I’m a flight attendant now and being a gate agent honestly sounds like a great transition. Being able to go home everyday is so much better and no turbulence 😅
I love working for the airline. It’s good to keep in mind that no matter where you’re at on the team, without that position you’re doing (whether you’re flight attendant or ramp agent) it all has to come together to keep the operation going.
I’ve been watching your videos since I got my phone interview schedule date. All I can say is thank you. You’ve been very thorough with your experiences and watching your videos has helped me get to where I’m at today. I’m 3 weeks in and just got back from Dallas today. I appreciate you. Thank you thank you~
Hey honey! I have an interview with southwest as a ramp agent tomorrow. It's been my dream to work for an airline! Thank you for the video. I am so nervous and excited.
ThatGirlSMOKEY SLUG Good luck!!!! I pray you'll get it! Smile lots, show enthusiasm and be a team player. Southwest likes those type of individuals. Dress in business attire. Bring a copy of your resume. 🤞🏾🙏🏾
The Bohemian Traveler Thank you! I had a phone interview a week ago and they said they wanted to proceed with the hiring process and Tuesday is my face to face! I'm kind of worried about my background check because I used to get paid to stream online for twitch and I didn't add that in my employment and I kind of messed up on some dates with a previous employer. I'm praying it doesn't effect my chances in getting the job but if it does then I live and learn and I'll apply again. Gonna give it to God and hope everything goes out great! Thanks for the kind words and prayers! I appreciate it! I hope you're having a great day and your videos make me excited to hopefully be in the same position!
ThatGirlSMOKEY SLUG I'll pray that you get it!. I think you should be OK with messing up the dates on your initial application. Many times after they hire you you have a chance to put in your entire work history again. That is the time that you make sure that you do not forget any dates. That's when they will run the background check. I think you should be OK. I'll pray for you! Remember to smile a lot, be the brand, and be very very positive. Let them know that you want to work there until you retire. They want longevity. Good luck and please let me know what happens.
I have a job interview to become a ramp agent tomorow and I'm watching videos to get some insight and advice. Reading trough your comments helped me thank you!
I just came back and I got the job :D starting next month for a german company. Really excited to do this because I don't know anyone who did this jo. It will be a very new experience
It's actually just a part time job for me cause I'm a student working there for a temporary employment agency so I guess I won't get any flight benefits. I'll be there for a couple months and when everything goes well they can hire me
Update - Finished training last week - Tomorrow I begin working on my own, Sunday and Monday off , 12-8:30 is my shift - will be doing ticket counter until I am fully trained in Gates - Thanks for all your videos - xoxoox
Thank you so much for watching! And congratulations on your position- and you already get partial weekends? That is fantastic. Pace yourself and make sure you use your benefits.🙌🏾🙏🏾
I thought you said "have a baby WITH my oldest son" and I was like uhhh WHAT? anyway! great that your kids have an air lines mum because truly aviation gets in your blood and it doesn't get out! I'm trying to be a ramper and continue my flight training and your videos are so helpful!!
happy tulips Yay!!! Congratulations!! I used to want to do that! When I was a flight attendant and I would see the caterers, I thought that would be fun to do. Flight benefits are always the best perk!
The Bohemian Traveler thank you. Next week is my training. They gonna send me in texas. Then if i got a enough experience. Maybe im gonna change my department and i would love to try the ramp like you. I know kitchen area is nice BUT its not fun with gadgets lol.
what is the title of the job that you do the catering for the planes? I thought outside companies did the catering so you wouldn't get flight benefits. I wonder what airlines offer kitchen area jobs. I want to work for the airlines to get free flight benefits but I don't know if they will hire a 59 year old female as a ramp agent...
@@patwullen3098 its united chelsea foods. So easy job. Although your part time you still got a free flights or discounted flights. Yes you can still apply and no age limit. I had a co workers and mostly aged 50s to 60s they love their job.
I wanted to be a flight attendant but I no longer desire that lifestyle. I think it used to be a glamorous job but times have changed. I’m in ground ops now. I get the flight benefits and I get to go home everyday. A Flight Attendant told me once that she had a 14hr duty day but only got paid for 5hrs. Nope!! I’m not ok with that. I just got home. Worked 8hrs and got paid for 8hrs.
Oh my goodness… I can relate to your journey on so many levels (except I don’t have kids): life-long love of air travel and aviation, worked in education, became an FA, loved it but years of junior schedules and prospect of commuting… ya’ know, hiatus from the industry (but, as you say, you never get it out of your system)… now returning to airline life part-time so it’ll fit w/ married life (onboarding now for CSA here in CA). I’m a bit nervous about the different set of challenges surrounding CSA, but believing I’ll grow into the position. Thx for the videos.
Thank you so much, Nidia… Same one you’re with, actually, and at a smaller station here in CA as well. In some ways it’ll feel like coming home as it’s the same airport I so often flew in and out of as an FA, but I know the work and dynamic with our passengers will be a whole new world for me. Praying I’ve not completely lost my game. ;) Thank you again, Nidia. Blessings and safe travels to you!
Hey! So cool to find this. I am interviewing for Fleet Service... after 6 years in AA Reservations, I had to resign too... yes, you cannot NOT have travel benefits. Hopeful fleet service works out. :)
Was So Cal not a base for United that you could bid for? Where in So Cal? I'd love to live in San Diego if I could afford it. Did you spend the whole time out of Chicago? I thought 'more junior base' (than you) would mean their schedules were worse for their kids than you, not better. You would be more senior if they were more junior. Why didn't you start out with your local airport to avoid the commuting? They weren't hiring?
Thug Life! Pilots around, attendants around, customer agents around, flying giant machines around and most importantly airport around!!! I shall be very much pleased to know career path and top-most positions one could get on the airside. Hope you guide this child who is in deep love with airports since childhood 😃
TANMAY PALKAR Hello! It depends on what you like. Do you want to make money while traveling? Do you have that flexibility? Then be a pilot or a flight attendant. With Flight attendanting, they teach you on the job, however as you know, pilot training is very extensive. If you want to just be around airplanes and live in a stable environment, ramp or customer service agent would be a good avenue to go. Good luck! Once it's in your blood, you'll never want to leave. Thank you so much for watching!
I wanted to be a gate agent not a flight attendant because I wanted to stay in my city. I went to the interview and didn't get hired, then the same airline hired me for flight attendant lol it wasn't meant to be
RockCandyBoudoir I think you did. At my current airline I started out customer service and then transferred to ramp. This means I'm cross utilized and can do both. I love the vibe behind the scenes with my fellow rampers. I'm so excited for you!! Are you getting free flights with your new company?
Hi! I am so glad I saw this. Because I'm at a point where I want to start a family and being an FA just wasn't going to work for me. Nothing wrong with it. But anyways, I'm glad I saw this at this time. Thank you for making this video!
LaKendria Harvey wow! We are in the same boat. This job definitely works for when you have kids, because you won’t have to be away from them. Once the industry gets in your system it’s hard to stay away long. Thanks so much for watching and I’m excited for you in your new journey!
HEYYYYYY❣️❣️❣️❣️ I’m a Respiratory Therapist too!!! 😃 Funny thing is, I’ve always wanted to be a flight attendant! Since I was 6 years old! Now I’m going to be 52 this September. I doubt that they would consider hiring me at this age. I think for me, it would kill my pocket book. I’ve been an RT sine 1995. I make about $80k/year and only have to work twelve nights a month.
I’m a retired RN,but I worked with lots of ventilators. You may have worked with them yourself or remember them from Respiratory Therapy School. IMV Bird,IMV Emerson ( aka “The Silver Streak”or “ Silver Surfer “) ,the Emerson Post-Op( aka…” The Brown Bomber “ ), the 7200, the Monaghan, etc. I worked in the hell holes of a county hospital level 1 Trauma Center. They were :the Emergency Room,Medical ICU, Neurosurgical ICU,Trauma ICU ,and the Burn Unit.
@@christopherhennessey8991 I worked with the vents: MA-1; 7200; the 840; and servo. The newest to our hospital is a hunk of junk called the BellaVista. My favorite was the 840. Boy do I miss the 840!
@@christopherhennessey8991 Heya! I just graduated two weeks ago. I am 65-years. However, since I had previously had my own company, overseas, for the past 30+ years I may opt away from being an FA for the reasons TBT mentions. The unpredictability of schedule, lower pay (considering airlines don't do "ground pay"), and having to bid often are a bit tough for a seasoned vet like me to get used to.
You are never too old! You could be a RT and a FA but I’d say sign up with as many apps that allow you to pick up RT shifts because the money is not it beginning as a FA and you would be so available on a flight in the event in an emergency. I miss being a flight attendant but the financial struggle was real. I am a CNA and a bartender but I wasn’t organized and resigned to become more financially organized. I’m now waiting to start with my next airline. It’s possible and never let your age limit you. There were 50+ year olds in my class who graduated with me. Have confidence in yourself. There were 50 year olds who projected their insecurities on other women in my class because of age. I vowed to not ever be like those ladies. It goes back to true confidence. You can do it girl.
You mentioned 'crash pad' in another video too. What is that? Is it easy for FA's to swap days with each other so that you can string more days off by working for each other? I wouldn't want to travel long distances like Paris and just have to turn around the come back. There's too much to see, and I would be a tourist from 6am to 10 pm. People were amazed how much I could cram in the tourist sites, and they'd tell me I should be a travel agent.
A crash pad is a temporary housing solution for overnight accommodation that more closely resembles a traditional home and is typically cheaper than a hotel.
I'm currently looking for a job in either airlines or railroads. This is good information to know. I'm very much fascinated by large vehicles and transportation operations and am considering getting a foot in the door at an airline. Currently I have a bachelor's in Urban Planning and Public Policy, so hoping to work my way up within a company from an entry level position.
Do you prefer being a ramp agent or customer service/gate agent? I applied for both with the same company but they want me as a gate agent because of prior customer service experience but I think I don’t want to work with passengers. Bags don’t talk back!
Karita Hall Lol! I personally like ramp better. In my current position, I was hired as CS and actually transferred to ramp. If I were you I’d take the position offered to you and then transfer to ramp when you get off probation. Unless, they let you do ramp now. Good luck and let me know what happens!
You are my mentor. I love that you take the time to guide us. I completed the 7-weeks and received my wings but, due to a family crisis the FA life (or lack thereof) due to being a reserve and having to base in SF (expensive) I left. I am thinking of going back to see if they'll take me as a Ramp Agent. For the reasons you highlighted (a steady job with low stress). I would like to ask: 1) Did you get to keep the Tumi luggage and uniforms? 2) Is there still a way to upward move into other positions after being demoted to a Ramp Agent? 3) Based on FA only getting paid after doors shut and this and that, is the salary for each pretty much the same (although on paper Ramp Agents get paid less)? 4) Are Ramp Agents under the same union umbrella as FA?
Thank you so much for the compliment. I would not see it as a demotion. It’s just a different job title. Many ramp agents would never want to be flight attendants, and many flight attendants would not want to be rampers. Everyone has their preference. Rampers get paid the entire time they are working and pay increases to the 30s and possibly 40s for mainline ramp agents. I have definitely seen Ramp agents move up to corporate and management positions. I’m sorry about your family crisis. I hope everything’s OK. I was able to keep all of my luggage and my uniforms. But, I had to finish paying the balance. I enjoy Ramp and customer service lifestyle better than when I was a flight attendant. But that’s just my opinion. The lifestyle works better for me. The Union will be different. Flight attendants have their own union called AFA. Other than that, I wish you the best, and pray that you find a position that you absolutely love and works with your lifestyle.
Thanks for your videos. I feel like tend to do things out of order as well; i.e. going from the high paying job to something less glamorous. I don't see anything recent from you, and I would love to see an update.
Shawna Barnett Thank you so much. I upload about three times a month. And my most recent one was about a week ago. Mostly it’s just following me around the ramp and small little life updates. Thank you so much for watching!
3 years as a ramp agent here with SW and have about 7 years of experience doing other aviation related things. Just got an offer to go inflight but strongly reconsidering taking the role due to what you mentioned here. I’d love to be on the go but eventually may want to start a family / be there consistently for them. Any advice? 👀
@@dwill6935 congratulations on your offer!!! It’s totally up to you. I do have a friend who is a mom and a FA for SW and she has work-life balance. Even as a new hire, she bid to only work Friday through Sunday so that she was there for her family during the school week. Airlines like UA may not be as flexible in the beginning. Ask yourself, will you regret not going for it? Or, are you fully content where you are? Plz let me know what you decide!!!
Interviewed on Thurs and HIRED, UAL Ramp, PT! Retired, "early", from SWA this past June. I just wanted to expand my flight benefits, work for a larger legacy airline and get some health insurance again, back!
SingMotown Karaoke Revue & Old School Dance Party Oh my goodness!!! Do you you how that happy that makes me?! You are amazing. You said your were going to do it and you did!! Boom! Congrats on this new journey and happy traveling!!
Thanks. I was enjoying my time OFF the Ramp, but I think the UAL experience is worth going back on. I also applied for another position at the HQ, so we'll see how that goes, while my paperwork is being processed. I'm still here now and the temps went down to 19! So I've go to say "see you later" to FL weather for a spell. But Chicago is home, so it's not going to be a shock and we'll try to move back to FL by year's end and I'll just commute to Chicago.
SingMotown Karaoke Revue & Old School Dance Party Wow. 19 degrees?! Me being a California girl can't imagine working with that weather. It's great you're from there and will adapt quickly. My dad is from Illinois as well. Sounds like you have great plans. I like your sense of adventure.
Thanks for sharing your journey. (I know it's an old video, lol) I'm thinking of becoming a ramp agent but a little hesitant, and haven't seen a woman doing it yet, so I was curious.
I loove watching your videos! I love how thorough you are.i lately has had a sudden interest in the aviation life. Can you please tell me what exactly does a RAMP CLEANER does? I been hearing alot about ramp agent but wanted to know what's the difference between the two? Also is the ramp cleaner an inside or outside in the elements? I also have a passion for cleaning but a little nervous about upcoming interview for ramp cleaner also how long is the probabionary period? Thank you in advance for responding
Hello! Thank you so much for watching my videos. I hope you get it! I know a ramp agent generally loads bags are and a cleaner focuses on cleaning inside the aircraft. And sometimes, with contract companies Ramp agents both do bags and they clean. But generally, they are hired to do one or the other. Every airline has a different probationary period generally is between three and six months. Good luck with everything. Let me know how it goes.
Princess Diaries and healing what a great idea! Yes I will do that. I wish I would’ve read your comment last week when I went on vacation. OK, the next time I go I will do that.
Hi, new subscriber here! I'm so glad I found your videos I absolutely love your kind energy and transparency. Like you, I've had the travel bug since I was a kid and I'm now looking to get into the industry. I actually have a F2F interview for a flight attendant position but I'm concerned about the work-life balance of having a family! Did you lose any seniority when you made the transition from FA to Ramp Agent? Thanks for your videos :)
Thank you so much for the nice words. Congrats on your interview! I have a friend that started Southwest about eight months ago and she feels as though she has really good work life balance with that company. She is just on-call three days a week and she has four days off. She works just the weekends. I have another friend that works for United and it seems more of a challenge for her she says. So it’s just gonna depend on where you’re based and your company. I did lose seniority. I had to start from the bottom, but it all worked out. Let me know how it goes!
Aiden Blanckenberg Go to the airlines websites and then click on careers. It should prompt you from there. I’ve gotten my jobs on indeed.com. Good luck!
I just got hired to work at piedmont/American Airlines as a ramp agent/ customer service gate agent. I really don’t care what the position is I’m just super excited to be in! But the starting pay is horrible ...but now that I’m in the industry.. is it easier to move up to flight attendant or other higher positions and get hired from within?
First of all, congratulations! It’s a steppingstone. I think that it does help get your foot in the door little bit more when you do have experience in the airline industry. I have known people to start customer service or ramp agents and apply to be flight attendants and get it. Generally they still make you interview and start from the bottom, but I feel as though it does give you a leg up on the competition. Good luck!
Hi bohemian, I also love everything that relates to the airline industry. I got a job to be a ticket agent for an airline at Newark Airport. When I went to training I already had a cold which got worse during the first week of training and could not continue. The sad part is that I passed all the exams and did so well. I applied again in different airlines but unfortunately I could never get hired again. Then, the recession came and that was the end of my dream. So, you’re lucky to have done so much in the same line of work! Congratulations.
Forese83 Thank you. Keep trying OK? You will eventually get something. It took me 7 years to get back in the industry this time. My station is so small that they are hardly ever had any openings. If you're in Newark you have many opportunities. Double check your resume and make sure it lines up with what the airline wants. Put key words in your resume/cover letter like"flexible", "team player" etc. Good luck and keep applying if you still love the industry. ❤️Thanks so much for watching!!
🙏🏾Hi madame thanks for all ur indepth videos... are u able to tell me what is the hourly pay for a ramp agent working at hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta airport?
'Free travel' is making airlines like American sound bad, for taking 'service charges' out of people's paychecks. As much as you traveled with family, you wouldn't have much of a check left. That's fortunate to have gotten the same days off as your co-workers to go to Venice.
I watched all your videos. Thanks so much. I go in for an interview for a ramper tomorrow and they want a min of 2 days and a max of 4 days. I’m like you and just want the minimum hours for flight benefits but I’m afraid if I say 2 I won’t get the job. What should I do?
Jeremy Nascimento tell them that you will work what the station needs. Tell them you would prefer the minimum. But if the station need you more, you are willing to do it. You guys have actual schedules? Or will you be bidding for your schedule?
Thank you so much for your response. I just got hired today in the bag room for two days a week both 10 hour shifts. What can you tell me about the bag room?
Jeremy Nascimento what a great shift!!! Congratulations! I would say to pace yourself so that you can always stay on top of it. Also, keep the radio near you so you can hear any comments or questions from the ramp.
Congrats! They should have given you an HR contact number. You may not need to call though. I bet they are just waiting until everyone in you training class is clear so you can all start at the same time. The time has varied for me from a few days to over 4 months.
Hi I got a ramp agent/cs agent job! And I’m heading to ramp training in a couple days! I’m so so nervous about the tests they give you during ramp training, I guess they let you go (fire you) if you don’t get a 85% or higher. Any tips????
Klizzlll Pay attention to the lecture and study at night in the hotel. You can do it!! Take it seriously like it’s a college class. Let me know how it goes!
The Bohemian Traveler What about the City Codes?? I heard it’s the first test we are doing as soon as we go in. Do you know if it’s multiple choice? Because there’s no way I’ll remember if it’s write ins 😭
Hello. Do you get the same benefits on flights when you do any of these positions(customer service, ticketing, ramp or flight attendant) tha k you for the video!!!
I know this is a job that is supposed to pay really well but for some reason there is an agency in a little country called Guyana that pays their ramp staff 15 US dollars per flight, and that company is Roraima Airways, some people can be very greedy with money
Just go for it. Nursing is customer service. The patients and their families are your customers and you have to be able to talk to them and calm them down and help them through hard times. You can use that as your customer service experience. Good luck. I hope you get it.
Wow its amazing how you were able to have other careers too! Teacher and the medical field? Did you work at an airline while going to school for respiratory?? I want to gain a skill in the medical field but so scared I'll leave United airlines and not be able to come back 🥺
I would definitely not leave United. I was a teacher first and was a flight attendant and then worked for an airline and got laid off. Then Went to Respiratory school and came back after I graduated. It’s a perfect mix, to be able to make the money in the healthcare field, and have that flexibility, and have the love for aviation as well. I wonder if there’s a way you can do a program where you can stay with United while going through schooling. Or maybe you can give away some shifts. Good luck! Let me know what you end up doing.
I have a few questions. Since I may want to become a tamper when In in college, does the schedule usually work with your time your not in class? And I've always wanted to become a ramper. Does it require strength and what are some questions you might be asked? Thank you for your service in the airline industry.
RightfulFluff2's PDX aviation Great questions. The airlines don't work with you. You bid your schedule according to your seniority. They want to be the priority. However, you can always work with your co-workers and swap schedules. I think it would be challenging to do both, but with some creativity, it is possible. Another challenge is that even though you may have a set schedule, working for an airline is so unpredictable. You may have to stay late due to delays in weather, mechanical and crew. If you have a class later in the day, you may not be released until your flight is in the air. However, as with anything in life, you can always make it work. Good luck!!!
RightfulFluff2's PDX aviation Being a ramper does require some strength but if you know how to lift the bags to protect yourself and your body, you should be fine. Also, wearing a back support band is a good idea. Always know your limits and ask for help lifting really heavy bags. Stretching before your shift helps as well. Hope this helps!!
i recently got Hired as a ramp Agent for Delta at Pittsburgh International Airport. I love flying but also just being at their airport in general. I will sometimes just go to the curbside Terminal and just chill there and watch planes from the window despite it being far away and i like to look to see which airlines operate at the check ins, for the most part at PIT its most major US carriers but Allegiant Spirit are gonna start operating there soon and i think Frontier as well. Condor Air is due to start this summer. And cause i go to Robert Morris university which is not far away I will gather my class work and take a chair and drinks out to an area where i can view the runway and just do my work there while enjoying the planes.
Norbert Janas That makes me so happy. You have a true love for the industry. I used to be just like you when I was younger. I would always just chill and watch the planes go by. Life is a little busier now for me, so I don't have as much time to do that. There's something magical about this industry. Congratulations on being hired with Delta!!! That is by far my favorite airline to work for. I worked for them in the past and they treat their employees so well. Blessings!
to be honest i have never flown Delta. i have only ever Flown Southwest (my personal favorite) and Hawaiian. I just went with delta cause they were hiring.
Norbert Janas That's awesome. Delta is the holy grail to many employees. Not only do they treat their employees well, but their flying benefits are great. They give you company stock and monthly bonuses.
Slam clickers? haha , like slam the door and lock it with a click? I'd LOVE to get a meal per diem. I interviewed for FA years ago and made the mistake of saying that I would travel non-rev to a particular city a lot (Nashville, where songwriters hang out) and that was my death nell. I was taken OUT of the semi-circle ALONE and told 'bye.' A pilot friend later said, 'wrong answer.' Yet EVERYONE, once hired, say they're in it for the flight benefits, without hesitation. But yet you aren't allowed to give that as a reason in the interview. I had no idea what a huge mistake I had made. I could have been doing my #1 fav job all these years, with enough seniority now to fly the Hawaii route, where you get all your hours in at once and lay on the beach. 40-50 years? That means even if they started at 18, they're still working way past retirement age where they could retire with full benefits. I guess they wouldn't know what to do with themselves if they retired.
Southsideman Lol! I totally forgot about the ending. No one ever mentioned it. That was before I knew how to edit and there was no way I was going to re-tape. Thanks for your comment. Now I can’t stop laughing! 😂🤣
Yes! And they will ask you about how you handled conflict or a difficult situation at work. With the role play, don't offend the customer, stay within company guidelines and if you can't handle it, always tell them that you will contact your lead to help with the situation.
I was a ramp agent when I was in my early 20's while attending college. It was fun driving around the ramp in a Tug. I enjoyed the physical aspect of the job as well as working outside.
Ive been on the ramp for a year now i was thinking about becoming a flight attendant because people say they make alot more money do u think thats true for united airline
I think it depends. At the moment, many flight attendants are not paid for many of the hours they work. There’s a lot of sitting and waiting between flights. Flight attendants get paid when the airplane door closes and stop getting paid when it opens. So yes, you make a higher rate, but, Those are only flight hours.
esplikia7 Great question! It totally depends on the airline. I had some French speakers in my class who were on reserve just like the rest of us. They did both domestic and international flights. This was done randomly through crew scheduling. When they acquired enough seniority they could bid for those French speaking flights. However if someone was a Japanese speaker, they would go directly into international flights to Japan. It totally depends on the need. Me being a Spanish speaker was so common that I was on reserve just like the rest of my class. Also, the international flights only need about half the crew to be language qualified. The rest of the crew could be English speakers.
T Perez You don't need any experience. They train you on the job. Usually they would like to see that either you have airline experience or some type of experience like FedEx or something like that. However, many times they hire people with zero experience. You just need to go in there with a positive attitude and be very cheerful and fit the image of that particular airline. They want to see a team player and someone who is dependable. If they ask you in the interview, how long do you expect to work there, always say that you expect to to work there until you retire. I hope this helps!
RATED congratulations!!! Ok since you got an interview, you have the qualifications that they want. They can train you to do ramp. Southwest will be looking at your personality. Be super bubbly! Smile a lot. Act like you're a team player. You need to fit the southwest mold. The number one question will be, how long do you expect to work at southwest? Your answer must be."until I retire!" They want to see longevity and know that you want it. I just uploaded a video that explains a little about being a ramp agent. Check it out. It also has behind the scenes of the ramp. Also, read about the job and watch other RUclips videos. Also, read about southwest so that you know about the company. Good luck!!! Tell me how it goes!!! Remember to dress in business attire! No jeans!
hipretty hipretty Hello. Generally you hear about the cattle call from searching on the individual airline websites. Many times if you put your application in, you will get a call or an email and they will say that there is an all day interview and which documents to bring in. There will be like 3-4 stages of the interview. Group interview, testing, then they'll weed out. You'll look for your name to see if you made it to the next level. Then individual individual interviews. What job are you looking to apply for?
Thank you so much for replying back...So sorry for the delay responding. My notifications to comments were tuned off (?) not sure how that happened, but I was never alerted to this. OK so the f2f (IF you get that far) would be part of the process in a cattle call, If you get to that level? Sometimes I hear FA's talking about a video interview. I still haven't learned if that is an "about me" video they make and submit to be viewed with an application...or if it is actually a Skype-type interview where administration is actually on the other end interviewing them. You are so right about Airport /Airline jobs. As a kid I grew up near the airport... one of my first jobs was working @ JFK! I went to school, got married, had a family, watched the sky ended up being a stay at home mom and homeschooling my kids. Dreaming all these years of getting back to the terminal, an airline and being in flight. I won't date myself 😉 but I just hope it's not too late! Blessings!
hipretty It's never too late! In my flight attendant class, the bulk of the group were in two age categories, the 20s, and 50s and 60-year-olds. The reason was, most people in their 30s and 40s are still raising their children so it's a little bit harder for them to leave their responsibilities. But believe it or not, 50% of my class had retired from their careers and had always wanted to become flight attendants. Also, in customer service, they hired everyone from their 20s up until their 60s. Thankfully in America, there's not too much of an age bias in the airline industry. I did not do a video interview. However, my friend did a video interview for my airline a few months back. It was just her answering the questions that they had given her, recording it, and sending it in. There may be some airlines that do a Skype-type interview, but I don't know. Since this industry has to do with airplanes, they don't mind flying you in and meeting with you face to face. They just booked you in a positive space seat and send for you to meet with them. I hope this helps! Thank you so much for watching.
Thank you Nadyah (sp? sorry if thats wrong) so much for responding. That really gives me hope! I hope you are happy as a ramp agent, they do so much and deal with people sometimes in the worst way. I completely understand why you gave it up, and I do hope you still have great benefits! ☺️
Dayana Garcia Yes. Good idea. I will. Check out my video of how I got a job as a ramp agent, and flight attendant and that should give you insight as well.
I'm 50 years old. My dream and passion are work for an airline or airport. Any advice for me. (I speak Spanish, and I have worked for 29 years in NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation. )
Nelson Diaz I say go for it. Would you like to fly for a living? Being a flight attendant would take you to many places. And you would travel for a living. However, there's something to be said about having a home base and working for an airline and traveling on your free time. Do you have the flexibility to be a flight attendant? in my flight attendant class, half of us were in our 20s and half of the other group was in their 50s and 60s. Age is not a factor in the airline industry. The airline hires all different ages so you should be fine. Also, the fact that you speak Spanish will really help you a lot. I would go to indeed.com and put in your ZIP Code and search for airline jobs. Good luck and please update me on what happens!
Thank you for your positive feedback. I'm a single man, no kids, no partner, or pets, so yes I believe I am flexible. I've alway enjoy adventure and don't mind living out of a luggage sometimes.
Nelson Diaz You're in the perfect position. Go for it! I'm so excited for you! Life will definitely be an adventure. Remember to stay flexible and go with the flow. Please let me know!
Hi, I understand your struggle of wanted to be in the air as a FA and having a 9-5 normal life. This will never happen as a FA - as a FA, I had to adjust and the seniority is part of being an airline employee. I agree, it gets on your blood. I am a subscriber and will continue watching your channel to learn more about vloging airline content. I see you put lots of contents since this video - and boy this was a hard one, w no editing. you have come a long way with your channel. Congratulations! Honest Question? Why do you think you are not growing your channel to more subscribers?
oisergio Thank you so much! I appreciate the compliment. I’m not sure about the growth. Probably because being a ramp agent is not at all glamorous like being a flight attendant. It is a small niche of people who want to do ramp I assume. I’m ok with the slow growth. I do it because I love creating. Thanks for subscribing and the support!
I know this video is old but I’ve been a FA for almost 8 years and now I’m transitioning into being a ramp in a couple weeks due to me having a 2 year old son. Can’t do the commute life as it’s extremely hard on my wife, so I’m excited to have the luxury of being able to come home every night!
Congrats on the continuation of your journey! I one hundred percent agree with you. Being able to come home every single night is such a blessing. There’s a sense of peace you will get.
Yes, it can be. But I was part time so it wasn’t too bad for me. I would work my days so that I was only working about 6 to 8 hours a week. And I would also give up shifts. I enjoyed though, and learned how to lift bags without hurting myself.
Every day is different. It could be super smooth and easy, or it could also be crazy and stressful. That’s the great thing about the industry. I enjoy working at the airport because I enjoy going home every day. However, being a flight attendant was great because you got to stay at hotels for free.
Eleven whole minutes to basically get to the point that flight attendant life takes you away from your family compared to ramp life. You need your own radio station. Anyway, the information about delays and the affects on customer service positions compared to ramp agents" has me feeling a little better.
Jillian Mac Knight yes, generally airlines have agreements with other airlines and you can fly at a reduced rate. We call them ID 90s and ID 95's. That means that you get 90% off the rate or 95% off. It will all depend upon who your airline partners with. Generally, there are many partners that you can fly on. It's easier to fly on your own airline though. This is because you have access to all the airline loads and the standby list. Thanks for watching!!
I work at OHare. I recommend Southwest or Delta if you want to work as ramp agent. But make sure you can life 55 lbs comfortably, they do a physical and during the physical they measure your heart rate. They don't want people out of shape. Have fun and be careful.
I love your video so educating so much to learn. my dream job is to be working in the airline industry it is A DREAM. I am 40 years old now and still my dream to work in the airline . I am going to enroll for an associate in Hospitality management this year I wanna have a degree and be an airline ticketing agent. my love to be around in the airport I will do anything to have a job in any airline. just like what you said once is in your blood the want and eager to be working in the airline industry is my goal in life. I am a Filipino but American citizen by naturalization. please, any advice is really appreciated thank you. and more power to your channel love it!
ellenmagicallife Thank you so much and congratulations! You actually don’t have to go to school for it. Only go if you want to. My advice is keep applying until you get something. 🙏🏾❤️Make sure your resume is on point! Also, if you live near an international airport, let them know you are bilingual.
@@TheBohemianTraveler Thank you so much for your warm reply is so much to me. Yes, I live close to RDU international airport and I will be starting applying now and still continuing school. I am currently enrolled now for certification as a certified customs specialist. please upload more videos.
I just subscribed. I'm obsessed with planes, airports, flying, travel... It's in my blood, and I haven't worked for an airline yet, but I really want to. I don't even care what they hire me to do. Is that crazy? 😂
Is there an age requirement to work for the airline , flight attendants, customer service, or ramps I am currently 41 years old and look to go back to work once I am 42 years old in January?
Yes I understand i have a group interview on the nov 27 at 10am in Colorado Springs for ramp agent and the 11/28/2018 5 pm for FA both for skywest Any tips on either thank u
MYB Misa Congratulations on your interview! Look extremely well polished. Smile a lot. Be enthusiastic. Let them know you’re flexible and know how to work under pressure. They will ask you a scenario of when you had to handle conflict at work before and what you did to resolve it. Be their brand. Know about the company. Let them know you’re willing to work any schedule including weekends and holidays. Also, tell them you want to work their until your retire. Let me know what happens!!🙏🏾
The Bohemian Traveler i will thank you so much i really appreciate it I have the travel bug but its weird its not seeing other places its been ready to go lol
Tiffany B Yes. You get the same flight benefits and you can take off as much as you want. You can give away your shifts, shift trade, pay someone to pick up your shifts, etc. Flight benefits are unlimited. Great question!
The Bohemian Traveler thanks so much I'm trying to apply for gate/ticket customer service!! It's hard if you don't know anyone I applied so many times :( Btw I messed up my comment but thanks for understanding exactly what I meant 😩😂😂❤️
Tiffany B Keep applying! It took me so many tries from when I got laid off of Delta to the current job that I have now. Trust me, it will eventually happen.
Marlon Briceño Great question. Flights are unlimited. However, you just need to make your work schedule open enough to fly where you want to go. Also, you need to check how many open seats there are for your particular flight. Availability can also depend on The airports that are located near you. For instance, I live in Southern California and I have five airports within an hour from me. However, some other places in the US may only have one airport within two hours of them. Which airports are you near?
I'm currently living in Roanoke, VA and the airport is 15 minutes away. however, this is a regional airport tho. You can still travel from this airport to Washington D.C. Atlanta, New York. I might be a part time but I don't anything about how often I'll be able to travel. Do I need to work certain hours in order to be able to do it?
Marlon Briceño generally, if you have flight benefits as part of your job, I doubt there is a minimum amount of hours unless they told you ahead of time. For instance, I only work six hours a week and I still get full flight benefits. Generally, the only ones that I know that do not get to have flight benefits are people who take a leave of absence of more than 30 days. Since you're in Virginia, aren't you really close to other airports as well like New York and LaGuardia? You can fly out of any airport. Not just the airport that you work at.
Marlon Briceño I can fly as much as I want to. It is unlimited. You just go on the computer and list yourself for the flight that you want. It's not a set amount.
Hi Nadia, I really appreciate you doing this video. I'm working on becoming an independent journalist and would like to travel, covering national and global stories. I want to work for the airlines so I can travel for free, but I don't know the best airline to work for and which positions to apply for. What would you suggest? For a little background info on me, I'm 29yrs old, black male, very sociable, and have two semesters left for an associates degree. Thanks again for your video.
JuJu Bean Great question. My favorite airline to work for was Delta. I loved the travel benefits and and how we were treated. However, any airline that gives you both domestic and international travel benefits would be fine. Since your main goal is to travel and be a photojournalist, find an airline that suits your needs. Also, look for an airline that would be easy to have a life outside of your airline job. If you don't have much baggage and can travel for a career, fight attending would be great because you would be able to go different locations while working. Customer service and ramp suit me at the moment because I need to be home near my family. Good luck, and let me know how it goes!
The Bohemian Traveler Flight attending might be a bit difficult for me since I'm 6'4" tall. lol. As for positions, I'm assuming customer service also gets travel benefits? Thanks for suggeting other airlines, I'll definitely look into them.
JuJu Bean yes, customer service definitely gets flight benefits. Any position does as long as you're working for the airlines. I'm excited for to start this journey!
Ivan Salinas Yes they do! I only work 6 hrs a week and still get full flight benefits. I say if you have opportunity, go for it. It's such a great perk. Thanks for watching!
Bohemian Momma I know you said United but that differs from airline to airline. I worked for AA and I'm now with WN, ours are based on check in times so seniority doesn't matter as much. But good to have you part of the ramp family!
peacelife Really? Wow, that is so interesting! I've been employed with 3 Airlines Delta, United and my current one and it's all based on seniority for us.Thanks for letting me know that there are other ways that Airlines do the check in process. Thanks for the ramp welcome!! I'm glad to be a part of the ramp family!
Hey, so I've listen to your story and I'm very intrigued you said you worked for United. So, my question is so United Temporary workers get benefits and also can you give me a brief synopsis of your experience being with a ramp agent
Ché Hello. I'm pretty sure United temporary workers get flight benefits. You just have to use them while you are still employed with them. Double check with them just in case things have changed. I love being a ramp worker. I get the camaraderie that comes with working with a team players and there's a satisfaction that comes when we get the flight out on time. I am still cross utilized as a customer service agent at times, but for me, ramp is more my speed. I will do a more in depth video about ramp life soon.
David Mu a flight attendant is a steward/stewardess and focuses on safety while the plane is in the air. They serve food and drinks inflight. A ramp attendant puts the bags on the plane, brings the plane in with hand gestures, pushes the plane out, and services the plane with blue juice and water.
Nomadic Vet Wow! Congratulations! It’s totally up to you! Southwest had a great employee satisfaction but United flies everywhere. What a wonderful position to be in. I think they both pay about the same.
Hey thanks so much for you wonderful video! So if I got this right you work only 8-10 hours a week and still get the perks?! Is this with all airline companies?
Vee Bell thank you so much for watching! I appreciate that. Yes, as long as you work the minimum hours that they require, you will still get your flight benefits. I used to work about six hours a week in the old company,. Now my minimum that I need to work for the current bid is about 7 1/2 hours a week. It works out really well. I think it’s the same for most companies.
The Bohemian Traveler No problem thanks for the helpful advice!!! Also side question...I have a friend who says his shift rotates like every 3 months with the airline he works with. I want to say he is a ticket agent. Is that the same with all companies? Or can you get a set schedule? Or is that just for ticket agents?
Vee Bell Most shifts change every three months. I don’t know any gate agents that have set schedules. However, keep you’re senior enough, you can bid generally the same shift.
I just applied for a ready reserve baggage handler position for delta. I live only about 30 mins from the airport. I’ve had the traveling bug since I went to the Bahamas and Puerto Rico when I was about 23. Traveling is life!!!Traveling is my passion count me in if I can just work minimal hours per week. Give me my free flights!!! Lol Once the Traveling bug bites you there’s no cure lol. Also I wanted to know are international flights free or is there a fee?
Jasmine Celestin haha. Once it’s in your blood it never leaves!! When I worked for Delta, everything was 100% free. Even international. At my current airline, we have to pay international taxes. So for my most recent Germany trip, it was $37. Domestic is free.
I’m a flight attendant now and being a gate agent honestly sounds like a great transition. Being able to go home everyday is so much better and no turbulence 😅
Lol. For me it was the perfect balance. I love the industry yet, I love stability and I love my home. I wish you the best!
I love working for the airline. It’s good to keep in mind that no matter where you’re at on the team, without that position you’re doing (whether you’re flight attendant or ramp agent) it all has to come together to keep the operation going.
You are so right. Words of wisdom right there.
I thought it was kind of weird that they gave me a second interview two weeks after the first phone interview but I'm not going to question it lol
ThatGirlSMOKEY SLUG don't question it! LOL
I have a job interview to become a ramp agent tomorow and I'm watching videos to get some insight and advice. Reading trough your comments helped me thank you!
Sam Brown Awesome!!! Good luck!! You'll do great. Be enthusiastic and smile a lot. Fit your airline's brand. Please let me know how it goes!
I just came back and I got the job :D starting next month for a german company.
Really excited to do this because I don't know anyone who did this jo. It will be a very new experience
Sam Brown Congratulations! I'm so excited for you!! A new experience and a new adventure. You'll do great. Will you get flight benefits?
It's actually just a part time job for me cause I'm a student working there for a temporary employment agency so I guess I won't get any flight benefits. I'll be there for a couple months and when everything goes well they can hire me
Sam Brown Nice!
Update - Finished training last week - Tomorrow I begin working on my own, Sunday and Monday off , 12-8:30 is my shift - will be doing ticket counter until I am fully trained in Gates -
Thanks for all your videos - xoxoox
Thank you so much for watching! And congratulations on your position- and you already get partial weekends? That is fantastic. Pace yourself and make sure you use your benefits.🙌🏾🙏🏾

OMG! No! LOL. Best wishes in your endeavors. I hope you get it. And you're right, once it's in your blood, it never leaves!
Thank you. I went for the same path. Always in our "blood".
💯
I just hired with UA. But i am in kitchen area (preparing those passenger's meal). Yep i had free flight benefits too.. 😊😊😊😊
happy tulips Yay!!!
Nice! You'll get there.
what is the title of the job that you do the catering for the planes?
Man. I feel that deep in my soul. It is such a blessing to be home every day but you can still travel when you want to. The best of both worlds!
Well congratulations! We have so much in common. I hope you love it. I do. You’ll actually have a life now. What airline will you be working for?
Thank you so much, Nidia… Same one you’re with, actually, and at a smaller station here in CA as well. In some ways it’ll feel like coming home as it’s the same airport I so often flew in and out of as an FA, but I know the work and dynamic with our passengers will be a whole new world for me. Praying I’ve not completely lost my game. ;) Thank you again, Nidia. Blessings and safe travels to you!
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you so much! I appreciate that.
Hey! So cool to find this. I am interviewing for Fleet Service... after 6 years in AA Reservations, I had to resign too... yes, you cannot NOT have travel benefits. Hopeful fleet service works out. :)
Good luck on your interview! They are hiring so much! Let me know how it goes.
I went to the interview and didn't get hired, then the same airline hired me for flight attendant lol it wasn't meant to be
R That's so interesting. Usually it's harder to be a flight attendant. Try again!! You will eventually get it!
which airline?
how are you traveling like that teachers don't get paid that much ?
She isn't a teacher any longer.
What does gate agent do?
I just got hired for ramp and I have a little one. I think I made the right choice over customer service.
RockCandyBoudoir I think you did. At my current airline I started out customer service and then transferred to ramp. This means I'm cross utilized and can do both. I love the vibe behind the scenes with my fellow rampers. I'm so excited for you!! Are you getting free flights with your new company?
...and the bags don't cuss!
Thank you! And I totally agree. Being an FA introduced me to a world I never thought I would be apart of. It's definitely stuck in my system forever!
LaKendria Harvey Mine too!
HEYYYYYY❣️❣️❣️❣️
I’m a Respiratory Therapist too!!! 😃
Funny thing is, I’ve always wanted to be a flight attendant! Since I was 6 years old! Now I’m going to be 52 this September. I doubt that they would consider hiring me at this age.
I think for me, it would kill my pocket book. I’ve been an RT sine 1995. I make about $80k/year and only have to work twelve nights a month.
Hey respiratory!🤣 it is never too late to be a flight attendant. Many times they hire older people. But yes, your pocketbook will definitely suffer.🤣
Love your content. I have a lot of your videos to catch up on
Omg. Thank you soo much!!!
Ramp is a blessing. Good exercise, too.

I would like to ask:
1) Did you get to keep the Tumi luggage and uniforms?
@@TheBohemianTraveler That was FAST and incredibly helpful. Bless you, TBT

Even as a new hire, she bid to only work Friday through Sunday so that she was there for her family during the school week. Airlines like UA may not be as flexible in the beginning. Ask yourself, will you regret not going for it? Or, are you fully content where you are? Plz let me know what you decide!!!
Yes Its usually the other way around, but we all have our reasons take care always.
Thanks For Sharing your story with the world.
Dexter Greene Yes it is. Take care as well. Thanks for watching!
The Bohemian Traveler Your Welcome and im in the Airlines business Delta Airlines .
Dexter Greene Delta is the best! That was my favorite airline to work for.
The Bohemian Traveler Thank you its a good Airline to work for I've been at Delta For over 10 years.
How do you manage to find a part time ramp agent job I thought everyone hires full time?
Your right once it's in your blood it stays
Monica Ray It sure is!
(I know it's an old video, lol) I'm thinking of becoming a ramp agent but a little hesitant, and haven't seen a woman doing it yet, so I was curious.
kaliana808 At least have of the rampers at my station are women. It can be done. I wish you the best.
Would you ever make a video of how to travel? Like making the plans, money, getting rooms set up.... travel destinations while there...?
Princess Diaries and healing what a great idea! Yes I will do that. I wish I would’ve read your comment last week when I went on vacation. OK, the next time I go I will do that.
The Bohemian Traveler thank you!
Thank you so much for the video. Do you a video for interviewing an Airline?
Yes I have many videos about that. Check out my last third or fourth video that I did. It goes from application to interview.
How do you get a job as a ramp agent because i want to be one but I don't know who to talk to, to become a ramp agent
PLEASE ANSWER
Aiden Blanckenberg Go to the airlines websites and then click on careers. It should prompt you from there. I’ve gotten my jobs on indeed.com. Good luck!
Thanks for this great video. Did you have to know international city codes as well as domestic before training?
Thank you l! For 2 of my airlines I had to know them. For the other 2 I didn’t.
Good luck!
Ur right I have some Dream to be come flight attendant I finished my college as flight attendant but I don't job
Thank you very informative
Thank you for watching!
Jeffrey Bernard I’m not sure. Every station and airline is different. Thank you for watching my videos.
@@TheBohemianTraveler thanks🙏🏾
'Free travel' is making airlines like American sound bad, for taking 'service charges' out of people's paychecks. As much as you traveled with family, you wouldn't have much of a check left. That's fortunate to have gotten the same days off as your co-workers to go to Venice.
aaaa I love the vibe of an airplane too 👌
Jungwooo There's nothing quite like it. Right?!
The Bohemian Traveler yep :)
I passed the background and drug test over a week ago. How long does it usually take for them to call me for training? Is there someone I should call?
Klizzlll I studied a lot ahead of time with my city codes. It was both matching and fill in the blanks. Study ahead of time and have it perfect.
Hello. Do you get the same benefits on flights when you do any of these positions(customer service, ticketing, ramp or flight attendant) tha k you for the video!!!
Emmanuel Gonzalez Yes! You get the same flight benefits.
I know this is a job that is supposed to pay really well but for some reason there is an agency in a little country called Guyana that pays their ramp staff 15 US dollars per flight, and that company is Roraima Airways, some people can be very greedy with money
Wow. That’s interesting. Many US companies don’t pay much as well. Many people work for the airline for the experience and travel benefits.
Commuting is why you hated it that’s the worst. If you live at your base it’s great !😊
@@SneakyCaleb you’re absolutely right!!!! I have friends that live at base and I believe it is a game changer.
I want to transit from nursing to this field/ industry but don't know where to start. Any advice?
I was A flight attendant with Delta airlines I just got hired as a Ramp Service Agent with Swissport !!
No way!!!! Congratulations! You took the same route as me. 🤣
@The Bohemian Traveler thank but i declined swissport im a Ramp agent with American Airlines/ Piedmont.
@@BryanTheeStallion that’s awesome!
That’s a great story love it
AAord 757 thank you so much! And thank you so much for watching.
Best. Ending. Ever.
Southsideman Lol! I totally forgot about the ending. No one ever mentioned it. That was before I knew how to edit and there was no way I was going to re-tape. Thanks for your comment. Now I can’t stop laughing! 😂🤣
+The Bohemian Traveler :)
I have a interview for gate agent with an airline I’m nervous got pass the phone interview , did you ever do a role play for the face to face?
Yes! And they will ask you about how you handled conflict or a difficult situation at work. With the role play, don't offend the customer, stay within company guidelines and if you can't handle it, always tell them that you will contact your lead to help with the situation.
When you travel do you stay at different hotels
Yes we do.
I was a ramp agent when I was in my early 20's while attending college. It was fun driving around the ramp in a Tug. I enjoyed the physical aspect of the job as well as working outside.
exsxpx1 I do too. It's very invigorating.
So yes, you make a higher rate, but, Those are only flight hours.
so what about the speakers? like someone who speaks french? they will schedule him for only french countries or not?
esplikia7 Great question!
What kind of experience, if any, does it take to be a ramp agent? No airline experience here but I'd love to work in the airlines industry.
T Perez , United airline is hiring for ramp agent at O'hare. Go to www.united.com/career . you might find for the other airports. thank you
RATED congratulations!!! No jeans!
Where did you learn about the cattle call? Also was it your first one?
hipretty hipretty Hello. What job are you looking to apply for?
hipretty That was my first group interview but I've been to two for ramp and one for customer service
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
I have 2 kids I really want to get a job in the industry just did my application for the only opening I’m praying that I get a call
Dayana Garcia I pray you get it!!! What a wonderful opportunity for you and your family. Thanks for watching!
The Bohemian Traveler can you please make a video on what do they ask on the interview for Ramp agent? What are some of the questions
Nelson Diaz am also willing to join airlines but I have no one to assist
Nelson Diaz delta is hiring
There’s a sense of peace you will get.
i work on the ramp
victor perez Nice. Do you like it?
yes i do i git 10 years in and im a ramp lead
victor perez wow. Lots of experience!
Bohemian Momma yes i do i love when i fly bacj home to the Dominican republic
victor perez that's such a great perk that you can go visit your homeland. I heard it's a Beautiful place.
Ive heard the ramp agent is hard work? Strenuous on your body? Is that so?
Yes, it can be. But I was part time so it wasn’t too bad for me. I would work my days so that I was only working about 6 to 8 hours a week. And I would also give up shifts. I enjoyed though, and learned how to lift bags without hurting myself.
Did you kept your seniority after moving to ramp?
Unfortunately I didn’t.
Any advice on what the job is like
Every day is different.
Lol. I was new to RUclips at that point.
If your airline only does domestic, are you and your family able to travel internationally with any other airline?
Jillian Mac Knight yes, generally airlines have agreements with other airlines and you can fly at a reduced rate. We call them ID 90s and ID 95's. That means that you get 90% off the rate or 95% off. It will all depend upon who your airline partners with. Generally, there are many partners that you can fly on. It's easier to fly on your own airline though. This is because you have access to all the airline loads and the standby list. Thanks for watching!!
What Agency in Midway do you recommend to apply for Ramp Agent?.
I work at OHare. I recommend Southwest or Delta if you want to work as ramp agent. But make sure you can life 55 lbs comfortably, they do a physical and during the physical they measure your heart rate. They don't want people out of shape. Have fun and be careful.
Great video. Great story.

Is there an age requirement to work for the airline , flight attendants, customer service, or ramps I am currently 41 years old and look to go back to work once I am 42 years old in January?
Generally minimum is 18 for CS and ramp and 21 for FA. 42 is a good age to start. Let me know how it goes!

if given the opportunity to work with airlines specially United. how often you can travel? how does it looks? 😁
The Bohemian Traveler , as you're currently 6, 8 hours per week. How often can you flight?
Marlon Briceño I can fly as much as I want to. It is unlimited. You just go on the computer and list yourself for the flight that you want. It's not a set amount.
Can you work part time and fly for free?
Sonia Huggins Yes. I only work 6-8 hours a week and I still can fly. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for everything and best wishes on your journey.
What is the age limit for a customer service or ticket agent
Can a part time ramp agent receive
flight benefits?
Ivan Salinas Yes they do! I only work 6 hrs a week and still get full flight benefits. I say if you have opportunity, go for it. It's such a great perk. Thanks for watching!
The Bohemian Traveler hey. I'm looking to be a flight attendant as well as an internship. What advice do you have for me for a new comer.
So you have the same fly benefit like fly attendant?? same standby policy??
peacelife Yes you do!!! And, if you have you more seniority than the flight attendant, you bump them!
Hey, so I've listen to your story and I'm very intrigued
you said you worked for United.
What's the difference between a flight attendant and a ramp attendant?
David Mu a flight attendant is a steward/stewardess and focuses on safety while the plane is in the air. They serve food and drinks inflight. A ramp attendant puts the bags on the plane, brings the plane in with hand gestures, pushes the plane out, and services the plane with blue juice and water.
Which airline pays better?
I have 2 job offers 1 from united and 1 from southwest which should I go for?
Nomadic Vet Wow! Congratulations! It’s totally up to you! Southwest had a great employee satisfaction but United flies everywhere. What a wonderful position to be in. I think they both pay about the same.
I’ve got a son with a channel. Loved the video.
Brooklyn Rendo That’s so cool. My son as well. Thank you sooo much!!
Hello there where can I apply for a job where you work for?
Are u still on the ramp?
Not anymore. I do ticketing and gates.
I would like to connect with you privately, concerning scheduling.
ABQ SKY give me your email address.
