Tim Foust (Home Free bass) has said that growing up, he wanted to be just like Richard Sturbin (ORB bass), so getting to sing with him was a great honour.

Thanks for your reaction. This is such a great collaboration between Home Free & The Oak Ridge Boys. "Elvira" was a huge hit for The Oakridge Boys in 1981. You can see the great respect these 2 groups have for each other. The Oakridge Boys are mentors to Home Free & it is like they are passing the baton to a younger version of themselves. They have performed together on the Grand Ole Opry. Adam Rupp's vocal percussion is the best in the business. He can simulate drums & any other sounds perfectly. Home Free is my favorite a cappella group. They are so talented yet very humble guys.

Great reaction!! The Oak Ridge Boys are Mentors to Home Free.Home Free and The Oak Ridge Boys sang another song together with Jeffery East called Beautiful Star Of Bethlehem.
The Oak Ridge Boys are a Country/Gospel group started in 1943 in Oak Ridge Tennessee with the name Oak Ridge Quartet became popular Southern Gospel Singers in the 1950’s.Their group name changed to The Oak Ridge Boys in the 1960’s they sang gospel till the 1970’s then changed to country/gospel.They released Elvira in 1981.The title of the song was inspired not by the name of a woman, but by the name of a street in East Nashville, Tennessee. Was written and sung by Dallas Frazier in 1966.
Here’s a list of the Oak Ridge Boys
Duane Allen (lead singer) sitting next Rob
Joe Bonsall ( Tenor) next to Austin (Had now retired)
William Lee Golden (Baritone) White long beard
Richard Sterban (Bass) Sang as bass for Elvis for 2 yrs 1971/1972

This really gives me the sense of "Home Free Past" meeting "Oak Ridge Boys future".
The ORB's bass, Richard Sterban, sang bass for Elvis Presley early in his career. Home Free definitely collaborated with true country legends on this song--and I LOVE this collaboration❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

They have another collaboration with the Oak Ridge Boys on "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" - it was taped live (during Covid) and it's jaw=dropping. They also have collaborations with Alabama ("Christmas in Dixie"), 2 with Don McLean ("American Pie", ""Vincent"), Kenny Rogers ("Children Go Where I Send Thee") and 3 with Texas Hill ("Dreamer Live", "Go Tell it on the Mountain". "Given' Up on You").. Not counting their individual duets with others singers/groups.

Originally released by Dallas Fraser in 1966, this first hit the Billboard chart in 1978 when Rodney Crowell recorded it. The Oaks had a bigger hit with it in '81.
This is just a fun collab with both the Oak Ridge Boys and HF. Fresh version of an old favorite.
And I'm pretty sure Home Free's Tim Foust wouldn't say he could outdo legendary bass Richard Sterban.

Check out the video of Vaduz Rupps’ drum solo and then head to their cover of Folsum Prison Blues, Man of Consent Sorrow and then Mayday. I’m that order. Don’t do Go Rest High on that Mountain without a hanky.

Hello! Happy 4th of July! ❤🤍💙 Great video...my dad loved the Oak Ridge Boys and listened to this song a bazillion times! He would have loved Home Free...he was in a quartet with his brother and two cousins from the time they were kids until my dad's passing in 1990 @ 57 yrs old. Dad also loved the Statler Brothers ~ Counting Flowers on the Wall which Home Free remade freakishly well! It's almost INSANE how good they are! Another that I think is H.F.s best ever is Go Rest High on that Mountain (church session) (original by Vince Gill, who is my favorite country artist) Sorry...I ramble, anyway...love your videos...take care! 📻
