Their producer Darren Rust did the arrangement while they were on tour in Europe! Tim and Chance sing Bass, Rob(beard) & Austin(high tenor), & Adam Rupp beatboxer who ang It Is Well in the middle. You found an amazingly multitalented group… Can’t wait for your next home free reaction! Listen to End of the Road; Helplessly hoping; House Paety…Have fun!

A master class in 5-part harmony. Fabulous arrangement by Darren Rust, as usual. Sacred music is not my thing, but the first time I heard this it brought me to tears. Rob Lundquist, the fella who surprised you, has such a smooth, beautiful tenor. He can do so many things - there's rappin' Rob in their Butts Medley, R & B Rob in their cover of End of the Road, and opera Rob in a duet with Austin Brown on Nessum Dorma (that one is on Austin's channel). They are all so talented and versatile. Love these guys.

I've heard this song hundreds of times over my 77yrs and for me this is the most powerful, emotional rendition I've ever heard. I've listened to this by HF over and over and it still beings me to tears. No other rendition I've heard has left me so emotionally invested. This was filmed while HF was attending an Acapella convention in Europe, they were flying over Austria, inspired by the beauty, they decided to stop and record this song. This area was where "The Sound of Music" was filmed.

The best version I've heard of this song.❤
A song I grew up with because I come from a Christian family where my father and grandmother were pastors. My father, who had a beautiful voice, often sang this at home (in Dutch). Home Free sings this so beautifully in a great scenery that I let my mother (86) hear and show it a year ago. Now she wants to listen to it regularly and has suggested it to her church community to show it there. How Home Free sings it, you don't just hear it, you also feel it. And it's great that Adam Rupp also sings here.
Rob Lundquist is the one with beard and glasses

  • @nancyholter5646

The arrangement is masterful. And the performance of that arrangement is perfect. They have a range of about 6 octaves, but HF has had those close harmonies since forever.
So many reactors are surprised by Rob's tenor voice. But he has a powerful voice when he needs it - you should see his and Austin's take on Nessun Dorma.

The first one to sing, Tim, is the bass of the group. Tim has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low and high as well. Yeah, Rob (glasses) is a tenor and has a beautiful voice and can sing opera. You might enjoy Amazing Grace by them with Peter Hollens (another A cappella singer). Also, O Holy Night, Angels We Have Heard on High (great arrangement), Silent Night. They sing all genres too. Also Do You Hear What I Hear (arranged by their beatboxer) is great. Good one! You might really enjoy Vincent with Don McLean….it’s wonderful!

They filmed this when they were at a A Capella festival in Austria.
They did this song in Kerney Missouri in a gazebo completely off mic when their concert got rained out and they didn’t want their fans to leave without something. It was amazing
    Names in order of singers
    Tim Foust : Bass ( 5 + octave range )
Rob Lundquist: Lead Tenor ( Beard and Glasses)
Adam Rupp : Beatboxer ( this was a rare time he sings )
Austin Brown ( High Tenor) ( long wavy hair )
Adam Chance aka Chance Baritone/ Bass ( didn’t sing was standing next to Tim )
Austin has left the group a lot earlier than expected and Adam Bastien Aka Bastien has taken his place.
Bastien used to sub for one of the tenors when Home Free first started and also was a member of Chris Rupp's group 7th Ave
Bastien did his first concert with Home Free at the Country Rumble Fest in Lima,Ohio June 21 and The Grand Ol Opry June 22
There are 3 Adam’s in the group so they opted to be called by last names less confusion.

I hope I can articulate what i wish to convey.
i spent a few years doing kundalini yoga on a daily basis with a kundalini yoga master. i was beginning my meditation practice and he told me to think of the animated yoga postures and breathing exercises as a warm up to my sitting practice, and chanting, whether alone or with a group.
the premise was to create the breath and posture needed to allow me to completely relax, sit still for an extended period of time, and intone the words so they would resonate in my chakras. similar to what singing hymns in church does. the goal was to benefit as much as possible from the healing experience. when sitting like this and chanting in a group, or singing with a congregation, the resonance is greater, and even more beneficial.
he pointed out that this kind of practice is universal. that it takes many forms and has been a part of all civilizations whether its Tibetan yogis or Gregorian monks chanting, your local church choir, or a group like Home Free singing in the mountains. It achieves the same goals, and it is something that ties us all together regardless of what else we may believe or have faith in.
this rendition resonates from the first breath, and just carries us away.
    ☮❤🙏

Dude, I can't believe this is only the second song of theirs that you have done. This was an outstanding rendition by them in every way. I think what you are referring to is the peace that comes from worship, nothing in the secular realm can compare to communing with the Holy Spirit, and it a shame that so many churches have moved away from the old hymns and the deep lyrics they convey. Their cover of Crosby, Stills, Nash's "Helplessly Hoping", is vocal perfection.
