      @AnotherKnittingPod they do! Honestly for like the tubular, no one is looking that close at my knits...if they are we have other problems!

  • @DQDebra

    I love your Nightshift. The Spincycle yarn is so perfect for it. I have this shawl kitted up, but something other than Spincycle. Maybe the marled yarn that Cascade makes.
    I laughed about your cast on cast off choices. I tried a tubular cast on once, said forget this and went to the German twisted cast on. I don’t mind an iCord bind off or cast on either.

    • @AnotherKnittingPod

      Hi Debra! The tubular is just so fussy! Not worth it in my mind. Only a knitter would notice it.

    Hi Lina. If you love this Nightshift so much Lavanya Patricella's Thistle Thorn Cowl. You've got leftover Spincycle and a nice random half skein of sport or DK - you will be over the moon. Just like I was for the Brioche and Bubble shawl when I suggested. This one is quick. My plan is to make another one in worsted and probably without joining as a cowl. Carry one loved one.

    Every mother has a VERY different type of a relationship with each child. Each child has a different personality and challenges, plus the mother is always at a different stage of her life and with a different pack of life experiences for each child's development stages.
    In your case, your son is not just the first born, but also of the opposite sex. In general, it is more difficult to be a really good mother to a daughter than to a son 🙂
    Frankly, being more emotionally grounded for your daughter's life events is not just an advantage for her and or the relationship between you two: you will probably never be so emotionally connected with her as you are with your son. This might change once she becomes a mother herself, because your future daughter-in-law will set emotional boundaries ;-)

      This is sooooo true. What is it about moms and their sons? Until I had one, I thought that was nonsense. So grateful to have one of each because its such a uniquely beautiful experience!

    Hi Leena! I love your Nightshift shawl! Did you double the number of stitches on the pattern in order to make it larger? I would love to make one that size! The pattern calls for six skeins for the background colors, did you add additional colors or did you double the the quantities that the pattern calls for? I’m trying to figure out how much yarn to order. Thanking you in advance!

    • @AnotherKnittingPod
      @AnotherKnittingPod  5 месяцев назад

      Hi Noemi! I swear I answered this in detail but I’m not seeing my response here. Apologies if you are getting a second answer from me ;)
      I used four full skeins for the background instead of the 3 that she recommended. If you use more than that, it might be ridiculously big. The foreground blips take a lot less yarn, so you can approximate less for that. I did not weigh how much I used unfortunately. Hope that is helpful!

      Hi Noemi! So this pattern starts with a tiny cast on and keeps expanding out, so you can literally keep going until you are happy with the size! Super easy.
      Her original uses 6 skeins of Spincycle total. I used 4 skeins for the background, which is why it is bigger. You use a lot more for the background than the foreground. I know this isn’t super helpful, but I just kept going til I was done with the 4 background skeins.
      Also, this pattern grows a ton with wet blocking. Until then it just felt like it wasn’t growing. I think mosaic knitting tends to be very contracted. Hope this helps!!
