Yo 2020s kids need this show to reboot. As is no extra special effects. 20s adult here
37 years old and this is still an awesome show. I wish they’d put it on some streaming channel.
62years old🤣🎃
Same, bed bound so here I am ,37 snuggled up with hot cocoa, and my blanket on this Halloween 😅
I got lucky and got it on dvd.
They sure don't make TV shows like the used to. 22 years later. Still love it every time.
I would definitely agree with you on that dude that was one of the best tv shows in the history of television in where they would talk about the way they would make the actual show
Watching this and I'm 31. This reminds me of kindergarten. My parents had split up and me and my mom went to live with my grandma and I started school out there. It just reminds me of my grandma waiting for me at the bus stop and walking me home, then I'd go inside and watch this. I miss my grandma so much
That's sweet, a very lovely memory.
Arthur , wishbone, Mister Rogers , zoboomafoo, reading rainbow , and the list goes on . The memories I have from those shows . They taught me a lot as a kid 😊
Same
Gotta add to the list: Zoom and Ghost Writer☺️
Also have to add: The Magic School Bus! 😄
I love these shows too 💕
@@mathewcox9371 yes zoom was great too. Reading rainbow also.
This Is So PERFECT For The Start Of The Fall Season It Literally Takes Me Back To The 90s And It Feels Like Im 9 Again And Its Almost Halloween......Pure Joy!!!
I didn't even think it'd be on here lol. I used to rent it from the library
thats why im watching it!
Aww the days of clean shows that took you far away
I'm 38 and I'm still love this show
Me too and I'm 39. 😊
My... my childhood oh my gosh my childhood! I honestly don't think anything else could trigger childhood memories like this show God I wish it was still on.
At 37 yrs old, I couldn't help but feel such peace, calm, joy and nostalgia. What an enjoyable episode! Thank you for sharing.
I'm 39 and I absolutely loved watching Wishbone❤ wonderful memories
@@ScarlettEmerald4 I'm also 39 and I love this show too. Of course, this was back when shows were good and clean and not full of disgusting garbage like it is now. Such nostalgia.
@@ashleyr6809I agree 💯
I'm 34 and this is just as good as it was 25 years ago.
37, and same
36 and me too! Lol
I always found it so funny that Wishbone could smell the cookie from far away. LOL.
grew up with this and other PBS shows and still watch this every Halloween good to be a 90s kid
I miss seeing wishbone. This is my childhood memories
If Wishbone could talk he'd make an awesome Literacy teacher.
Well. he could be a literacy teacher for pets.
@@ijustgottahotdog thats cool im sure he could.🙋
What's weird is one of the characters from this episode actually responds to Wishbone when he runs past her to get to the cookie, in the beginning. Wishbone says, "Hi Wanda," and she says, "Hello." So, it makes you wonder about the rules of this universe. Do some particularly creative or insightful people hear Wishbone talk, or does everyone and few of them ever respond, or does no one ever hear him? Interesting. I like that the creators put little intriguing bits like that in the show (though, they could have just as easily been script errors or the like, haha).
@@saltyk2795 In the story bits, the people understand him as if he was really talking since he's playing a character, as opposed to the "real world" in which he's a regular dog.
@@purplemist7 Sure, but that was my point. I used to think the same way, but the Wanda character exists in the real world and still responds to Wishbone when he greets her; further, in the story bits, sometimes the other characters don't act as if they can hear him, even though he is supposed to be just another character in those worlds. That sort of thing is what makes it all a bit weird to me, lol. But, whatever. It's a fun show!
I am 64 & love Wishbone with all my heart. My dog lookks much like Wishbone. This Wishbone pup melts my heart & I have a framed poster & a cherished t shirt of precious little Wishbone. ♥️💋🙋♀️
Arguably the only reason I was ever interested in literature is because if this show. Ahh the memories.
Haha, same here. This series made me interested in reading other books and not just the books assigned to us in school.
me 2 lol
pct87 seriously because of this show I went into literature and now I've been published in 3 books
Gabby Jurado why are you lying about publishing books? You shouldn't do that.
Keira Croston never said I published books. I've been published in books. didn't lie
my theatre friends dad is Larry Brantley. the voice of wishbone. I flipped out today
PhotoPhot what?! you are so lucky! ask him for pointers!!
omg that has,to be the coolest thing ever to know him. I am in love with this show.
I definitely would have flipped out ! That would make my day 😁😊 I loved wishbone as a kid and still watch it today
Caleb Ross 4:19 my son is actually famous friends with 3 people:Larry Brantley wishbone Scott Eastwood the famous son of Clint Eastwood and lady antebellums Charles Kelly
😯 too cool
I remember when it aired on the local stations, PBS I think, before I ever knew there was cable or satellite TV lol. I was always eager for school to end, so I could rush home to watch it. I think this is where my love of mysteries came from. What a great time to grow up in.
Damn!! I remember watching wishbone back in the mid 90s as a kid. 40 years old now and i can honestly say.........TIME SUCKS!!
OOH MY GOD!!!! THIS TAKES ME BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS:):) LOVED THE PBS LINE UP BACK THEN. WISHBONE, ARTHUR, ZOOM ALL GREAT SHOW!!! THE YOUTH NEEDS MORE SHOWS LIKE THESE.....YOUTH IS THE ENGINE OF THE WORLD!!!!
Nope , the youth nowadays gets to see black people run over white people on Tik tok . Kinda wish we could go back to the 1990s, huh ?
OMG I LOVED THIS SHOW AS A KID!!!
Same!!
you should still like it
@@JamesAtLarge SAME 😭
I started watching Wishbone when I was a brand new teacher. Although I was already an adult, I loved the show, and the whole town in which it was set. I used to show Wishbone to my third graders and talk about the books that inspired the episodes. Now, looking back I have wonderful memories of all of the PBS shows from the time, and the early days of the internet, when kids and teachers were all discovering the places we could go with a computer.
wishbone is the reason i got a jack russell :3
Wishbone was my reason for wanting and getting a Jack Russel
me too!!
I watch this every Halloween. Still makes me feel just like it did when I saw it as a kid. Wishbone is one of the best educational shows ever made.
it's 2023, and I was just reminded of this episode came to seek it out. I remember this coming on back in '98? I remember being so amazed to be seeing "Wishbone" on at a later hour than I was used to -- it was like some liminal space experience. Memorable episode from a very memorable show. Happy October.
A bit later than I wanted, but I finally have the free time to get to my annual tradition. Well, it's time to enjoy the nostalgia. See you next year!
such nostalgia. I loved watching wishbone when I got home from school. ugh totally miss being a kid in the 90s
Dude I loved wishbone. Plus I learned so much about old stories like Sherlock homes etc that I wouldn't have otherwise
Magic, excitement, fantasy, thrills, and adventures. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow with Wishbone as Ichabod Crane and the headless horseman. This is a thrilling show for Halloween. It is immortalized and it never gets old. Beware of the headless horseman coming out in the night of All Hollow's Eve.
Wishbone wearing hats will always be awesome lol
Can we just take a minute to talk about how Wishbone Yeets over that bench?😂
32 years old and still watching this every Spooky Season.
I used to watch this when I was a kid with my grandma. Memories.
Thanks for creating this, PBS. This makes kids want to read.
I'm 52, my sons are 26 and 32. I love watching things they watched and/or we watched together. 😊😢😊
Same and 57 and daughter is 30. She is in Sleepy Hollow with her husband as I type this! And she and her husband are watching this now, she texted me to let me know how they were chilling tonight
@@GhostofSicklesleg God bless you and yours.
That elderly couple looked like they were signalling Brom to dress up as the Headless Horseman to drive away Ichabod. Especially when the lady said, "You know, um, we're a bit overdue for another sighting of the Headless Horseman." She put a lot of emphasis on the words "Headless Horseman." Brom looked like he was disregarding their words or knew what they were hinting at.
Just here watching Wishbone and reading all these nostalgic comments ✨ life is good 😊
Omg! The things I never knew I needed in adulthood
42:16 I may be a grown man reliving my childhood, but those eyes still scare me.
Our imaginations can run away from us to make us feel so scared.
But on this scene from 50:08,
The eyes actually came from the cat.
Halloween can give you a scare,
As long as it’s with your friends.
At least it’s not a demon.
I remember watching this episode back in elementary school during October. It makes me feel so nostalgic. I love it!
When Wishbone started running at the start I actually died of laughing 😂
If only
I miss watching Wishbone. It was actually a pretty smart, well written show.
This was my childhood. It got me into literature, and to be an English major. :P thanks for the upload and the memories (yes I am an adult and rewatching this)
Wishbone got me reading books
I've said it before, but I'm shocked they never did an hour long Christmas special using "Christmas Carol".
+Jennifer Hiemstra Probably religious sensitivity.
Who knows if that's true here, but funny thing is, there's really no specific religious undertone in CC. It's only in generalties, like how there's an afterlife that we'll endure and WHAT we endure in that afterlife depends on how we lived our earthly life. Practically every religion believes that, so it's not cornering one specific one. Who knows. This show only ran for two season anyway, not enough canine told literature for my taste ;)
Jennifer Hiemstra Since I don't remember more than 10 episodes and likely won't watch the entire series, I guess I don't really mind. Don't get me wrong, I loved this show. I'm just not a fan anymore so I'm okay with how much exists.
You're probably right, after all it is the "Christmas" Carol, also if my thinking is correct, wishbone was made in the 90's which had its own flavour of the dreaded P.C.standards (political correctness just in case you weren't aware).
Ben Berlin If you're gonna abbreviate something and then say what it stands for, you might as well just write it out in the first place instead of being condescending.
I watched this with my oldest son when he was little. Really miss my grown up babies
So many memories. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow was always my favorite ghost story as a kid. Would consume every version of it I could. Those eyes in that house always terrified me.
Wow, great childhood memories. I’m 32 😂
I'm 56 and I remember watching this in the 90s.
Kids wandering alone on Halloween. Not like today.
I now understand how my parent feel when they talk about the "good ol' days."
My nephew used to watch this show when he was little but I admit I used to love this show when I was babysitting.
Some of the best times of my life...I couldn't wait to watch this show after school! ❤️
This show is the reason why I want a Jack Russell terrier like Wishbone. And I would name him Wishbone.
Here again for Spooktober! Again, after all these years, this show holds strong. So glad to have grown up with Wishbone.
oh, I love this series. This is a classic.
I used to have a jack russell terrier who resembled soccer. He passed away last year and stumbling upon this show made me miss him even more. :(
😢
wish i could find the entire wishbone collection on dvd, especially this one
There are some DVDs out there, but they only have a few episodes on them sadly.
check a torrent site. I found them all there.
The reason there is a collection of all of them is because several years ago, I started a website that collected all of the Wishbone episodes. Many episodes that did not have a DVD or any release of any kind were recorded by fans who found the site and gave them to me. The site has since gone down, but they have been uploaded by other users on youtube, and many are in various torrent packs on various sites. I do still have the original copies of all the episodes though. -- Just some trivia I thought would be interesting :)
+Sir Cornwall Thank you so much, Sir Cornwall! I was in a coma in the early 2000's, and Wishbone is what I watched to get better and focus my interest. It meant the world to me to find them all. That little dog saw me through a very difficult time; you helped me find him again. Happy Halloween!
me to.This was my childhood. It came o when i was 12 in 1995 after Ghostwriter was canceled. i miss that show. why did they pick one and not do both. i loved both of them. when i got used to wishbone to.
I had a blast in the 90's. Wishbone, Goosebumps etc...
What a blast from the past! I grew up with this, and can't thank you enough for posting it.
Wishbone is timeless. Watched the episodes with my nieces and nephew. They loved it!
Used to watch Wishbone with my kids. 70 years old now and still enjoy Wishbone.
What type of sick person downvotes "Wishbone?"
I not only watched these, as an adult, I taped them. And showed them to my employees. (With fully paid wages.)
At one investigative meeting, I just happend to speak the phrase "What's the story, Wishbone?" New / young employee Fritz was amazed. Because he watched them as a child, and recalled that line.
Bruh wishbone made history SO FUN
RIP wishbone 🦴🐶
Hi name was really Soccer.
Almost 4am I can't sleep and omg nostalgia lol I'm 31 and my brother is 32 I watched it here and there when I was little but my brother was a big fan lol so many memories he would watch it non stop
I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY THIS WHEN I'M A TEACHER
One of my favorite Halloween stories from when my son was little. I love Wishbone!
Here I am a 31 year old man watching Wishbone lmao 😂 Talk about nostalgia! I miss this show.
I'm 32. Wishbone is one of my most treasured childhood memories.
Me too!
I watched this episode before, and I gotta say, the scavenger hunt sequences in this episode felt like something out of a Scooby-Doo mystery. Just picture Joe Talbot as Shaggy, Samantha Kepler as Velma/Daphne, and David Barnes as Fred. That scene where Wishbone goes missing, I thought Joe was going to parody Shaggy's famous "Scooby-Doo, where are you?!" catchphrase and say, "Wishbone, where are you?" But I guess I was wrong
50:29 is my earliest traumatic childhood memory from a piece of media. I was 4 years old when this episode aired, and those monster eyes have haunted me for at least 25 years. Now that I've rewatched it, they will haunt me for at least another 25 years.
Oh man, I had the books and the little stuffed animal as a kid. Childhood memories!
Wishbone! I still have my plush wishbone toy that I cried for in a Dennys when I was a kid.
Grown now and I watch this every year around Halloween!! memories!
The memories, wishbone, shining time station, mister Rodgers, barney, gulla gulla Island, puzzle place, Arthur, Bill nye ,reading rainbow 🌈
This was one of my favorite shows.
Back in the mid late 90s and early 2000s we had a ton of tapes for our kids growing up. I mean they could have watched the new show or movie every day on our VHS tapes. There were several favorites, but my favorite one was this. I always enjoyed it so much watching it with them. I would slip it in whenever I could, lol.
I'm 24 and spending my 2019 Halloween night getting drunk and (at the moment) watching this episode of Wish Bone
I've no regrets. So many good memories from this show.
Tbh The Legend of Sleepy Hollow scared the everloving bageezus out of me as a kid. It still kinda freaks me out. This show was so good and kept me super interested in reading! Honestly, if not for this show, I wouldn’t have discovered so many amazing books! This show and little dog will always hold a special place in the heart. 💕🐶💕
I used to LOVE this show, had the stuffed Wishbone and his action figures
Normally I absolutely hate movies with talking animals, but this one is actually kinda cute for some reason.
That's one talented jack russell terrier.
This animal doesn't really talk. It's his inner monologues.
This and “Night of the Headless Horseman” are my two favorite renditions of the Legend Of Sleepy Hollow! Not that there’s anything wrong with Disney and Bing Crosby’s rendition. “You Can’t Reason With A Headless Man” is still one of my favorite songs!
Whoa, Joe must've grown in these shows. I do remember watching the show when it first debuted in 1995.
I remember watching an episode of this show, when I was a little kid.
I've watch this every fall and then right before Halloween since yr 2000.
Me too! Totally a tradition for me!!
SAME!!! Wow… I thought I was the only one! 🤩🎃
Oh man, I have vivid memories about watching this on Halloween, waiting for it to get dark so I could Trick-or-Treat!
Amazing!
Those eyes in the dark terrified me when I was little
I loved Wishbone growing up! He was one of my favorite shows as a kid!
Wishbone makes me so happy. I just turned 35, but these bring back so many great memories. This was an excellent show.
Wishbone--what an actor!
I love wishbone I remember when they used to show us these and school kids nowadays will never know how awesome it was to watch a tape of this in school
This was what was on when I got home from school. I will always remember that even when I am 70.
This guy's pretty confident he's gonna win that gift certificate.
The part with the cat eyes in he dark traumatized me when I was little lol
well we never find out what those eyes actually were lol.
I don’t know if Joe thought it was a Bakeneko that scared him,
But it’s probably just a regular cat on 50:08.
@@Unknown_User174 I think it was probably a regular cat just made as terrifying as possible lol I definitely found the scene incredibly scary as a kid haha
I remember watching this one Halloween afternoon after school before going out to trick or treat. Good times!
The other Halloween-themed episodes of "Wishbone" were "Frankenbone" , "Mixed Breeds" (episode featuring "The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde" story), and "Pantin' at the Opera".
Cody Noble you can say that again!
Cody Noble I still do and I'm 40 hank 40!!
As a kid, those floating eyes in the dark terrified me to the point where whenever they came up, I would refuse to look at the screen.
I loved this show as a kid I'm crying!!
Nostalgia knife to the heart, man.
when was that. i was 12 or 12 and 1/2 back in 1995 i liked this show a lot.
I was born in 1991 but I don't know how old I was back then but I still love this show
Ahhh. I loved this show as a kid!!
THE SIMPLE FACT THIS IS ON HERE IS THE GREATEST THING EVER
Yup. ☺️
Longggggg time ago man I used to watch this back in the 90s man damn man how time flies I miss those days so much :"(
Huh.
