‘Joy Division’ transformed into ‘New Order’ after the death of their singer Ian Curtis. Joy Division’s most famous song is ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’. New Order’s most famous song is ‘Blue Monday’.
Really hope you jump into more Joy Division in near future,. i have always enjoyed Love will Tear us Apart, but as i got older rest of their catalog really got me and there are so many great tunes. I appreciate you speaking about depression there at the end , as i have got older it is also something i struggle with more and more.
Good choice. My fav joy division song. Ceremony, temptation and perfect kiss and regret my fav new order songs. One of my favourite concert memories is seeing new order in 2005. They the joy that the band and the crowd had in playing the joy division songs in memory of Curtis was amazing.
The music of my early twenties. #RIP Curtis.😢 And slightly before this in the 70s you've got Iggy Pop who transformed so much. Based on your reactions, I'm 100% positive you would dig some of his stuff. It's just so easy to relate to but he's got his own sound and there is always something to discuss about the lyrics as well and it's just in a class of its own, it's so hard to describe, it's got elements of lots of things including Punk but there's an awful lot of rock there as well. Lust For Life The Passenger Neighborhood Threat
I wish i could hear this song for the first time again. Also Heroin by Velvet Underground. Both songs I remember where I was when I first heard them. God bless those Tijuana radio stations that sometimes we could catch in San Diego.
The closing seconds of ‘Control’ (the film of the pife of Ian Curtis) when the opening bars of this song soundtrack the crematorium smoke rising, f**k that got me
Ho conosciuto i Joy Division con "something must break" quando è uscito e da allora l'amore continua... Non posso non pensare a cosa avrebbe potuto produrre Jan se fosse rimasto tra noi...😢😢😢
“Joy Division” is a sick term that the Nazis used for kept Prostitutes, for their officers and troops, even off site from the death camps. Back in early Rock there would be The Cadillacs, the Crickets. More interesting names used to be unique. The Cure were contemporary in British music. This video was made by Dutch Phoyogrspher, and film Director Anton Corbin. He photo’d JD in black&white. Later he became a main photographer for U2.
Didn't get this band as a young punk rocker in the late 70's, went back to them and realised they were way before their time, she's lost control, transmission are great but Shadowplay is my favourite, Ian Curtis the lead singer suffered from epilepsy, not a great thing ever but especially as the lead singer in a band and he had bouts of it during gigs, i'm glad you got the gist on first listen Shawn, i look forward to more
Excellent comments on depression 🙏🕉️ I'm trying to incorporate a sense of safety and truth and mental progress on my YT channel. I post covers but hoping to get into peaceful punditry ✌️💪🕊️⚖️📣

Also included 'Ceremony'.

This is a top 5 band for me. Dark and passionate music that draws you in. Don't listen to this group if you're contemplating self harm

Trippy to think Ian Curtis would be knocking on 70 now.
Thank you, man.

And Depeche Mode!
People say Manchester was grim in the late 70s, I loved it, lots of punk and proto goth girls if you knew their haunts. Fantastic😂
Listen to perfume by the PARIS ANGELS, wow!

Agree, Shadowplay, She's Lost Control and Transmission their greatest songs. Atmosphere not far behind tho'.

You just heard genius
Umm didn't you say you were gonna go trough the lyrics? I'm kinda confused right now.
