- I’ve always heard stories of people swapping a BIG DOMINATOR in place of a perfectly good running 4150 and going FASTER!
But is that really the case? Can a well sorted out 4150 Carburetor Combination COMPETE with a 4500 series DOMINATOR on the Dyno?
You might be surprised at what we found and how we found it.
Bob and I had to try every trick in the book to figure out for ourselves THE TRUTH about BIG SMALL BLOCKS & BIG CARBURETORS!

Bill, please do not discredit your skills. You and Uncle Bob are a pair of engine tuners second to none.I know I’m late but HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you and Ms Vicki. And most importantly my condolences to your family on the loss of your Brother, I lost my youngest sister to Leukemia 5 years ago and I miss her every day. I have a voicemail from her wishing me Happy Birthday 5 years ago before she passed away. I play it back every year on my Birthday just to hear her voice.

Bill you and I are close to the same age. I graduated in 1988. Just a couple years before you but I relate to you and things you do. I’m so sorry that you have gone through this tough year. I’m crying right now as I’m trying to make this comment. I lost my brother in 2018 at 52 years old. He was born in November of 65 and I was born in November of 70. He was was five years older than me and I have had a hard time getting through it. I’m so sorry for your loss. I love your channel and it’s so easy for me to relate to you because I bracket raced in the 90’s and I watch you give it over to your kids. Keep moving forward brother and remember God loves you!

Im late, the wife had me busy puttin the air conditioners back in the windows and sealing them up. Its gettin warm in Kentucky during the days. Only gonna get warmer so might as well get a headstart on it.

Don’t ignore those unsealed threads in the valve train on that big block. I’ve made that mistake before. It was costly.
The negative pressure that intake tract under when that engine is decelerating with the throttle closed will do things we can not imagine.
You definitely get different results with the 4 hole spacer and open setup. That’s definitely changing the way the air atomizing the fuel as well as the velocity of the air.
And condolences on losing your brother,never easy at any age for sure.You have a great subscriber base with family values,could read thousands of comments and get the same responce,your family is our family.

Eric weingartner is who I got my AFR 227 heads on my 427ci SBC procharged pump gas CSU 850cfm carburetor 1,000 Horsepower engine in my country boys corvette. 4l80 transmission with Trans brake from Jake's performance all in 92 S10 Also have a 94 ss s10 with a 383 pump gas Hydraulic roller cam and Lifters.
Really like the Dyno stuff.

Check that head on Billys motor, i had everything tore apart and found they went to for with porting and a hole formed in oil gallery of head, alot of time wasted figuring out
I have had alot of problems with Fel-pro gaskets, mine is a sbc 200cc port dart heads and matching dart intake.
it will suck the gaskets in to the ports, oil and a major vacuum leak.
I switched to the fel-pro gaskets with the STEEL reinforced inside in the gaskets type.
that has fixed the problem......
To me,, it seems that what ever is in the fuel now daze dissolves the gaskets.....

5:34 why I always "sneak up" during the initial dyno pulls. Half that run the numbers were heading south, and it wasn't the front half.

I am really struggling too right now. Life is a challenge sometimes.
From my experience dealing with big rig diesels. Just bypassing the pass side turbo wouldn't clear the smoke. As the exhaust will have oil all in it. And cause it to smoke something awful for a good bit to burn it out.
