You're channel is cool, I like the fact that you don't edit out your video errors lol so cool. I'm supposed to be working as a Passenger Assistance Agent soon so I will see how that goes. Maybe you know a little something about that.
Thank you for the kind words! I don’t have time for edits. 😂💀 congratulations on your job. I’m not exactly sure what a passenger assistant agent is. I’d like to learn more about it.
@Kelly if you are referring to PAA well I've been a Passenger Assistant Agent for 4 months now and I will say the job is rewarding. The pay is cool but you also get a lot of tips and of course flight benefits. You also get to bid every quarter for a better shift and you can pick up as many shifts as you'd like for extra income oppose to working 2 or 3 jobs. You can literally make $6,000 in a month plus around $2,000 tips. Basically we assistant passengers needing wheelchairs and we transport them from one location to the other throughout the airport. Most of which are either injured, up in age or disabled. We also assist the blind and deaf by walking with them to their gate or baggage claim. I am part-time but I pick up shifts a lot. My first month a worked 350 hours, not recommended but I needed the funds.
Airplane cleaners, airplane, cleaners, get that discount, and what type of hours discounts to I’m thinking about doing it working for the airline. You’re hired people with disabilities.
I have seen people with disabilities get hired. However, it’s going to depend on the job because they will have to fulfill their job requirements. I’m not exactly sure about airport cleaners. But I know if they work for the airline and not a contract company that they do get flight benefits. Good luck!
Your videos are so informative. I have a interview coming up with a contractor for a customer service position. Do you have any informative on contractors? I would be new to the industry
Congrats on your interview! I worked for a contract company. Although the pay is not as good, and the benefits may not be the same, as long as you love it, and you get flight benefits, it’s worth it. It also gives you an opportunity to get experience in the industry. Let me know how it goes!
@TheBohemianTraveler how was your interview with the contractor? Was it a fairly easy interview? Did you get hired on the spot? Was training in another state. I'm sorry for so many questions lol
My daughter is a CSA for a major airline and they allow the customer service agents to fly jumpseat. She has to abide by the strict rules, but is allowed to sit there if one is available.
I start as Customer Assistance Representative this Monday for American Airlines this my first time in the travel industry so I'm nervous and excited at the same time. The pay isn't that great but I always wanted to travel and I'm a single parent and I promised my child we would travel before taking this job and the benefits out way the pay and benefits start from day one and there's plenty of opportunities for advancement.
hi girl, can you talk a little about >Mando>. Many of of our customers do not understand how much we are here for them. Continue with the good job your doing.
Not really. I think the difference is the fact that Ramp agents get paid for every hour that they work and flight attendants have many hours that they are not paid because their pay is when the door closes and opens on the plane.
Can you tell us about time line or how soon u get promoted in ramp service area and how soon u can be team lead or supervisor, thank u alot, hope u keep up on posting videos
I passed the virtual interview with United Airlines. Now I have a virtual meet & greet/interview with a local supervisor. I am nervous about the physical test if there is one (if it is that machine thingy, which I’m thinking it will be since neither of my interviews were inviting me to go there in person). I haven’t heard much about it and I can’t find enough information about it other than people who said it was really hard and they failed. I feel fit enough to do the job but I don’t know how to better prepare.
I never did the physical agility test. But, what I’ve heard is that the machine can detect if you’ve had prior injuries. So if it’s pushing against you and you’re rotating your arm or something like that and all of a sudden you get weak, then you fail. But please don’t quote me. But I heard something like that. Good luck. And let me know how it goes.
@@TheBohemianTraveler I got hired! I’m so excited. I had to do the isokinetic machine and I was really sore afterwards. The machine was uncomfortable, the arm motions felt unnatural and maybe the machine wasn’t fitted to me properly, but I just did everything I could. I was so sore/tender in my trapezius muscles in the following days that I was really scared that I had injured myself. Anyhow I start on Tuesday. 🎉
@@TheBohemianTraveler I received a job offer and didn’t pass 2 things on the agility test which they said I wasn’t the only one so they are lowering it by 10 pounds. I’m hoping I pass this time because I really want this job. I also have a video interview for the same regional airline so I’m trying to prepare for that. Thank you so much for your videos!
Hello! After I get started with one airline doing a certain job, is there a process to switch and work for a different airline later on? If so, is there a minimum time you have to spend with the first airline before switching?
You can leave your airline at any time when you get another airline. There’s no minimum time. But, if you want to switch roles within the same airline, generally it’s between six months in a year that they allow you to do so.
number one thing a tamper going to tell you is “BAGS DONT TALK BACK!!!!!!” 😂😂😂

Thank you again for being so informative re: Airline benefits. I really enjoy your topics.
Thank you so much!

You're welcome
Pay?
So many factors…..🧐
And FA's can fly jump seat on a full flight when csa's snd ground crew can't. I respect why though. Great video
You are right. Good one!! Thank you!
however there are strict rules for flying jump seat that are not so glamorous on a long flight

Do you get buddy passes when you fly for free
Yes, we get buddy passes. But buddy passes cost money.
Ok OK thank you so much I am becoming a ramp agent and your videos have taught me so much. Thank you.

Every situation is different. It’s going to depend on your station, and your airline. Generally, you can start applying after you pass probation.

Was there a physical agility test for ramp agent ?
For many airlines yes. I did not have to do it because I transferred internally from a customer service agent. So I never did.
