as has surely been said... Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous shows them on fire at their peak. the songs just come alive. the 70s are known for the double live album and theirs is as good as any of them.
These guys are one of the GOATS imo…..Their “Thunder & Lightning” album in 81/82 is considered their “Metal” album (I would say Hard Rock) & is nothing but bangers from front to back……This is from an earlier album & it’s such a gorgeous Rock song
@@lizzyfan1986 Considering the band had evolved and changed in the past 2 albums before T&L, I'm surprised anyone was surprised anymore. I'm glad they evolved and changed with the times though. The album was a banger and it felt bringing Sykes in really re-energized the band. (I mean, Chinatown was kinda crap for the most part, but I still have a soft spot for many of the songs on Renegade and honestly thought it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be)
Now try this....'Still In Love With You', considered to be their most romantic ballad from Thin Lizzy. ruclips.net/video/5Wgb-5bLaLA/видео.html The song is about a break up and the live version has so much emotion from the vocals to the weeping guitars which sums up the versatility of their musical talent going from one extreme to the other with a rock classic like 'The Rocker'.
10/10 reaction. I agree with everything you said. Thin Lizzy spent some time looking for their sound. Listen to the early albums. They're not quite there yet. I love that. Same for musicians. You don't have to be the best at playing your instrument, but when you find a band that suits your playing style, that'll bring out the best of you, and maybe you can find a unique sound or style. When the whole is much more than the sum of its parts, you know you've got something special. Not saying they weren't special. They were all great musicians! But together they found a sound that would put them in - at least - my hall of fame. I dig that, so much!
The late great Phil Lynott. Just finished watching his documentary Songs For While I'm Away. The greatest Irish rocker. Where do we begin. The Rocker, Rosalie, Emerald, Southbound, Dancing in the moonlight, She Knows.
Not what one would expect from the title, eh? Pretty good dynamic and melodic changes considering when this came out. Solid rock song all around, with killer lead and rhythm guitar, and even a little touch of reggae thrown into the middle of it all. 10/10 guitar rock.
One of the great guitar solos in this song. Great live band, saw them live in 1976. Phil was a monster stage presence. Check out The Rocker or Fighting My Way Back. Straight ahead rock.
Really pleased you liked this. You shouls also check out 'Romeo and the Lonely Girl' from the same album, some great drumming and guitar work backing up a story of lost love.
I think Chod’s first reaction to the Lizzy was the song “Emerald”. Tough first listen, great song but more impactful to those of us of Irish descent. Thanks and cheers to Chod for not giving up on the greatest Irish rock band ever!!
The Hero and the Madman by Thin Lizzy. You may never have heard anything like it before. You may never want to hear anything like it ever again, but I like it a lot. It has a great guitar solo at the end.
Hi chod great to see you gave thin Lizzy another chance , definitely try EMERALD or BAD REPUTATION next , thin Lizzy were formed in Dublin Ireland and a long list of rock/ metal royalty have covered Lizzy songs including . Metallica, Megadeth, anthrax, smashing pumpkins, foo fighters, mastodon, iron maiden Sodom, warrant, bon Jovi , ace frehley and many more rip Phil.
Close, but I think the honor goes to Alice Coope with Michael Bruce and Glenn Buxton several years earlier. Lizzy was one of the best though. Robbo and Scott Gorham are hard to beat. And you have to love a band that has a lead singer that's a black irish bass player.
If you are going to do more Thin Lizzy , then you have to check out Emerald , from the LIVE AND DANGEROUS album , or my second vote would be Baby Drives Me Crazy , also from LIVE AND DANGEROUS . Oh ,hell , the whole LIVE AND DANGEROUS album rips !!!!

Well we were aware of Thin Lizzy in Ireland 🇮🇪 since they were formed in Ireland and played just up the street from when I grew up in the early 70s. Or do you think Ireland is still part of the UK, just wondering.
Glad you chose to stick with Thin Lizzy, they have a deep catalog. Go a bit obscure with Rockers like "Ballad Of a Hard Man", "Opium Trail", "Johnny the Fox Meets Jimmy the Weed", "Warrior", "Massacre ", or "The Holy War".. Thanks.
Thanks, Wil - Thin Lizzy were AWESOME - that double-guitar - and lead singer/bassist Phil Lynott (sadly, no longer with us) -- one thing many don't know - this is an IRISH band... I hope you listen to more of their songs.. appreciate your reactions!
Dude take it from an "older" Brit who grew up listening to Lizzy check out tracks from Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous There's an energy to the live stuff where these guys shine!
Great choice Chod but if you really want to hear Thin Lizzy and their versatility check out emerald and bad reputation and massacre and dancing in the moonlight
Straighten you right out, young man. Check out Thin Lizzy's rendition of "Rosalie", a Bob Seger tune. Lizzy doesn't need your measure regarding redemption or anything else. One of the greatest Rock and Roll bands ever.
I've had the pleasure of seeing them twice. Once with Phil and sadly once without.😇 Heroin's a Bitch.🤬 BEST twin guitar work. I still have the "Live and Dangerous" album.
Good reaction, and yes cowboysong is a good song. You looks like you are neding som good drums, thats why i`ll ask you to react to The Who - Sparks, from the Tommy album, dont know if you have heard it before, but thats some dam good drumming
nice drumming young man. maybe you should check out the black page see if you can play that. now Thin Lizzy. should have played the live version. they sound better live. and if you have seen live you know they are better live.
Nope this is not the real version, which is from Live and Dangeous, blows this out of the water, i grew up on the live version, this song is meant for live shows.
I was fortunate to see the original Thin lizzy band in I believe 1977 they warmed up Queen. What a show. Those were the days for sure.
That is right great song great band
2 of the best 5 guitar solos of all time in the same song! Great song, never gets old.
How this tune wasn’t a smash hit (In the States anyway) is beyond me…
A man of wisdom.
I was hoping someone someday would react to this song . It's a hidden gem !!
Pound for pound one of the BEST R&R bands WITH the BEST FRONT MAN!!!! RIP PHIL. Cead Mile Failte.
COWBOY SONG, is likely my favorite song by thin Lizzy, the changes are great the bridge, the guitars in harmony and dueling are great.
as has surely been said... Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous shows them on fire at their peak. the songs just come alive. the 70s are known for the double live album and theirs is as good as any of them.
ABSOLUTELY! 'THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN', START OF SUMMER CLASSIC! IRISH AS ALL SHIT! RIP PHIL!

T&L was not a trad Lizzy Lp.. fans were not happy
nah nah the best albums are nightlife, fighting, black rose, jonny the fox, and vagabonds of the western world

Just such an awesome catchy song. Yes!! Great strident vocals, outstanding guitar solos, solid drumming & soulful basslinrs...love this.

Yes, you will see the divserity of the band with this

Absolutely my favorite thin lizzy song…period
Hardest rocking cowboy song ever!
Emerald, Black Rose, Bad Reputation, and Romeo and the Lonely Girl. All time great rockers
Thanks for going back to the well… there’s still more there. Johnny The Fox Meets Jimmy The Weed is a pocket groove rocker and one of my faves from TL
Hey Chod!!! Good for you, man. Not giving up after a disappointment and giving them another Chance. That's awesome.
what was he disappointed with?
@@mike04574 didn't you watch the video?
@@jomojojo6603 he said he liked the song, he was disappointed with jailbreak
@@mike04574 sigh...exactly. he was disappointed by the last song, but he didn't give up on the band and came back with THIS video. understand?
I absolutely love that song.
Lovely double lead guitars!!
The late great Phil Lynott. Just finished watching his documentary Songs For While I'm Away. The greatest Irish rocker. Where do we begin. The Rocker, Rosalie, Emerald, Southbound, Dancing in the moonlight, She Knows.
Awesome! Love that first guitar solo!
I discovered this song when I bought (must be their greatest hits album) and always really liked it.
My favorite THIN LIZZY song, thanks you're the only RUclipsr that's given it a shot and review.
Great Band

Try the thin Lizzy epic black rose or some cool drumming in bad reputation or china town
Word is bond.
Angel of the coast. Warriors and emerald they are the three best songs on this album
Love this one!
Great Album
Best Lizzy period with Scott Gorham & Brian Robertson from 74 to 78. First solo Gorham second Robertson 😍😍😍
oh those crazy Irish ;)
Great band !
Thanks man. 70's band man.
remember them , April Wine , Ted Nugent man them vs DiScO !!!!
I don't know who put the video together but I loved it.
The Hero and the Madman by Thin Lizzy. You may never have heard anything like it before. You may never want to hear anything like it ever again, but I like it a lot. It has a great guitar solo at the end.
Fist time listening to this good tune.Glad you reacted to it!
Everything Thin Lizzy !!! Phil a master poet, gone Too soon brother.
Yes, I like Phil's voice, this song is much better, and the guitarist, too.

I believe Thin Lizzy was the first band to have harmonizing lead guitars. Usually they play the same lead an octave apart.
Close, but I think the honor goes to Alice Coope with Michael Bruce and Glenn Buxton several years earlier. Lizzy was one of the best though. Robbo and Scott Gorham are hard to beat. And you have to love a band that has a lead singer that's a black irish bass player.

This is Thin Lizzy's best track, IMO. Great stuff!
I Love this song
Its a crime that this band didn't make it big in America. You just touched the surface. They did it all. Metal, blues, funk. Do Johnny the Fox.
Very recent documentary 'Phil Lynott: Songs for While I'm Away' is a must see for Thin Lizzy fans.
