You have to face the ugly truth when you move in with someone, and you have to explain why you have so many figures. Your spouse will force you to sell them because most women aren't collectors themselves, and they have no concept of what they mean to you. I agree with allot of what you said, some figures are unfortunately impulse buys, and others are ones you didn't think you wanted, however, they're pretty cool. We all make bad choices when we buy anything really, Hot Toys aren't any different. 1/6th scale toys put a major drain on your wallet, I probably could've traveled to Europe several times over if I hadn't been entrenched in the hobby for so long, it can definitely become all consuming. People shouldn't look at these things as investments, it's very easy to lose money because many people refuse to pay full price. You have to control your impulses, things can get out of hand very quickly, I've had moments where I cursed myself for not buying something, then to get it later on ebay paying a premium. If it's life or Hot Toys, you should choose life because they come and go, you only get one life.

Yep. I've decided to cut back a LOT . Space is a collector's #1 undefeatable enemy!

The funny thing is KeCo, the maddness of collecting makes me preform at work on new levels to get my next promotion. It sounds crazy but what im trying to say is, you can always use emotions to your advantage. 😅🎉

OG collector right here. I got my first hot toys figure in 2008 with the DX01 Joker. I have not stopped collecting one sixth scale since. I had a few years here and there that were silent. But for the most part once I started in this hobby, it has been a chase. I want the next figure to put in the collection next to his buddy in the collection 😂😂 Right now, I get third party figures because of the price. I can't collect the way I used to. Not that I've seen too many things that I want from hot toys. But there has been a few that caught my eye. Either way I wish I had this knowledge of collecting back then from this video. But that was 14 years ago 😮🤔🤔😱😱🤯🤯🤯 Hot Toys was brand new to the world of collecting. Thank you for your videos, they're always a great watch and listen

  • @Justice4Thanos

This is so true haha. Especially buying figures just because they look ''cool'', they will always end up at the bottom and they probably be sold in the end ;)

I'll admit that when I first started a couple of years ago I went a bit overboard with my purchases though I did always focus on Marvel and DC characters and nothing else. My latest purchase of the Avengers Hulk from Japan set me back a pretty penny but I had been pining for it for a long while and I finally pulled the trigger. I think that I have been able to restrain myself pretty well (considering I'm close to 50 years old) and only go for characters that I feel are "essential" for me to have in the collection not go and buy every figure that comes out just for the sake of having it. Good video that makes people sit and think a bit. Always good to sit and think about where you are going in any aspect of life.

  • @nonametofame

It really comes down to buying and collecting for yourself, or to boast to other collectors. I've seen the same in the home theater hobby, which can be insanely expensive. Many have to go through heart break and debt to discover it's an empty chase.

  • @luisjimenez8424

another excellent Keco video, excellent points that we should all follow

  • @HowYaFigure

Great video and information, man. “The chase never ends.” A point you made that I really like and remind myself of, I couldn’t wait to get this figure in, then I finally get it, so enjoy it, don’t immediately go to get the next thing, enjoy the figures you get and the ones you have. Great info for me as a newer 1/6 collector!

  • @rbarryswanson

I’ve been trying to talk myself into a $129 bottle of Blanton’s -another good video✔️

  • @myronspokedex

For me I kinda had to step away from my collecting hobby because my wife’s car got stolen from her workplace, so we’ve been car shopping and found the vehicle we wanted. I’ve been doing a lot of research on cars lately and got hooked into the car world, but not for collecting but more of a knowledge standpoint on how to maintain your car and etc. I still have a ton of figures on preorders and might have to cancel some of them so that I can put money towards the new vehicle.. sacrifices had to be made because let’s be realistic, a car is more important and useful compared to a figure itself. I hope my example helps out with what you’ve been saying all along Keco; priority over your hard earned money!

  • @smallvillefan72

  • @volatiletimes663

I think for your next vid you should do a deep dive into Inart and JND. (Btw I am kidding 😂)

  • @JeremyPulumbarit

I just watched this video after purchasing the new Catwoman 2.0. That “burning pocket” syndrome is real. You hit the nail on the head Keco, I hope it wasn’t me just trying to satisfy my fix. I hope I’m happy with it once it arrives (I’m a huge TDK trilogy fan).

  • @Son-Star01

Brilliant video as always. I can relate to most things you have said in this video 😅

  • @dbg5081

Love the point you made when talking about black Adam
