  • Since the introduction of my RUclips page, a lot of you have asked about specific parts and pieces I used to get my supercharged small block Chevy Nova up and going onto the race track. I've covered the total cost of the car and how the car has transformed since my ownership but I haven't dug deeply into the details of what specfics parts and pieces I decided to use and why.
    In this video I dig deeper into my small block Chevy build and talk about what parts are used, why I chose those parts and how they are still performing. I hope you guys dig the info and I plan on doing similar videos about other parts of the car... transmission, suspension, chassis etc. in the future!
    This one is a must watch! A big thanks to the sponsors and companies that help make these videos happen.

    3470 cam lift would be more lift than a 21 yr old blond with a boon job. Lift on a sbc would prob be somewhere between .400 and .700”.

    Nice vid as always. You built a conservative build and it runs Damn Good! The beautiful thing about that little blower is that it will allow you to go bigger on the heads the cam the engine but not necessary on the engine and the carburetor. I think on that blower you have an option to change the carb flange for a dominator carb and it will use all that you put on it with ease. I'm very interested in the cog belt and cog pulleys you're running. Did you only run it on the cogs and what difference did it make? And how much boost is it making and is there anymore cog pulley options? Again Great Vid! Stay Safe .

      Thank you! I ordered it with the cog belt so I I haven’t ran it with any other type of belt. It’s set up to make about 6 1/2 pounds right now. In really good air it’ll make 7 on the big end of the track! And yes there are more options to pulley it differently… I would need some more fuel but I could spin the blower to make about 12psi.

      @@PLANBRACING With that cog I think it should maybe go higher because it's a cog and not a surpetine. You probably know this but the easier/bigger opening/carb the air can enter the top of the blower the more boost it will make. Either way You're getting A LOT Out Of A Mild Build.

    Are you running the new High Helix Rotors for the 192?

    • @PLANBRACING
      @PLANBRACING  9 месяцев назад +2

      I’m not, I would love to try them though! I’ve had my 192 for a few years before they started that.

      @PLANBRACING yeah, I just ripped mine off the truck last night to send it in for servicing. I really want to know what I would gain from the high helix rotors. They don't have enough data to share right now it sounds like.

    GREAT CONTENT! 2 questions:
    Do you drive it on the street? And would you eventually add a 671 or 871?
    (I’m building a pro street now, 1st time build of a power add set up, your videos have helped, thanks)

    • @PLANBRACING
      @PLANBRACING  Год назад

      I don’t drive it on the street just because of the car it’s in. But the setup could totally be driven on the street. Even hot lapping it at the track in the summer it doesn’t overheat which is awesome! I wouldn’t be opposed to a 671 or 871 but I didn’t want to have to cut the hood or anything with this car so the low profile worked out awesome. The Blower Shop’s 192 and 250 low profile series blowers are used on a bunch of drag cars, especially dragsters in the bracket racing world. They make some good power… especially the big blocks on alcohol with a 192 or 250 bolted on top!

    This is a sick build dude! I just picked up a 1950 gmc farm truck and am looking to do a rat rod build with a 383. Out of curiosity how much power does it make before and after boost?

    • @PLANBRACING
      @PLANBRACING  10 месяцев назад

      Appreciate it! That sounds awesome! I’ve never had it on a dyno but with the set up I have The Blower Shop estimates about 45hp per pound of boost and I’m running about 6-7 psi. I would guess my engine made about 325hp NA and around 550-600 on boost. Went from running low 12’s to 10.90’s with the super charger!

    Nice Nova, i was curious about how much boost you are making. I have a G body with a similar setup. Same 383 (ratio 8.2to1) same cam, same 192 TBS. Biggest difference is using AFR heads. Running 93 pump gas and using water meth at 3 psi and about.
