Wow have never seen using the lid to rest the brush to dry it before! That is the most helpful tip seen in a long time. Thank you, that's awesome and learned a lot!
I'm not trying to be negative, I just want to leave an honest review. I do commercial cleaning. One contract we have already had a Libman brush at every toilet. The caddy is great but the brush is too stiff with too few bristles. It does not get the corners down in the hole at all. The rubbermaid commercial is a decent brush. So far it's the best one I have used but I admit that I am still looking for a better one. That's why I am watching this video. Thanks for the reviews!
Seemingly nice wand, BUT --- when the pad goes down the toilet (instead of into the trash can) it gets VERY EXPENSIVE. Yes, it happened and here's a quick summary of the results: (1) The renter [or a helpful friend?] cleaned his/her apartment toilet on move-out day. Nobody has admitted to doing it, but somehow the Chlorox disposable toilet cleaning pad went down the toilet and out of sight. (2) Checking the vacant apartment, the caretaker and later the property manager flushed the toilet [water only] and it looked/worked fine. (3) The next day a new tenant moved into the apartment and later she used it. The solid wastes immediately blocked the toilet, the bowl filled and sewage overflowed onto the floor. (4) The maintenance guy tried a plunger and then a snake to clear the toilet drain. Neither worked. The snake grabbed something, jammed, and could not be pulled back out. The toilet was removed and the blockage was not visible from either the toilet bowl or the toilet's exit hole. (5) A brand new toilet had to be purchased and installed. (6) The old toilet, with snake still stuck inside, was taken outdoors and broken with a hammer. VOILA! The Chlorox toilet wand's pad was on the end of the snake and there was a load of "sewage" piled up on the bowl-side of the lovely pad. BOTTOM LINE --- This is a "CRAPPY" DESIGN, not unlike little children swallowing and choking on small toys. SUGGESTION --- Provide larger [flush-proof] pads, or trash this product as a potentially expensive hazard.
Any tips on cleaning the toilet OUTside of the bowl area? I have some difficulty reaching behind the toilet and cleaning all the nooks and crannies associated with the outside toilet. A big challenge is contorting my body to reach every area. Perhaps there are tools or tricks that could help me. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. I appreciate your expertise!
Good review. I like that Squatty Potty, hidden toilet brush design. That’s a great idea! As for that last one you reviewed, the “Wild Minimalist” wood toilet brush, there will be a cold day in hell first, before I pay $55 for a toilet brush! 😧
LOL. Oddly, there is a market for it. Some people like to have the most expensive of everything, so I'm trying to figure out why it is only $55. The makers could probably charge $1,000 for it and still have buyers. 😆
It's the organic can be composted at end of life that can make people shell out 55 dollars. 😉👍. I'd do it if I had a golden spoon existence, but for now I'm using my plastic el cheapo brushes until the end of time it seems, since they are still going strong after 10 years!
Oh Angela yucky toilet brushes are one of my pet peeves. I always carry a brand new toilet brush which I buy from Walmart for $3 so I can replace the super dirty ones I find. Btw I bought the Clorox wand based on your recommendation & I like it so far.♥️TFS.
Angela thanks again. I love listening to your voice you’re very calm, smart and to the point. I ordered that lens tree brush today I’m never thought I’d be so excited for a toilet bowl brush to come in
I want thank you for your videos. I have lupus and a whole host of other disorders,I find your videos help me make better choices that are healthier. The video about depression really hit home with me. I do have a helper that comes once a month. So I have things ready for her. With your videos I realize maintenance is my part to help my helper. I also realize that when I’m sick, it’s less work on her when I can’t do anything, because I have been keeping up with the maintenance of my home. Oh and I have less sick days or infection. Thank you for this life saving platform. It’s not just tips.🙏💕
Yes, toilet brushes can absorb water that may contain germs and bacteria. That is why it is important to clean and disinfect the toilet brush properly after each use to prevent the spread of harmful microorganisms.
I saw your recommendation (on another video) that each toilet in a house should have its own toilet brush, and so I picked up one for the upstairs bathroom from the Dollar Tree, plus some Lime-a-Way toilet bowl cleaner which some Dollar Tree haul videos had suggested was pretty effective on rust/hard-water stains in toilet bowls (a longtime problem in that upstairs toilet). Now I just have to get around to using that stuff! (I should probably also get some rubber or nitrile gloves to wear while cleaning the toilet, though.)
Which brush would you recommend both of my kids have colon problems. They go up to 10 times a day. It can be embarrassing for them especially if visiting someone's house
Hi Tammy, Any toilet brush will do. And if there is one next to the toilet it can become a natural habit to flush and brush the toilet after each use if necessary. There are even inexpensive toilet brushes at the dollar tree that works really well. Colon problems sound horrible. I'm so sorry your kids (and your family) are experiencing this. I pray for their speedy recovery. 🙏
Hi Angela, we use a Lubeka in the bathrooms instead of a toilet brush, they are expensive but I’m assured one will last a lifetime. These are more for everyday toilet spot-cleaning rather than scrubbing, but we also use it with a deposable washing up sponge when the toilet needs a proper scrub so now we’ve been able to throw away all out brushes.
+Natum Dormientes Thanks so much for the tip. It’s great to hear other ways of cleaning things like toilets. I’m always fascinated by other products we can use. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Hej Angela, Great show you have. A question, have you seen the Sanimaid brush ?, they wan the GIA award. Its the most hygienic toalet brush ever. tjeck it out ;)
Thanks for the video, lots of useful info, as always! Question: do we need to replace the toilet brush heads or do we need to wash them in any way? How often should that been done?
Just discovered your channel and it is super helpful. Couple questions: 1) If I have a silicone brush for maintenance, which system do you recommend I keep as an alternative for deep cleaning? 2) Which cleaning solution goes well with silicone brushes?
Thank you for your questions! Silicone brushes are great for daily cleaning! For deep cleaning, a good old bristle brush with a disinfectant solution is a great option. Any bleach-free cleaner that's safe for toilets will work well with your silicone brush.
I appreciate your review... now I know how to set my toilet brush to drain in the bowl @ 6:57; and currently im using the polder toilet brush; it's on sale on Costco's website :)
Everyone has their own toilet/cleaning procedures. The key is to find one that works for you - that you'll follow on a regular basis and stick with it. Thanks for the Costco tip. I'm a big Costco fan. :-)
I have a plumber friend and he told me that brushes scratch the porcelain. After time the scratches will start to show. He recommended that I use a plumbers pumas when cleaning rust or hard water rings and a cleanser with bleach in it. What do you think, is he right?
There used to be these toilet brushes on the market that had wire holding the bristles together. When the bristles wore down the wire frame would scratch the living daylights out of the porcelain. In the later years they've come out with nylon brushes that don't scratch toilet bowls. But if you use pumice stones and certain types of brushes you can scratch the bowls depending on the surface type. Example: The toilets in an RV are not made of porcelain or ceramic but rather a resin and they can scratch really easily. The newer bidet toilets also have resin components that need special care.
Our toilet has a constant blue ring above the water line and I have tried just about everything to get rid of it and so far nothing works. What can I use to get rid of this ring
I'm not 100% sure what it is but by the sound of it my guess is that someone used a pumice stone on the ring that was there. They scratched off the porcelain in that area. Then they applied a blue dyed toilet bowl cleaner at a later date and that dyed the ceramic of the bowl itself. If this is the case, you are the proud owner of a blue ring in your toilet.
Most toilet brushes are designed to work inside ceramic or porcelain coated toilet bowls. The key is to avoid brushes that have wire centers that attach the bristles. When the bristles wear down, the metal wire in the center can scratch the toilets. You have to look pretty hard anymore to find one of those toilet brushes with metal in the center (you can still buy them at the Dollar Tree - but for the most part, they are all plastic or resin.)
@@TheSisUNeed she clearly addresses this in the video - that is the homeowner’s or resident’s responsibility. No one wants toilet brushes being carted around in their car or throughout their house.
Hi Angela 🙋♀️🌹 I have A FEW QUESTIONS?? WHAT toilet bowl cleaner do you use????? I've been using ''Blue toilet cleaners '' and it's leaving blue stains. Question 2. is bleach bad for toilets. . ... I don't know what to use NOW. 👉😟. Question 3. if you have really bad stains under the rim , how do i clean them off.... mainly in the bigger holes. . . Not sure if it's from poo.
Hi Dianne, what chemical you use depends on what type of cleaning you are doing. For a regular maintenance clean I use a dry powdered cleanser with a plastic toilet brush. You don't need heavy duty chemicals if you don't have a mineral buildup. Really bad stains under the rim can be cleaned with a chemical cleaner and then maintained with powdered cleanser.
I just subscribed yesterday. I can't believe I haven't found you sooner. I am watching all your videos. Thank you for all your knowledge. I am learning so much. I wish you all the best in your business. Love all you have to say.
The Clorox brush poses an environmental problem. The last thing the world needs is more single use plastic and harsh chemicals. None of that is necessary or desirable to clean toilets or anything else. Some of you will disagree, and that's fine, but I'm speaking from 15 years cleaning and managing cleaners and clients. No need to create more waste. Other than that, great video. Love the rubber brush!!! 💚
Tom Hodges However there are many people that simply throw away the brushes and buy a new one especially when all they have to do is go to the dollar store and that is far more wasteful and harmful for our environment. It’s sad but I know many people who simply throw away the brush every two weeks or every month. It’s crazy. This is a fantastic solution for people who simply don’t want to clean the brushes and it’s far less wasteful. I think it’s important to see the big picture.
I’ve been watching more and more of your videos as I have a chaotic house I have to bring under control. Inherited one toilet brush that is completely not up to the task so I bought the chlorox one this summer as they were devolving into dangerous crap. Was curious about the TreeLen brush (which is silicon not rubber) and OMG the reviews are super-primo so I ordered one on the spot. Thanks so much for making the exact video I needed to see right now!! From Albuquerque New Mexico 🌶🐈🌶
I wanted to get your thoughts on how to get rid of mold on the inside of the toilet bowl where the water comes out? I have been renting an apartment for the last year and have noticed the black mold that has been coming out of the holes when I clean the toilet.
If you use a good toilet bowl cleaner, it should remove the mold. You can use a toilet brush daily to maintain the toilet and keep new mold at bay. Here is a video about the inner workings of a toilet ruclips.net/video/q9RMoKmbamM/видео.html and where the water comes from.
When I wipe down my toilet, do I have to use a disinfectant cleaner such as bleach, Lysol, or Clorox, or will any multi-surface cleaner work? For example, I love Mrs. Meyers products because they smell nice but they do not disinfect. Also what about vinegar and water as a toilet cleaner? Is it necessary to use a harsh disinfectant on a home toilet? Thanks.
I USED WINDEX ON OUR DAUGHTER-IN- LAW'S NEW TOILET IN HER NEW, BEAUTIFUL HOUSE. IT TOOK THE WHITE COLOR OFF, AND LEFT A "BLUE" STAIN THAT COULDN'T BE REMOVED. OF COURSE I REPLACED THE ENTIRE SEAT! PRAISE GOD I DIDN'T USE IT IN HER TUB, OR ON THE ENTIRE TOILET!
I keep a bottle of EO's Cleaner by the brush holder & spray the bowl & wash it after every use. It prevents mineral build up around & under the rim. It also only takes a minute & makes regular cleaning easier while keeping the bathroom smelling fresh & clean.
Hi, Angela I bought some T-shirts for amazon that you recommend I love them. Good quality. Thank so much! Can you recommend us a pants for work as a house cleaner???
Thanks. I am going to look. For that right now. Also I bought yesterday that Clorox toilet wand you recommend for one video I was using right now and I liked very much every thing you recommend is a good quality items.
For pants I usually buy Dickies or some other brand of loose fit cargo pants. Navy or black are less likely to show the grime. Any cargo pants with stain-resistant fabric and multiple pockets will do. Here is a link to a video on uniform shirts: ruclips.net/video/vX4GgF8HGd8/видео.html Check out the show notes below the video for links to shirts on Amazon. Good luck and keep me posted on your uniforms : )
Thank you so much. I have 3 newer kohler toilets that have a little nook that I just cannot get into with the standard stiff bristle brush. Also I really don't think stiff bristles are the best solution for regular cleaning. I was almost going to resort to rubber gloves and a rag! You saved me! LOL
Never ever have one in the house about there are 10 vet a bike pump get water out of bowel with it. Then use a once a week dish brush then dispose of it the pump gets you to water line dish brush helps to scrub out and below plus under rim. I worked in hospital Queen Elizabeth maternity hospital Edgbaston Birmingham and they in the 60s showed us how to clean a toilet properly the long handled brush helps to get rid of water from bowl by brushing it away to get to water line Aldi blue toilet cleaner good elbow griece even if it looks clean no it is not and once a week dismantle the lot and soak in hot soapy bleach water hinges the lot no one likes to talk about toilets but I am afraid we need to and if you have children teach them before using pop a drop of bleach down illuminates smells two sheets of paper no marks. Accidents tell mother children must be taught and some adults Check toilet before leaving it after use wipe button with antibacterial wipe as hands are dirty the lid is there for a reason to keep that flushed water in bowl keep clean and stay safe no toilet brush is good at all 😉 stay safe
Toilets come in many designs, which means different style brushes may be needed depending on the design. On top of that, people have different priorities. I appreciated this video even though I know I still need to do my own research - Angela just gave me a jump start so I know which ones are most likely to meet my needs.

Have you tried the plastic ones they sell at the Dollar Tree? They come in a cup/holder and they last 3-6 months with daily use. (And they are cheap.)

For example, I love Mrs. Meyers products because they smell nice but they do not disinfect. Also what about vinegar and water as a toilet cleaner? Is it necessary to use a harsh disinfectant on a home toilet? Thanks.
@@AskAngelaBrown Thank you so much. I watch your videos to learn more about cleaning my own home as I am not a professional house cleaner.
I USED WINDEX ON OUR DAUGHTER-IN-
LAW'S NEW TOILET IN HER NEW, BEAUTIFUL HOUSE.
IT TOOK THE WHITE COLOR OFF, AND LEFT A "BLUE" STAIN THAT COULDN'T BE REMOVED.
OF COURSE I REPLACED THE ENTIRE SEAT!
PRAISE GOD I DIDN'T USE IT IN HER TUB, OR ON THE ENTIRE TOILET!
There’s plenty of great cleaners with biodegradable surfactants that do a great job on toilets. Google them :0)
12:05 Who cleans their toilet every day? Interesting video!
You'd be surprised how many people clean it daily. Thank you for your feedback and thanks for watching.
I keep a bottle of EO's Cleaner by the brush holder & spray the bowl & wash it after every use. It prevents mineral build up around & under the rim. It also only takes a minute & makes regular cleaning easier while keeping the bathroom smelling fresh & clean.
CLORX HANDS DOWN… or up
They are certainly fun little brushes. :-)
Use Don Aslett toilet brush and cleaner
Thanks for watching the video.

Hi. Can you put the link of the shirts ? I would likke to buy some. Tnx
For pants I usually buy Dickies or some other brand of loose fit cargo pants. Navy or black are less likely to show the grime. Any cargo pants with stain-resistant fabric and multiple pockets will do. Here is a link to a video on uniform shirts:

Check out the show notes below the video for links to shirts on Amazon. Good luck and keep me posted on your uniforms : )
That toilet brush fixation...
LOL. I know right? Once you clean toilets with no toilet brush, they start looking like a necessity. ;-)
@@AskAngelaBrown Never cleaned a toilet without a toilet brush. Tell me more...
Thank you!
You bet!
Haha haha HAHA
Thanks for watching!
I appreciate your videos so much I recommend the best brush and I love it no muss no fuss!
+Candence Herpolsheimer thanks for the recommendation. I appreciate the feedback. 👍
Thank you so much. I have 3 newer kohler toilets that have a little nook that I just cannot get into with the standard stiff bristle brush. Also I really don't think stiff bristles are the best solution for regular cleaning. I was almost going to resort to rubber gloves and a rag! You saved me! LOL
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!
You're incredibly awesome!
Wow, thank you!
I love hearing how people do the same types of tasks. This was fascinating. Thanks for sharing. :-)
When someone never criticizes the products in any way it makes you wonder if this is just a way for them to make a buck.
Toilets come in many designs, which means different style brushes may be needed depending on the design. On top of that, people have different priorities. I appreciated this video even though I know I still need to do my own research - Angela just gave me a jump start so I know which ones are most likely to meet my needs.
Thanks for sharing your opinion. 👍
