Great review. Just found Serica again and am really impressed with the vintage look and direction they are headed with higher grade movements. The diver is on my wish list.
The 5303 turned out to be one of my favorite purchases of the year (actually my last), and is currently my most worn watch. The two tone GMT bezel with dial 12 hours scale is a nice touch for the GMT.
I know this is juvenile but I cannot un see it. The indices at the 12 with 2 balls and a rectangle look like a twig and two berry’s 😂 once you see it you can’t unsee its other than that I really like the dive watch. Has some unimatic industrial design to it. Great review.
Great video again Tom. I wear a Serica 5303 diver crystal blue with metal strap since a couple of month's and won't change it for anything anymore. I really adore it.
@@BowlOfSalmoninto the same price range, Soprod Newton caliber but not COSC certified, built like a tank. To me as great as Serica but with a different philosophy, give one a try you won't be disapointed IMO
I really like the Serica 8303 & 8315. I always liked the 8303 when it was first released. It's the only watch in my collection that has stayed the longest since late 2021. I like it that much, despite the first versions with the Soprod Newton movement had a (post production) crown "feature".. eh, hem.. issue. I found a way to work with the quirky crown and it has never been a real issue with me. The movement is pretty darn accurate, too, even though it is not COSC, but the Top Flight version of the Soprod Newton movement is rated to +/-4 s/d, which is actually better than COSC. It's good Serica finally decided to change the movement in the 5303 to an older, but less quirky, Soprod M100 COSC. I also owned the 8315 GMT. I had it made in destro configuration. It looks cool and different enough to the 8303 to justify adding it to my collection. However, as a note, I don't believe one should do it in the destro config, imho.. not if you wear your watches on the traditional left hand. It's a big crown and the way the crown protrudes and sits off the side of the case, it actually will dig into my wrist. And, if you think about it, destro config on any watch if you wear on left arm is not the smartest thing. Most people's arms will get wider and create an incline as you move away from the wrist. That's just how the muscle and flesh on the arm physically is shaped. So, it only makes sense a left sided crown will be likely to dig into your arm more.. unless it was specifically designed to be in that position and takes into account for this. I don't believe the Serica 8315 is. Thus, unless u wear watch on right wrist, don't do the destro config.
Thx for the elaborate feedback. I’ve heard about the erm … feature on early models but it looks like the brand addressed all of this with the follow up versions
I want to love the GMT but I can’t understand why the hour markers weren’t connected to the minute track but are instead floating so close to the middle of the dial. The Rolex root beer nipple dial shows it can be done but the right way to do it.
@@BowlOfSalmon it's not just me. The first version was literally broken and Serica brushed it off as a "feature" instead of taking responsibility. I think you already know this story. Every other serious watch reviewer does.
The new field watch models are brilliant with the applied indices and I love the blue dial diver and how the lume has a 3D effect.
Haven’t seen them irl yet . Curious
Oh wow the new field watches really are stunning. I also love the white diver. Brown GMT is amazing too…

Good choice! Great piece. I want one too 🫣
Absolutely stunning designs and definitely on my wishlist. Great video Tom!
Thank for tuning in 🙏

I can see why. Great to hear the honeymoon is long with this one

Yeah. I kinda want one 🫣
Simply beautiful, I like the GMT one more. Specially that lollipop GMT hand.
I don’t dislike it but wouldn’t mind seeing a lolli-pop-of-color ;)
Serica and Ollech and Wajs are my two favorite when it comes to independant sports/tool watches
Never experienced O&W but yeah. Cool designs there too

Love these. I keep coming back to them. It may just be a matter of time!
I’m not trying to influence anyone but ill happily push you over the edge ;)

I really like the integrated endlink on the mesh bracelet. Oh and I'd pick the white dial!
i'd probbaly have this on a nato knowing me :) lol . .love that sport rubber strap tho
Pretty watches. Well done to the team.
A brand that’s not really on my radar so I really appreciated the stunning video Tom! 👍🏻
Thx. Appreciate you take the time to watch the ones you don’t know much about either. 🤛🤛. Btw. f1 was 👌
I want the White 5303... Was a bit hesitant and wanted to see a review of the new COSC. Version before jumping in. Thanks Tom
Check out morgansaignes his shots on IG if you want to see more white dial shots 😉
This looks great 👍🏼

love the retro looks
Cool vid Tom. Not really my style but I love the insights.
Fair enough Trish but I appreciate your time here always ! :)
I…don’t…need…another….watch, but great vid
😅🤛
I really like this design take.
Any other brands that catch your eye ? Looking for inspiration.

Wearing my 5303 while watching a video on the 5303. Peak Serica.
Best compliment 🙏
Is it 39 or 40mm? Keep finding mixed information.
@@rtruite It's 39mm and wears quite small, more like a 38mm in my experience

Beautiful watch... Would buy for $500
thx for watching

Twisted lugs are good on this one

It took me a while before to realise what exactly it was that makes them
look so different and I do like the that connected look too
Why is the GMT bezel not even? GS does the samething - is there a real world reason behind it besides just doing it for the heck of it?
It’s a stylistic choice where they suggest the day is longer than the Night
Hideous customer service
Sorry to hear that. Hope it’s solved now
