Vz.58 collectors in the US cant have this firearm and several of us are drooling over the design and looks. (Turnabout is fair play I guess, since US legal guns don't make it north of the border either) I posted this comment on the Hunter Guys review of this beautiful gun: @The Hunting Guy Gear Thanks for showing off this beautiful Canadian evolution to the Sa. Vz.58 design. The flat top rail and furniture alone is something to cause a bit of drool. I know you did this review from the perspective of a hunting rifle and presented it so even someone uninitiated with the Samopal design could appreciate it, however for those thousands of folks who know and love the vz.58 variants, could you do another post showing the FCG (fire control group). I am especially interested in the modified receiver design and how the trigger, dis-connector and sear have been centered. I assume the carrier and bolt are the same, but I could be wrong. One other major focal point of interest is if and how CZ modified the ejector to reliably change the ejection path to exit to the right and not ricochet case back into the action. Thank you. Can someone show us a vz.58 comparison and do a field strip and full take down of the FCG? Please. Thank you.
needing a tool is no different than the Garand or M1a/M14 rifles to be able to clean the pistons. I haven't been taking the top cover off this one to clean it, just hosing out the inside with cleaner, using a brush and re-oiling, no need to take down every time. The chrome lined barrel adds to the cost, and unless a firearm is being used full auto is certainly doesn't do much for the rifle other than take away from the accuracy. You still have to clean the piston etc after using corrosive ammo so why no swab the bore out at the same time.
As suggested, we've just added a PART 2 to this video, showing the ejection port and a couple close ups. Check it out! CZ 958 - Show and Tell on the Range | PART 2
Why does the hunter not have open sights as well as the slide cover rails? Can open sights be installed on this.Don't trust folding stocks to stay tight for long. Also real wood or synthetic stock instead of the glue and wood chip "beaver puke" on them. The gun is 1/2 right at least. Also show some actual targets not just making noise at a berm with a steel plate.
The hunter was built purposely with no sights. If you wish to have iron sights get the tactical model and put a fixed stock on it. I can say that the folding stocks for the CZ858 and 958 stay tight.
Will you be having a pre-sale for the first few orders, as I'm sure they will sell fast. and is it only available with that stock? I would like to be on the first pre-order list, if there is one.
+Trevor Sabatine We won't be taking preorders until we know when the rifles will be heading into Canada. Email sales@wolverinesupplies.com for info on stocks etc.
+patruick marco Please check out our forum on the Canadian Gunnutz site for full details. The 958 has been put on hold indefinitely due to CZ not being able to produce.
I will need two of each:-)
Cant wait to see / Buy one or two!!
Alright, Please for the love of lucky lager and cold winters don't go buying 2 or 3 when they first drop. We all want one and we should all get one.
Need to see how it ejects :D
same as the old 858, except more straight to the side.
I have a felling I'm going to really enjoy that rifle and i can put a scope where I want on it now!

It's pretty sad to not have the chrome lined barrel option.
non chrome lined and needing a tool to dissemble is a HUGE let down. however i am still thankful for this being on the market

Any idea on how much this rifle would cost when it does go up for sale?
Still working on that part but we are hoping to keep it in the under $1000 range.
what would be even better would be if were available in .308
they should get rid of the fake wood and put some polymer furniture on it.
958 has been approved for sale in Canada! We will have pricing and ETA available real soon!
nice !! waiting for it !
how much are they gonna be priced at roughly? and will they be available in S. Ontario?

Is there a rough estimate of when we can start seeing these rifles on the market?
Substance D I wish I could give you a date! As soon as we get the okay from the RCMP we can get them out for sale to the public!!
I really hope its sometime soon. It looks like a great rifle.
Anyone have any more news as to when these will be coming to Canada?
