Now that's a rifle with a few things going for it, ( for me at least ), it is a C Z , it's compact, it's magazine fed, and it fires my favorite centerfire cartridge in 7.62x39. Now to get an 'on the shelf' delivery date, and price. Thanks for this Adriel.
few questions, as I am looking for a good semi-automatic non-restricted rifle. but don't want to spend more than 1 grande. cz 858s caught my attention but their prices are rising. how much would this rifle go for and could I find one in southern Ontario?
+maxreuv 4 allen head bolts on top. If it did impact zeroing, I didn't notice it between range sessions. I did shoot for groups on my last range trip and didn't notice any difference.
@The Hunting Guy Gear Thanks for showing off this beautiful Canadian evolution to the Sa. Vz.58 design. The flat top rail and furniture alone is something to cause a bit of drool. I know you did this review from the perspective of a hunting rifle and presented it so even someone uninitiated with the Samopal design could appreciate it, however for those thousands of folks who know and love the vz.58 variants, could you do another post showing the FCG (fire control group). I am especially interested in the modified receiver design and how the trigger, dis-connector and sear have been centered. I assume the carrier and bolt are the same, but I could be wrong. One other major focal point of interest is if and how CZ modified the ejector to reliably change the ejection path to exit to the right and not ricochet case back into the action. Thank you.
so a Vz58 with wood furniture and botched takedown sacrificed for rail on top cover + deflector over the ejection port ... yeah you can do pretty much same with any Vz58 variant, no wonder it got canned
I know you *could* use 7.62x39 for hunting but it wouldn't be my first choice, or second.. I'm thinking this is more of a "hiding rifle" than a "hunting rifle". Hiding from the RCMP who don't like evil looking black rifles.
+Fone Star It's about the same power at 100 yards as a 30-30, so as long as it is kept within sane distances, it's fine for deer. It'd be perfect for hogs.
I've takin a moose with it, one shot one kill. I've also takin my fare share of deer and coyote with it, also one shot one kill using the Barnaul SP 7.63x39 out of a SKS. I personally think its a great cartridge...IF, you know what your doing, just saying, but also everyone to their own.
Hunter rifle with semi auto mod and 7.62x39 caliber? WTF is that? But it looks like nice modernisation of original VZ 58. Why is that magazine so small?
what kind of comy bs is this CZ has no intent on doing a wide scale production tell me it ant so ,please tell me I have read this wrong , I am a big CZ fan owning several CZ already this would just be the icing on the cake .
it's beutiful ,its funny how every body showing guns always mention thecgun is clear or no ammo inside ,like people on RUclips may get hurt ,i know its safety but it just funny ,im going to make a vide and wont mention any clearing or no ammo in the mags.

Nice that the bolt locks back on an empty mag. Good review. Thanks.
I wasn't aware it was so small. This pushes me further towards it for a new semi auto. It's prettier than the 858 IMO also.
Have a same idea, after this vid...
can't believe it's been cancelled by CZ. such betrayal, wow
cz really got their hands full... I was wondering why I didn't see any review of this gun

How easy/hard is it to remove the dust cover? Will the rifle have to be re-zeroed after?

+Vzor FiftyEight Sorry, I had to send it back to Wolverine Supplies :(

hope they make a 223 version
Sexy gun. I wants it in Canada right now :(.
Such a pretty rifle wish we had that in America
I love cz and I own a few but I don't know anyone that would hunt with that.
Was there any issues with reliability with the smaller ejection port?
+John Doe it seals off 2/3 of the ejection port which probably increases reliability if anything else.........../watch?v=f3kComQz40o

Doug Anderson you're comment does mean a thing either.
Fone Star: What a dumbass comment.
I like it. I had an 858 sold it recently. I may have to replace it with one of these
Nevermind........i just went looking. Didn't know it got kybosched

aha, you are from Canada :-D
Yeah, our mag capacity laws suck
It looks like when you have Ford Mustang with 1.3l motor :-D
whether in a Remington 223?
to bad this is likely years away :(
Why not just buy an Sks?
This rifle is none-restricted ?
Yeah
The Hunting Gear Guy This rifle has full auto ?
Looks rad.
I want one. I hope they produce it next year.
This rifle is a miss by CZ in my opinion, but good video nonetheless.

And now it becomes prohibited...
Was the 958 prohibited too? I know the 858 was.
@@ThatManitobaGuy All VZ-58 variants are banned in Canada.
