Just to see what is I can't kick the habit "Just to feel your fast ballooning head" Listen to your heart"
Mike Oliveri I thought his point was that this seemingly improvised impolsive movement was actually amazingly thought out and structured (choreographed) to our surprise. Personaly, when I first saw this video I thought that was just Thom York doing his thing along with the music... surprised me to read that other people were involved.
I discovered this song when I was on LSD. This clip was so mind blowing at the time, I understood the entire dance and everything fell into place and was perfect. I played it on repeat for 5 hours and couldn't look away 🤣 Now sober, I still think this is one of the most beautiful dances I have ever seen.
It feels like yesterday that this song came out. It's hard to believe it's already been 12 years. Honestly, the day TKOL dropped was so exciting. I think most fans gave that album a hard time, but it's grown on me so much and I consider it some of their best and most interesting work now. Listen to the live version The King of Limbs From the Basement sessions to hear these songs at their absolute best.
+Bruce Robertson Yeah! definitely they're awesome! one of my very favorites! Just saw you last night in X-Men: days of future past, great movie, you are great man! soft and easy to go! and together with Fassbender, man, what a great couple! I'd love to see you both in some independent film or project! Can't wait to see what's next for you!! CHEERS!!
What a great video... While everyone is distracted by the (awesome) dancing, Thom sings out his feelings directly to his audience about how the art that goes into his music is unnoticed and invisible... Brilliant introspective video.
Dudes, this is the antithesis of the choreographed dance to a song. It’s a fabulous freestyle interpretation of his own song. I actually love watching it every couple months. It always makes me smile, it’s so real it does my heart good.
i also think this is sexy, its like Thom's being completely free, he's not caring on what could we think about him or his dance moves, thats the beauty, hes just being himself
There was me, that is Thom, and my four droogs, that is Jonny, Ed, Colin and Phil, and we sat in the Radiohead Musicbar trying to make up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening. The Radiohead Musicbar sold music-plus, music plus arpeggi or synthesizers or melancholy, which is what we were hearing. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-awesome.
Alot of people find this video to be funny but I find it fascinating. He's moving gracefully. As if he's trying to become the song and enact each lyric physically becoming the words and the emotions behind them. I think its brilliant
This is actually genius though. It was shot in black on white, had a dance and style that isn't specific to a certain era, and he used a pretty plain clothes. So whether you watch this in 2010 or in 2050 the video doesn't feel old. It's designed to be timeless
I like how everyone has a preference in album, what I love about radiohead is how they have an album for everyone, they are the only few bands who can change their sound successfully without you thinking they're a completely different band. Many artists change their sound and I don't like it but so far this band has never let me down.
Exactly that's why there so damn good, they broaden all of there fans horizons and make *good new* songs not shitty changes like coldplay and green day.
CritiChicken Coldplay isnt horrible really (i mean i get some songs) But hell i guess you'll be glad to hear they're releasing there last album this year. However what you dont understand about that is that only leaves the very shitty bands for teenage girls to like left.

Or the way we think we can dance. When you're alone you're just all this flexible.
I thought it was just myself 🤔😑😑
He's a lotus flower blooming over and over .
in the dance moves .
It's pretty sacrid cool. .
I swear…you listen to one song by Radiohead and next thing you know…down the rabbit hole you go. I’ve always been familiar with the band but I’m just discovering the quality of their catalog. This song hits different, for sure.
Well except for creep
Yeah, I've been falling to the rabbit hole since I discovered Idioteque in a random amv, and now I can't climb back to the surface. Radiohead is just that good.
A couple of listens to In Rainbows sent me down the rabbit hole. What an album
how was this 10 YEARS AGO ALREADY??? this still feels so fresh
quality music never gets old.
Yup time go fast
11 years now
In Rainbows feels like it was released just last month
ikr LOL If you are a Sanchez, mi amigo tenes un gusto de madre!
3:51 Praying for another Radiohead album
Soon friend, soon
yall I got some good news
@@dgbeck aww tell us!!
@@juanrafaelrubiales1014 Ed O'Brien confirmed that a new Radiohead album will be coming out eventually, he just doesn't know when. but we do have confirmation of a new album existing :)
@@dgbeck That sounds great, I can't wait haha thank you for the info!!
there's nothing to say. it's pure genius.
We put this on our wedding playlist. Four people on the dance floor had seen the video and started dancing like Thom. Other people caught on eventually.
That sounds like it was either super cringy or amazing
+Victor lol yeah
Coolest wedding ever.
For context, we did this after dinner when people were already dancing. It's not like we all just spontaneously started doing this dance in the middle of the ceremony.
Would it still be cringy if it were a different song and a different dance? Suppose the same thing happened but with The Time Warp or Kung Fu Fighting.
When this album came out, I just felt lukewarm about it.
Over the years, it really grew on me. The power of Radiohead.
Same!
Mitchell Delisle It's the power of habit. :D
Hash Grove Love that book :D
Mitchell Delisle Bjork once had a review saying "this is the way music is going to sound in four years" I think the same goes for Radiohead.... and Thom....
Mitchell Delisle Radiohead power
Fun fact: Thom has the rat from Ratatouille under his hat

i HOPE THAT i COULD BE AS COOL AS THOM SOMEDAY
I was kind of shy person. But now I can dance in public without feeling shy at all after watching this video. So Thank you Thom
Good for you 💪
Introduced my 15 yr old niece to Radiohead with this song over Thanksgiving. She was supr impressed and couldn’t believe the song wasn’t just released.
I felt so proud, and now want my cool uncle card sent to me ASAP.
moree unclees like youu to thee world!!!!
I did the same to my 13 yo niece but with Videotape. And now she's just depressed and I'm questioning my actions...
Did so with my cousin's 1 year old, she asked me to play him baby shark on my phone (I know, 1 years olds shouldn't have screen time, but I can't control it)
Instead I showed him the clip for 15 Step
::D Perfection
Gratz on that! But have you shown her Thom Yorke dancing Intentalo?
Director: left foot, spin, drop
Thom: spider legs, seizure, cattle skattle
😂😂😂😂
I CANTTTTTT

2:03 one of my favorite Radiohead moments, its just perfect
"Slowly we unfurl
As lotus flowers
'Cause all I want is the moon upon a stick
Just to see what if
Just to see what is
I can't kick the habit
"Just to feel your fast ballooning head"
Listen to your heart"
I can’t kick your habit. All been there
Sameee!! My favorite part
I hear it as 'just to feed your fast balooning head' which makes more sense to me, though I'm terrible at hearing lyrics so I could be dead wrong
"Choreography by Wayne McGregor"
Somebody choreographed this. Let that sink in.
so? oh i forgot its youtube, someone always has to be an ass. Go ahead and make a reply video so we can see your dance moves. ass. let this sink in.
Mike Oliveri Explain how he's being an ass, smart guy.
Mike Oliveri were you the choreographer?
Mike Oliveri I thought his point was that this seemingly improvised impolsive movement was actually amazingly thought out and structured (choreographed) to our surprise.
Personaly, when I first saw this video I thought that was just Thom York doing his thing along with the music... surprised me to read that other people were involved.
garry o'farrell yep, the one talking about himself.
"But we don't have a choreographer"
Thom Yorke: Hold my beer
Hahahaahahahahah
🤣🤣🤣

@@elintezel1224 Who choreographs for the Royal Ballet lmaooo
I discovered this song when I was on LSD. This clip was so mind blowing at the time, I understood the entire dance and everything fell into place and was perfect. I played it on repeat for 5 hours and couldn't look away 🤣 Now sober, I still think this is one of the most beautiful dances I have ever seen.
I guess he truly is The King Of Limbs
i really wanna frame this comment and keep it on my wall despite the fact no one i know will understand the reference
nikita dun do it for the Yorke
Indeed.
hahahahahhahahaahahah def the best thing that i read
Lol his limbs go haywire
I mean... That's exactly how I dance to Radiohead songs when I'm home alone
it’s the only right way
imagine this being the only evidence of human life
I'd be proud actually.

What about Tori Amos in that list? :)
Add Polly Jean Harvey in there 😊
and they’re all INFPs…hmmmmm 🦧
This dance, this dance is like a weapon of self defense against the present tense ...
Right .
Simone ROTH I am crying here, best comment so far! 😂
Thank you !
Hahahhahaa
Simone ROTH True fan. Love A Moon Shaped Pool
His voice is an instrument within itself.
thats how voice usually works in music
It feels like yesterday that this song came out. It's hard to believe it's already been 12 years. Honestly, the day TKOL dropped was so exciting. I think most fans gave that album a hard time, but it's grown on me so much and I consider it some of their best and most interesting work now. Listen to the live version The King of Limbs From the Basement sessions to hear these songs at their absolute best.
I think there's no man in the world who can feel sound such as Thom.
+Bruce Robertson are you the original Bruce? xD it's great to see your comment here
ms gg Of course I'm the fucking original.

Just saw you last night in X-Men: days of future past, great movie, you are great man! soft and easy to go! and together with Fassbender, man, what a great couple! I'd love to see you both in some independent film or project!
Can't wait to see what's next for you!! CHEERS!!
Beautiful song with one of the funniest comment sections on RUclips
Full of timecodes
You're right 😂
That comment was first, and inspired me to read on; you are most right!
You wrote that but didn’t put lol btw I love falling down “whatever the Damn thing is “
Agreed ✌️
What a great video... While everyone is distracted by the (awesome) dancing,
Thom sings out his feelings directly to his audience about how the art that goes into his music is unnoticed and invisible... Brilliant introspective video.
Jacob Hempel hope your comment gets more views
So he has to explain what he is doing? Give me a fucking break..
I thought it was a love song?
Muse commenting on a Radiohead song 😐

Reminds me of this is America
Dudes, this is the antithesis of the choreographed dance to a song. It’s a fabulous freestyle interpretation of his own song. I actually love watching it every couple months. It always makes me smile, it’s so real it does my heart good.
This song still sounds ahead of time 10 years later. Absolutely timeless
Set in the 'present'.
Because music hasn't evolved significantly for the past 15 years.
@@beepst u know that’s not true lol
@@beepst You haven't listened to much music from the past 15 years then
i also think this is sexy, its like Thom's being completely free, he's not caring on what could we think about him or his dance moves, thats the beauty, hes just being himself
Just got back from seeing him in person at a concert I can die happy now
Hi, my name is Thom Yorke, and i'm your freestyle dance teacher

There was me, that is Thom, and my four droogs, that is Jonny, Ed, Colin and Phil, and we sat in the Radiohead Musicbar trying to make up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening. The Radiohead Musicbar sold music-plus, music plus arpeggi or synthesizers or melancholy, which is what we were hearing. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-awesome.
A Clockwork Orange + Radiohead for the win

Alot of people find this video to be funny but I find it fascinating. He's moving gracefully. As if he's trying to become the song and enact each lyric physically becoming the words and the emotions behind them. I think its brilliant
I can't stop watching him dance. Its beautiful and connects with me on a level I can't describe. I love radiohead.
Yes thom York is incredible
its brilliant and funny
he moves to what feels right in his head and his body
We used to call it 'trippin'. Soo into it! Soo good. 🤯
I’ve never heard a Radiohead song, let alone be a rock fan, but this song has always amazed me. Guys voice is angelic yet haunting at the same time
You're in for quite a treat then if this was your first Radiohead song!

radiohead is rock.
As far as I'm concerned, they are the best band in the world 🌎

Q: How many people does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: Thom Yorke
This is actually genius though. It was shot in black on white, had a dance and style that isn't specific to a certain era, and he used a pretty plain clothes. So whether you watch this in 2010 or in 2050 the video doesn't feel old. It's designed to be timeless
that’s what i’m sayinnnnn, absolutely timeless
Genius.
As we all know, color is a fad and and 1080p will be standard forever.
Precisely this endeavor to timelessness, speaks about out time.
When I first watch the video I though of it as classic Radiohead, fresh, innovative. And still is!

hahaha every time
This is the most 'like no one's looking' dance I've ever seen. Pretty impressive for a guy who is looking directly at a camera.
Linkin park changed and broke my heart :(

Shayla Baker Marilyn Manson has the same talent.

Thom Yorke is a genius. I love his compositions and I love this choreography.
Remember to appreciate also other Radiohead members. All of them are geniuses😊
