Wishbone historians are saying that Joe really was around 16-17 during the filming of this episode! That's not unreasonable at all.
I gotta stop trying to guess people's ages, why does everyone look so old?
"what makes Halloween special" its televoid
and also the stomach churning brutal foods
Damn, I thought he was around 20
my name is joe and funnily enough I'm 16 during the filming of this episode
Flamingos!
Haunted rim sounds dirty
Mulambo toilet rim
Mulambo that’s because that’s the word for when you go down on a ghost
*careless whisper starts playing* ;)
So does "Happy H'ween".
i mean i'd wanna make my h'ween happy
Great, now I can't stop snickering every time the guy says "Haunted Rim."
Jesus, warn me before you scare the shit out of me with those Halloween decorations!
Plane Straggle *pees pants*
I'm in a panic
XD This is the best comment ever! Can I give you a virtual hi five?
Alan YaKnow yea man *slap*
YEAH HOLY FUCK
dude, the [loser] alarm was so realistic, I thought it happened in the movie - No joke
I thought it was real also
@Eternia oof same
Yes
lol me too
@@seanjhonson1921 we have the same profile pic 😂
I loved Wishbone so much as a kid when I got my first dog I named him after Wishbone. He wasn't a Jack Russell like in the show, he was a Rat terrier instead--but I did read books to him when I was learning to read (I distinctly remember reading Watership Down and Harry Potter 1 and 2 to him). He was a great dog--was able to sit still for a long period of time for me to read to him and was very gentle and loving.
Rathdrgnknight is he dead?
I'm sorry. :\
I'm so glad you got to experience man's best friend even if they may have passed.
A lot of bookstores and libraries have "read to dogs" events where kids who are too embarrassed to make mistakes reading out loud in front of humans can read to a friendly dog
I had a Rat Terrier too and everyone thought he was a Jack Russel
Brb... Gotta go give my dog a cuddle
that put me in the christmas spirit
Thegameres how many times have I told you it isn't Christmas yet. ;)
its christmas all year long.
Felis Navidad amigos
I saw some beer cans with christmas setting like 3 Days ago so its christmas aaand it snowed today in Poland so yeah
Dr. Hand Pocket will surely give me nightmares for weeks.
I always appreciated that Wishbone tried to tell a somewhat uncompromising version of the books. They would have characters actually die, the same ways as in the novels.
I remember the episode for Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde actually ended with Jekyll killing himself. It's a fairly dark ending for a kid's TV show but at the same time, it's what made the show memorable.
Missed out on probably the spookiest moment of this episode. When they go in the creepy house Joe sees the eyes he saw as a kid at the bottom of the stairs and then a cat runs up them and everyone is relieved as he realizes he was afraid of a cat all this time. But after they leave the viewers see the eyes again as a low creepy moaning can be heard. That honestly freaked me out as a kid.
Drakin Kovar OMG that part freaked me out!
That freaks me out as an adult lol
I'm right there with ya! Sometimes when I'm looking down a dark hallway, I'll imagine those glowing green eyes staring back at me.
I think I forgot about that for almost two decades. But I remember now. O_O
I'm still more terrified of Gooey Gus from Ghost Writer. I'll take the eyes over Gus any day.
Wishbone was my life as a kid. I used to check out the movies from my local library when I could.
SwankyBox shit was my jam on pbs and I would do tht too
I actually never heard of it prob cause I'm 14
Wishbone made me want to read, and then when I got the Wishbone version of the book, I'd just play with the flipbook picture of him in the corner.
Honestly, PBS should revisit some of their older ideas from back in the day. Wishbone, Bill Nye, and many of their other shows back then were both educational and fun, and to a kid, that's important. Make learning fun again!
Filip Martinez I completely forgot about renting movies from the library. I used to do that all the time. Lmao; I get nostalgia boners for the weirdest shit
"If you love my haunted rim, you'll love my scavenger hunt"
So that's what they call it nowadays
5:32 I thought that was a real “loser alert”
Same.
Got 'em
At least we know Joe loves Basketball, but as for Ben, it's still a mystery.
Doesnt he like computers?
He probably likes baseball
His dad likes Tuna Noodle.
Kevin Healey MY FAVORITE
Shiro-Luna if only Ben had a basketball tattoo on his face
I have been greatly enjoying Ian's editting: plus his personality is more prominent over the years.
His videos are still very relaxed, but has been fantastically put together with Ian's comedy.
I love it.
I've kinda stopped watching a lot of the other youtubers who do parody reviews, they just started to feel kind of stale. Moose on the otherhand feels as fresh as ever.
Not gonna name names, but Brutalmoose feels genuine, where many others feel pandering and trite. I still like them though, even if I don't like their channels as much anymore.
Shut up nerd (I like his editing too. super unique)
I'm jealous of his Mystery Science Theater collection.
I vaguely recall this. Though I'm pretty sure I never caught it in syndication. I legitimately think the last time I ever watched Wishbone was the year it ended.
That being said, I like Wishbone's VA. He does a surprisingly good job at sounding like how I'd imagine a dog would sound if they could voice their every thought (minus the bizarre knowledge of human literature).
I look forward to Brutalmoose videos. This channel is really underrated.
demlottboyz not really
10/10 ign
absolutely agree 100% vastly underrated compared to other channels of a similar type
"Share this video, if you know a Wishbone fan, send them a link."
-- Don't tell me what to do past Ian.
But what if it's present Ian telling you what to do? Or future Ian! WooOOOoOoooooOOOooo!!!
Wishbone was my childhood. I remember that it came on when I had to go to Girl Scout meetings as a kid, and I would beg my mom to let me stay home from meetings so I could watch the show sometimes. My favorite episodes were Journey to the Center of the Earth, the Purloined Letter, and Hound of the Baskervilles. The show actually got me interested in classic literature, and I have since read many of the books that were featured in these episodes.
I love your review. I hope to see you talk about more Wishbone episodes in the future!
The real spooky thing is that Wishbone lived for 13 years. *THUNDER & LIGHTNING SFX*
Were those SFX made with help from your lighting team?
Yo my dogs like 15

Seems legit

Sounds legit.
Pufferfish Planet OOOoOoOoOH! My diarrhea is acting up. FLAMINGOES!!
I mean, same
I had a jack russell terrier, they can be bend time.
Wishbone was my childhood! I still have the plush of him that I would watch the show with, from when I was a kid.
Rena Ami Akai Same!!
Was joe a scarycat in the whole serie?
Emilie, I honestly cannot remember. I was watching the show probably while it was airing. I could ask my mother if she remembers, but she doesn't have too good of a memory. I was also born in '93, so I am surprised I remember watching the show and reading the books with that plush.
Aw thats cute :D
Our 1st grade teacher had us watch a lot of these, and I fell in love with Wishbone!
"Yeah, it's the best Halloween treat in Oakdale", implying that it has taken place before. Two minutes later:
"You ready for the Oakdale Sports and Games FIRST ANNUAL scavenger hunt?"
I used to have a stuffed version of wishbone that I loved. Also, this was my favorite episode. I would wait, and wait, and wait for it to rerun.
I've still got mine somewhere
Omg Ian! You should do that incredibly shitty Animorphs TV series!
I've never seen it before, but I've definitely wanted to watch/talk about it some time. I used to love the books.
Ian hearted this.
i t ' s h a p p e n i n g
But the 90s hair. And the quips. How dare.
As a kid, the idea of Yeerks really freaked me out, kind of made me nervous to put anything near my ear or have my ears underwater. I only read the books though, never saw the show.
YES PLEASE
Tuna noodle?
Anything but this.
Throw a Chair ?
It's TUNA NOODLE MY FAVORITE!
Why does it hurt
I am so tickled you also watched Wishbone as a child! And reviewing the special! I hope in the near future you'll do another wishbone episode. :)
When I saw the title of this vid my jaw fell off, I mean, I completely forgot Wishbone existed. But yet I watched it nearly every other day or so when I was little in the 90s. Parents recorded a lot of VHS over with pbs shows for me. And then I heard the op song and I was like...teleported back in time to when I'd go home and put the tape in with a snack. Jeez man.
Woah, fancy seeing you here!
Joe is the most complex character in Wishbone canon. I like how it deals with his ptsd and shows he can overcome it and get into the house and win the cash.
As a kid who loved reading, jack russels, and TV, and who was also too poor for video games, Wishbone was one of my favorite shows.
5:58 "If you like my haunted rim..."
Excuse me, I am an immature manchild.
Hehhehehehehhehehehehhehe...
"Then you'll LOVE my scavenger hunt!"
😏😉
Yeah the scavenger hunt part really drives it home
Remember that Wishbone episode where Joan of Arc burned to death?
That was weird
I'm not joking. I had the novelization and everything
Hey, no weirder than Juan Diego seeing Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Actually that's real damn cool.
I had that book as well! It was the only thing related to Wishbone that I had
Well, it is educational.
My favorite Wishbone was the one about the Hound of the Baskerville it got me really interested in Sherlock Holmes and actually made me pick up the books and read them
Ah, Wishbone had one of those theme songs that made you run to the TV when you heard it, much like DuckTales, Gargoyles, or Batman: The Animated Series (at least for me). I loved the Wishbone show and books!
Well, DuckTales and Wishbone's themes actually made me _run_ from my TV to avoid getting them stuck in my head, but I came rushing back to watch when they were done.
I hear that a lot about DuckTales, so fair enough! I guess you could say they did a smashing job with those theme songs...you remember them, at least.
Right!? I used to record a lot of those shows on VHS from TV when I could. I had a little Wishbone plush dog, he had a couple of outfits. Romeo and Sherlock, if I'm not mistaken.
The only episode I remember.
Whaaaat not the Odyssey?
OMG I remember the teachers in my elementary school playing this around Halloween. I was looking for this for years, I only remembered a few snippets and now I finally found it!
FINALLY somebody remembers Wishbone! I used to have a VHS tape with the Robin Hood episode when I was younger. Watching the theme song again gave me an overload of nostalgia.
Your content is soooo refreshing! I'm so tired of all the over saturated content nowadays.
Yeah, and I think he's got the hue just about right too!
Tf2 RUclipsrs
watched this episode of Wishbone when I was like 8-9 and it scared the shit out of me at the time. All I can remember was how at the very end they showed a set of glowing red eyes down a flight of stairs (not shown in the actual video here) and to this day I have not watched it since cause of some quality ptsd. I also had a similar fantasy of getting thrown and amazing Halloween party like this. Unfortunately it never came to for wishing. great video!
Ian is the diamond of RUclips. It might be hard to find but once you do find it, your life is instantly improved. No one else is more under appreciated.
Hey Ian. I'm a little older than you and most of your viewers, the stuff you review is mostly stuff my younger siblings got into. But you make it sound so nostalgic anyway, it's a real achievement. Keep it up, buddy.
Joe looks about fucking twenty years old. What the fuck.
Great video as always though.
Manmadespacecraft He was around 16 when they filmed this.
"it's a really neat feeling to be on a dark set."* Weird long pause*
What?
I loved the fun, silly way Wishbone introduced literature to kids. My favorite was always the Phantom of the Opera episode, which was so much darker than others! Please do a video on that episode one day, Moose! (You’re my favorite RUclipsr by the way! I love watching your videos and how diverse the content is!)
I remember being terrified of that one.
I can’t believe I forgot this show! I think my elementary school Spanish teacher showed us an episode about Don Quixote. Rip Soccer, what a good boy
I was so convinced I'd hallucinated this entire series for years, thank you!
I was with you, until I'd heard about this series on TVTropes.
Yeah! A new vid AND it's about WISHBONE!
Nostalgia overload for me!
Cipher Revenant can you give us lore for Joe
That moment when you realize you can still sing along to WIshbone's theme song even though it's been 19 years since you last heard it.
I'm so sad right now.
That’s the power of nostalgia
Omg tysm. Me and my sister used to love this show. Hearing that intro opened an area of my mind that has been dormant for probably 20 years. Great vid man.
A sexy golden retriever reviewing Wishbone? I'm in.
The Secret Life of Alex Mack was a very memorable 90s show! I'd love to see a review of it ;)
I keep forgetting that show existed. For me, that tends to happen with a lot of 90s Nickelodeon shows. Some (like Hey Arnold! and Rocko's Modern Life) I tend to never forget, but I do forget stuff like Angry Beavers and Alex Mack
I used to think she was so cute. I was like, 10 btw.
I vaguely remember that it got surprisingly intense at some parts. I think there was an episode where everyone had to go through the scanner to find the person with the powers and Alex had to find a way out of it.
I don't remember if it had an ending, though I know 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd never had a conclusion which still pisses me off. :(
And Larisa Oleynik is gorgeous lol
I agree
Oh! Ian! You should do the live action Sabrina The Teenage Witch series from 1996-2003. It’s gonna be a nostalgia fest for a lot of people, plus, it’s honestly not a bad show in my opinion. I’d like to see what you think of it. Love ya dude.
I watched the animated series.
Plus...Soleil Moon Frye was in the later years.
Pretty much my lifelong crush
BEGONE SIMP
Good quality video once again, I feel like Ian is on a roll with his channel here talking us through things. I'm starting to feel like he could be talking about any old thing and the quality just comes from how much effort he puts in. All of the videos just have a really nice feel and flow to them.
The pizza I ordered just came in the mail and I was searching for something to watch before I started eating! Perfect BrutalMoose timing!
What in the world kinda pizza comes in the mail!?
Your pizza boy is a dick for putting it in the mailbox like that
Donacdum wait thats not normal? Oh noooo....
Justin Rydelek This comment chain is the best.
IAN WE NEED MORE WISHBONE THIS SHOW ACTUALLY LOOKS GOOD
*Establishing Communism* is that how the show was or are you just talking about my comment I would perfectly be ok with just one more episode covering the show it generally looks intresting and I was surprised it passed me by when I generally enjoy shows like Bill Nie and Magic School bus
I remember wishbone! It was such a good educational show. I’ve always loved wishbone’s voice!
Ian’s self-deprecating editing gives me so much life ❤️
Wishbone was such a childhood fave, like, I watched it every day after school so this is a HUGE treat for me dude. My favourite parts of Wishbone was always the behind the scenes, the literature besides. I'm really liking the old vhs reviews and the editing is awesome as usual
I loved when they showed how they carved and weathered foam for cave walls.
I loved Wishbone as a child. I wish it were still on the air. Way better than most of the stuff playing on PBS these days.
I agree. It was a really good show. Same with others like Bill Nye the Science Guy
they feed kids absolute gArbage on pbs these days. pretty sad
I'd say a lot of that comes from the diminishing budget and outsourced production of the station today
Wishbone taught me how to roll my eyes. I'm serious.
"If you know a Wishbone fan, send them a link!"
That fan was me! Seeing this in my notifications practically made my Halloween. Wishbone actually made me pick up my first ever dive into classic literature- Frankenstein! I was only in 3rd grade at the time. I kept getting in trouble in school because I couldn't put the book down when I was supposed to be doing my work. Good times!
Alright. That pup in the old timey coat is the cutest thing I've seen all week
WISHBONE WAS MY FAVORITE CHILDHOOD SHOW OMG IM SO HYPE
Mine were PB&J Otters and Dragon Tales.
I preferred between the lions growing up
Mine were sesame street, reading rainbow, and magic school bus
One of my favorite RUclipsrs talking about one of my favorite shows FUCK YES.
huh, an upload of the entire episode was in my recommended videos list... i know what I'm doing after this, now.
thanks for the memories, Ian.
Great video I always get excited when I see you've uploaded a new video
I fucking love wishbone. And i remember this one the most. So so dope that you're doing this. I really love you too. This is so dope. I keep coming back to this wishbone episode year after year! Wow. Dope. Dank

Wishbone was life, man. That series is held in high regard with me from my childhood years.
Thank you for the nostalgia trip on this one :)
To this day, the theme song to this show still gets stuck in my head. I loved it so much when I was a kid!! Great pick, Ian!!
Who wants to see a Brutalmoose review of an Arthur episode?
Meanwhile, PBG reviews an old computer game.
I would honestly love for PBG to review at the very least the first season of Arthur and discuss his memories of that season
With guest PBG!
Definitely! That would be a great collab!
Wishbone was my JAM as a kid. I can't believe I haven't thought about it for so long!!
the music at the end is so calming. All the music in this episode is great actually
I can't believe you also watched Wishbone! Part of me thought I had imagined the show or something, nobody I knew watched it but it was my jam as a kid. I spent many Saturday mornings on the floor in the living room watching Wishbone and eating cereal, and this episode was one of my absolute faves! Thanks for the nostalgia bomb, Ian! Great video as always. :)
Ian you had me at wishbone. Definitely one of my all time favorite tv shows as a kid. A show that i made sure to pass down to my kids and now they love it too! This really is a staple of the 90's.
PS. RIP soccer, you will be missed and forever be remembered by all of nerdkind.
The only thing I ever remember about Wish Bone is...AWWW PUPPY IN CUTE CLOTHS! I don't know what's going on but PUPPPY!!!!!
This is some good shit my dude I love that you don't just review the really well known nostalgic stuff. I love watching your vids and thinking "ohh yeah I remember that!!"
Yesss! I loved Wishbone as a kid and this was one of my favorite episodes. This was my first introduction to The Legend of Sleepy Hallow and it's so nice to see it covered here! Nice job, Ian!
#GlueForTheWin
oh boy, another VHS review. good stuff ian!
All the laughing in your video seem so genuine.
Which makes the video WAAAY more enjoyable.
Goodjob Ian!
Man, Wishbone was a good chunk of my childhood. I remember having the bedsheets when I was little. That's how much I loved it. Good times, man.
You didn't have to let us know that the dog died!!!! I could have continued my life in blissful ignorance. :(
I know! I felt a little sad when it showed up too
if he was still alive he'd be like 30 years old though
It was kind of an unspoken inevitability. This was a 90's show and while it was filmed the dog was an adult, so....
I know, still sad, but it happens to everybody eventually.
Gobing I don't think they did say it..
He's been dead for over 16 years, these things happen to all of us eventually.
Pleaaase keep using the Chad Warden soundbyte
Wishbone and ghostwriter was my jam. I’m still waiting on a season release of wishbone
Well, Ian, I am excited to be here and ready to listen to you talk about a whole lot of cool stuff from there! Cool to see you grow the hair back out, I remember when I first found your channel, you were only 3 or 4 videos into the start of the "haircut" era
I haven't heard the Wishbone theme song in a dozen years. Such nostalgia!
Omfg!! I remember this exact episode. I loved wishbone as a kid and one halloween I got a wishbone plushy with a VHS that had this on it.
Wow this video brought back so many memories. Thanks Ian!
this was my absolute favorite episode when I was really little. i would always check out the tape from the library and watch it on repeat. this brings me back dude
Wishbone was my fave thing when I was a kid. I remember going to the library a lot and borrowing a copy of one of the Wishbone episodes on VHS. I’m going to have to rewatch all of this show again thanks to this video.
This was always my favorite episode of Wishbone. My parents took me to see that Tim Burton version when I was younger (and it scared the hell out of little child me). This version fed it to me in a way I could digest because cute doggo!
I even had the novelized version of the episode.
When I was younger, my family had a little auto horse racer game and one lane was broken, so the horse would always lose. My dad named the horse glue-paste and that's how 7 year old me learned that horses who lost races use to be turned into glue..... It was no holds bar in my family.
Loved this show as a kid! Totally forgot about it til I saw your video, thank you for the rush of nostalgia bro! I actually used to love this series so much, I had a little wishbone plushie that I'd play with all the time.
I actually did pick up several books because of Wishbone growing up. This was one of them, so I'm really glad you covered it and reminded me, I had completely forgotten that this was what kicked off my fascination with Sleepy Hollow.
Much love to brutalmoose.
I remember watching this Wishbone episode in class in 6th Grade on Halloween. This is truly a bizarrely random blast from the past when I saw the thumbnail today. I was like, “Ah shit it’s Wishbone boi!”
You know Ian, its amazing how many things you introduce to me that I would've loved as a kid, but anyways thanks for sharing them with us all the time!
Brutalmoose your really get quality content out quick now keep up the good work
Man, a new brutalmoose movie review, and the movie has an adorable dog in it? Yes please.
Brutalmoose for sure is my favourite RUclipsr! :3
Wishbone was one of my absolute favorite shows as a kid; I was (and still am) really into literature, so it was a great first exposure to classics. I'm fairly certain it was my first exposure to the tale of Faust, Don Quixote, and Ivanhoe, and helped shape my taste in books. A cute dog in a costume can be so inspirational!
Ian just looks so happy, I love it
