The live version of Still in Love with You is not just the greatest Thin Lizzy song but one of the best rock songs ever. You have to add it to your list.
"Still in love with you" live video, 1975 I think. You get to see the band and a pretty good song to boot. Actually, if you ever get to it, do the studio version first. Just listened to the studio version again, and forgot how good it is. From the album Nightlife, (1974).
Finally!! I have been asking for this one for a LONG time. My absolute favorite Thin Lizzy song. Awesome drums and of course the two leads are amazing!!
I only "discovered" Thin Lizzy a couple of years ago from 2005's tribute concert for Phil, headed by Garry Moore. This is a band that you need to watch live. (The entire tribute concert is also a "must-see".) They are a top-tier, lost in the sauce band with one of the most charismatic front-men ever.
Awesome Thin Lizzy song for sure. I would also offer Emerald from their Live and Dangerous album. One of the best and most organic guitar duels if all time.
Yes. Emerald is short but one of best rockers ever. Saw it live at Glasgow Apollo on farewell tour, joined by Brian Robertson, which tore the roof off.
Always been my favorite song by them. I would have given it an S tier though. Can't remember how many times I've cranked this up at a party to put everyone in a good mood. I'm 68 so it's been a lot of times. Rock on.
This is the kind of song that won't let you alone. I'm betting right now, you listened to it a couple more times after you recorded this. Best Thin Lizzy song ever.
Glad you got to this classic. Try "Dancing in the moonlight", "Parisienne walkways" or "Sarah" from TL. All have different feels than what you've heard so far from them but are also great songs and performances.
I would also recommend the live version from one of the most dynamic live albums ever, Live And Dangerous. In fact side 3 is an a absolute masterclass in intensity and pacing. Starts with Cowboy Song, straight into The Boys Are Back In Town, Don't Believe A Word, Warriors and Are You Ready. The dual guitar attack of Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham really comes to the fore, Wishbone Ash had a similar dual guitar style. Was fortunate to see them live 3 times although not with Robbo unfortunately. Still one of the best live bands I ever saw. Another live album that never gets the kudos it deserves is Viva Roxy Music. Released in 1976 it bucked the trend at the time having only 8 tracks when the norm was double or triple albums. The last 3 songs (side 2), If There Is Something, In Every Dream Home and Do The Strand are breathttaking, the first two surpassing the studio versions in my opinion.
Goodness guys, it has been ages since I listen to this tune. Thank you for reminding me just how good a tune it is, and one I should listen to more often.

One of my favorites. The guitar solos are jaw dropping awesome. The entire album is one of those perfect albums. The last song, Warriors, is a must. The version on Live and Dangerous is probably the one you want to listen to, but the album version is excellent as well..
A great Irish band singing a cowboy song seasoned by their American lead guitar player Scott Gorham. The world misses Phil Lynott more than it realizes and his hands were calloused by bar fights. The man was a fighter… and a rocker. Hit Johnny the Fox Meets Jimmy the Weed next. You will be glad you did!

I think it's one of the quintessential rock songs. Easily their best. S tier. And most songs about masturbation are great. Rosie by Jackson Browne is the greatest. I seriously can't believe people don't know what this song is about. He's lonesome on the trail. He's thinking about a certain female. He's riding in the rodeo. Then he's thinking about all those southern girls. I’ve been a Lizzy Supporter from the mid 70’s until the end in 83 , they could rock and write anything, hard heavy to the ballads, but this song is Phil’s homage to Americana and a lot of American bands saluted Lizzy in their own ways , look up who they have influenced in the world of Rock and who have covered their songs. 🤜🏼🤛🏾
When I was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego, my friends and I took a bus trip to San Bernardino. We had concert tickets for Journey and Thin Lizzy opened!! They played this song!! ❤❤

This would be in my top 50 songs of all time, just a great classic rock song. Glad y'all gave it a listen!
Mine too! About 6 years ago my old high school buddies started getting together every other year. We’re all 59 or 60 years old now. At our first gathering, one of the guys put together a party tape and he specifically put this song on it for my benefit!
@@Gordy63 That's awesome that they associate you with this song. I have a buddy that turned me on to this song that I think of when I hear it as well.
@troyv8302 - very cool! I’ve got it downloaded in iTunes - might have to crank it up on the way home from work tonight. Come to think of it, this is one of those songs that simply has to be played loud - specially for the second guitar solo - one of my favorites of all time 🤘
I think it's one of the quintessential rock songs.
Then a reference to down below the border and bustin broncs. 🤣
The we have
Roll me over and I'll turn around
And I'll move my fingers up and down
Up and down
Roll me over and set me free
A cowboys life is the life for me
Yeah Phil. Me too. 😂
One of my all-time favorite songs
I’ve been a Lizzy Supporter from the mid 70’s until the end in 83 , they could rock and write anything, hard heavy to the ballads, but this song is Phil’s homage to Americana and a lot of American bands saluted Lizzy in their own ways , look up who they have influenced in the world of Rock and who have covered their songs.
🤜🏼🤛🏾
Great song, Awesome band!! They have so many amazing songs
Love the Live and Dangerous album version. Guys, you have to hit that album. Best live album ever.
Suggested this a few times. Totally agree this my favorite Thin Lizzy tune. Loved watching your reaction, I knew you would dig it.
Saw them in 78 ! Thanks guys great song
When I was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego, my friends and I took a bus trip to San Bernardino. We had concert tickets for Journey and Thin Lizzy opened!! They played this song!! ❤❤
