All About Flying Airport Standby!!!!
So nervous. I’ll be on standby in February to hawaii
please make a video about and say something how you started and interweaving. thanks
@@Munibtype1 I think I’ve made videos about that. But in a nutshell, I just went on, indeed or the companies websites and put my application in. Sometimes I got an interview within a day or two and other times it took four months to get interviewed.
@TheBohemianTraveler thanks for letting me know Scared me four months, I am so curious to get into Thanks
@@Munibtype1 I hope you get it!! No matter what, keep trying!!
Does CS require offsite training?
@@Tweety-i7t Yes. Most of my training was out of state. ❤️
How can you transition from ramp to flight attendant?
I finally finished my online training. I begin my hands on training tomorrow. I am nervous. What will I be trained on? 🤔
Congrats on your new job! Are you doing Ramp or customer service? I’m not sure what they will train you on, but remember safety is number one. How do you like it so far?
3 years as a ramp agent here with SW and have about 7 years of experience doing other aviation related things. Just got an offer to go inflight but strongly reconsidering taking the role due to what you mentioned here. I’d love to be on the go but eventually may want to start a family / be there consistently for them. Any advice? 👀
@@dwill6935 congratulations on your offer!!! It’s totally up to you. I do have a friend who is a mom and a FA for SW and she has work-life balance. Even as a new hire, she bid to only work Friday through Sunday so that she was there for her family during the school week. Airlines like UA may not be as flexible in the beginning. Ask yourself, will you regret not going for it? Or, are you fully content where you are? Plz let me know what you decide!!!
Say goodbye to norma life ☝️ You will do am and pm each day. So you basically need to take quick 2 to 4 hour rests mon - friday ☝️ If u lucky, you get sat n sundays off
I interviewed for Skywest very detailed an do cherry pick who they want to hire you will be judged off of appearance speech and your work experience. The only real great perk to work in this industry i hearrd is the the Traveling Miles Perk/Benefit To each is own do your own homework and research.
Yeah, the best benefits are definitely the travel perks. I used to work with Skywest. They definitely judge on appearance. I remember during the cattle call, anyone that wore jeans was eliminated.
If I could do it all over again I would have transferred to above the wing. As a gate or ticket agent. Wanted to do inflight but way back then I had a young child and another career. I primarily started for flight benefits. I'm @ IAH Sub Continental now United.
Hi there! A delta seasonal ramp agent opened up and I am applying! Do you know how ramp seasonal works by chance? Have you spoken to any rampers? I can’t find any info on how their schedule works. I heard agents can work 3/4 months in a row. That’s something I am not interested in. Is this true? I was expecting 1 or 2 months on then off for a couple of months. I’m sure it is different with every station but I would love to know if you have advice or can interview a seasonal ramp agent for us?
I will be starting soon asa seasonal. Good to be able to see some of the work
Hey there, just wondering how’s it going with your seasonal position! What are your hours looking like nowadays? Each bit you work how long do you work for a month month and a half? I hear some stations work three months straight and they’re off for the rest of the year or other stations work one month a month and a half about three times a year . Well some seasonal agents like you like to spread it out throughout the year. What is it? What is your schedule looking like nowadays? Thank you so much for always answering our questions! I hope you and I hope you’re still traveling. Thank you for being an inspiration.
Did you go to the blvd bash?
@@kimelajames1277 I didn’t go this year. I went to Portugal instead. But I did go the last two years. Did you go this year?
@@TheBohemianTraveler yes this was my second year going. My husband enjoys the food and learning about Delta history. I’m currently working at the Pittsburgh International Airport and I have an interview today in cargo. I’ve been there for 6 months staying with family. Please say a prayer for me that I get to return home in Atlanta.
@@kimelajames1277 praying you get it!!!!!❤️❤️❤️ let me know what happens.
@@TheBohemianTraveler I definitely will. I started out in Cabin and now Cargo Call Center.
@@TheBohemianTraveler I got the job!!! I’ll be back home next week. I’ve been thanking God for my miracle.
Good evening how are you. Thank you for your video, its very helpful. I am starting my new Customer service agent training with Air France. What advise would you give me as a new Customer Service Agent to be successful in this job.
Is there a minimum amount of hours you must work at AA to qualify for flight benefits?
second you are instated into your job even while in training you will receive flight benefits.
How do you manage to find a part time ramp agent job I thought everyone hires full time?
Do you have a tips for people that just got this job, like about vehicle and bag
@@HafizShamsuri congratulations!! My advice is safety first. Don’t rush when it comes to driving the vehicle. Beware of your surroundings. I’m so excited for you!!
Love your videos! Thank you for sharing. They are very detailed and informative.
@@chosen1316 thank you soo much for watching!! I appreciate it.
What's transferring like for United? My brother is a dispatcher for UGE trying to transfer to Las Vegas he's currently based in Colorado. They've been giving him the run around, they said transferring to one of the hubs like Chicago or San Diego are more realistic. Is this true more or less....
@@702TifosiGambler when I worked there, it wasn’t a transfer, it was applying to a brand new company. As long as there are openings he should be able to apply in LAS. I think they say places like ORD are easier to get because of the large number of employees they hire. Good luck to your brother!! I wish him the best.🙏🏾❤️
I feel scared, i just got a job today and will start in 2 week. I cant help but feeling nervous lol.. I hate this feeling!
@@SeranaKarn congratulations!!! I get it!!! It’s super stressful when you start something new. Your feelings are totally normal. I hope you love your new job!
You are lucky, as we have to aim for a spot on the aircraft where that little wheel on the arm that touches the aircraft to the right of the door. I think it's the auto-level. It would be much easier if we could aim for a spot in the middle below the door.
Bohemian Traveler are you still with D airlines? I took a 6 mos transfer to Pitt. International Airport and I’m ready to head home to Atlanta.
Thank you for this😊just got a job a PSA and plan on doing flight attendant but ramp Agent sounds interesting 😊
@@ReginaGinamaria79 oh my goodness! Congratulations!

@@desertgirl483 you’re so kind! Good luck! I hope you get it!
I am loving your videos!
How do you become “seasonal”?
Is this United ground express? Do you guys get flight benefits? What about zed fare?
@@Hasib7 yes. When I was with them, you had the exact same benefits as United Airlines mainline. And yes zed fares as well.
@@TheBohemianTraveler Ah!! Thanks so much for the reply, I’ve been researching this for ages but wasn’t able to find anything. I’m switching to UGE from AA mainline (transferred stations), so I’m glad these are still here. Only con is check in is based on seniority. ☹️☹️ What about priority with UGE vs UA mainline? Is mainline ahead of us on standby?
Commuting is why you hated it that’s the worst. If you live at your base it’s great !😊
@@SneakyCaleb you’re absolutely right!!!! I have friends that live at base and I believe it is a game changer.
I just got a ramp agent job , your videos help out alot thank you !!!
Congratulations!!!!!
I’m going to training to work at BWI airport. Hopefully, I’ll get to meet you.
Congratulations! I would love that. Let me know how training goes.
Hi, it is so good seeing you make videos again!! I just wanna say that you’ve been a complete inspiration and I give thanks to you for my career journey at the airlines. I was just seeing if you were willing to chat with me about making videos I am interested and making videos and small blogs for my TikTok and Instagram I know that there’s a lot of regulations when it comes to airlines and want to talk about and what not to talk about and what not to mention things that go against airline regulations when it comes to employees and I’m wondering if you can give me those tips those dues and mainly theI don’t wanna get these
Thank you so much for the kind words. You could email me and we can chat. My email is iamthebohemiantraveler@gmail.com.
Such a delightful woman
Thank you!!
How do you know which bags to take and which bags to leave? How long was training for this?
Training for me was quick. You’ll know according to the airport code on the bag. For instance, if I was only loading San Francisco bags, I would only pull the ones that say SFO.
@@TheBohemianTraveler OK Thank you for getting back to me.
I really love how you do your post. I work as a customer service, too. i Would really like to start a youtube traveling i really do know where to start any idea tips you could give me thanks

Do you get medical and dental?
Part-time and full-time do. I’m seasonal now so I don’t get those benefits.
@@TheBohemianTraveler OK Thanks for getting back on this.
I know this is an old video, but I just found your channel. When you travel when do you book your hotel and/or what site do you use? I booked through priceline for the first time after getting assigned a seat and it gave me a tad bit of anxiety not knowing and having confirmed transportation pre-arranged 😂
I generally just go on Expedia and get it when we land. 🤣 I sometimes do it when I am on the plane and get my seat. But I definitely try not to do it ahead of time because I don’t want to pay for some thing if I don’t get there. But before I go on vacation, I already know what my options are and then I just book it after I am sure I will make it. Thank you so much for watching my videos!
Wow safe journey my dear, when are you planning to visit Africa?
Thank you!!! I have no idea when…. But it’s definitely on my list!
Put your plants on wheels or use a large jug to water them in place.

What is considered a part-time agent minimum amount of hours? I’m interviewing for a ramp agent through American Airlines
Congratulations! When I was American, 30 hours and less was considered part time. Let me know how your interview went.
Do you know what the minimum amount of hours they require you to work as a part-time employee?
Every airline is different. Some require a specific amount yearly. Some require that you work 50% of your shifts, others might not have a minimum as long as you can get your shifts covered.
This is my dream job!!! Thank you for sharing your experience! ❤️❤️
Thank you for watching! Let me know when you get the job!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hey Bohemian Traveler! I'll never forget when I commented on one of your videos about being a ramp agent back in 2019 and you were of great assistance! That was my first ever job here in El Paso or I still live. I was only there for a few months and then I became a cabin cleaner with ABM that's contracted with Southwest (my favorite airline) for about a year and a half just before the pandemic in March 2020 up until September 2021. Now I'm working as a ground transportation monitor since July 2022 at ELP. As of a couple of days ago, I received an email from Delta stating that they're inviting me to an interview for the same position you're talking about, a seasonal ticket/gate agent! I forgot I had applied for it back in April. I'm really excited because I know I can officially get my foot in the door with the airlines, as well as a lot of benefits. You answered a lot of questions in this video. However, I was surprised that there's no health insurance for the seasonal position if I heard correctly. By the way, how is the PAT? Any other advice or tips you'd like to share? Thank you so much for the video, they're so helpful!
Congratulations on your interview! For the Pat test, just make sure that you are able to pick up every weight. Do not stop until you finish picking everything up. No health insurance because you are not going to be working that many hours. I really hope you get it! Let me know how it went.🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️
A little late to the party, but just wanted to give you a huge thanks! As soon as I applied for the ticket/gate agent position with a huge company I started watching your videos and learned so much about the job and interview process. The more I watched, the more I knew I wanted the job. And.....today I received the email that made it officially official, I got the job!!!! So again, thank you. Your videos are not only informational, but true and from the heart.
Oh my gosh! I appreciate that. Congratulations! That is so wonderful. You are in for a great adventure!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
How soon can you use flight benefits?
Immediately!!!!🙌🏾 it may take a little bit longer for your dependents to get the benefits because you may need to send the paperwork to them.
@@TheBohemianTraveler it’s just me my wife and our 7 month old how soon do you think we can start flying? Thanks for the response !!🙏🏼I accepted the offer
@@Elijah2K it totally depends. At one of my airlines, it took about 48 hours after I sent it all the paperwork. Others, it happened immediately. How exciting! You’ll be able to show your family the world. Congrats again.
@@TheBohemianTraveler so I did my drug test Thursday and my background check is already complete when do you think they will reach out?
@@Elijah2K nice! I have no clue. Sometimes it takes a long time, sometimes it’s right away. Sometimes it just depends on how quickly they need you to start or how quickly they are able to set you up with training.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!!!
