Hey man, I love your reviews. Not a lot of people are doing reviews on less lethal options. I liked your byrna handgun video and this one was good too. It's giving me a lot to think about. It isn't my or anyone's place to be judge jury and executioner you know so the fact these less lethal weapons exist and are so effective is great. Thanks man, I think I'm gonna get the byrna, the revolver from your other video and this thing.
Hey Scott look into getting the company who makes the 700 Nitro rounds to see if they can make you tipped bullets. As in blue tipped and APIT rounds. That'd make an awesome video!! Also I love the family friendly content you make 10/10!!
Rifles in calibers over .50 are considered NFA, with a few exceptions like the .600 and .700 NE which are subject to a special sporting exemption. AP/APIT rounds would make it a non-sporting weapon and thus no longer subject to the exemption. You'd have to register it as a destructive device. Edit to add: and the mere existence of rounds in those calibers would force *everyone* who owns a rifle in those calibers to register them, not just the one person who owns those bullets.
@ebenserfontein8145 Nelson Paint still makes .68 paintballs as well, in different scents used for hunting. You fire a few from your stand/blind as an attractant, such as apple or Doe, or you can get some that can be used as deterrents, such as Coyote Urine. (Which is what I'd use for less lethal.)
The ballistic zombie was holding onto those rounds 5:06 the stickiness almost wrapped itself and popped out, all cool rounds. Keep up the awesome work Scott. Stay safe and healthy everyone.
Out of all the Byrna products this one is my favorite due to the fact that it allows you to quickly reload a CO2 cartridge. The other Byrna SD and Mission 4 does not allow for that quick of a reload. Once the cartridge is done, then you better run (if the threat is still there). However, with the TCR, it allows you to continue the fight, IF you have more CO2 cartridges. Too bad I purchased the other two first. But my reliance in a fight is based on the effectiveness of the Byrna MAX projectile that disables the aggressor with powdered tear gas (OC) and pepper spray. If aggression does not cease, I go to CQC.
I mean, I would imagine the chance of being in a prolonged engagement to the point where you would need to replace the CO2 is so astronomically low that while it's a nice feature it's unnecessary for an actual scenario. Most shootouts/self defense/home defense situations start and end in a matter of seconds. Looks fun to pop the cartridge out though ngl
@@thomasmacdonough288 agreed, but I also have given thought to multiple assailants. Growing up in the streets, I’ve seen people get robbed by many and not just one. I think the main goal here is; preparation is key - To be ready in any scenario. Often times, you only get one shot at survival.
Would not suggest using those as less lethal options. It is not heavily reported, but quite a few deaths happen each year with pellet rifles. Properly tuning an LL launcher takes a little bit of finesse. Most of them dont work as well as they could out of the box without a little love. Just remember its not for everyone. There is a time and a place.
I know I'm two weeks late to the party and you'll probably never read this, but if you are interested in trying out some great less lethals, Umarex has a whole lineup called T4E (you already tried out their revolver). The most interesting of which are their full auto HK 416 and M4 training rifles, 40J self-defense pump shotgun (uses 88g CO2 so much lower cooldown effect and more full power shots), and a cool little 16J double barrel sawed off that, with a bit of help from the internet, can easily be modified to fire with much more force (same goes for the revolver you already tried).

Less lethal not non lethal. I wouldn’t use this in the same situation as an OC spray when you’re not threatened with lethal force yourself. And in that case you want a gun too. Also have you seen the price of pepper balls? Way more than 9 mil or even 556
@@BrowncoatGofAZ yes. We’ve been making 9mm in particular for over 100 years. Not only are they good at it, but the civilian market is an afterthought compared to what the big manufacturers do with military contracts. Not to mention that everything from the OC mix inside to the balls themselves is proprietary. But the real expense is when you catch an assault charge because you thought the self defense standard was lower so you could wing off a few spicy bois at a vague outline 30 yards away at night. Or when you get caught bringing a co2 powered glorified plastic paintball gun to an actual gunfight.
What’s cool about these is the Tippman paintball marker parts are interchangeable like the co2 bits so you can run big tanks on a hose , and barrels , longer barrels to be exact for increased velocity and accuracy
What would really be cool is if they made a under slung rail option for AKs and ARs so you have the option for less lethal but can fallow up with your standard fire arm if need be

The biggest thing I always tell people when it comes to less lethal is when a moment arises and you pulled that trigger you will be wishing you had a real firearm typically less-lethal can end up being more lawsuit and I know some people are going to say that if they live in an area where they can't have of real firearm that just means that a greater chance of that person suing the crap out of you or you go to jail for assault with a deadly weapon
That Byrna is nice, but my Umarex HRD 50 revolver puts nylon balls clean through drywall and steel cans, and with steel balls it punches through coconuts !
Scott, I've got the Byrna SD pistol, and let me tell ya, the kinetic rounds freaking hurt. They leave a wound wayyyy worse than paintballs leave. The bruises are immediate. They go through clothing and can definitely break the skin. If you use the CS balls or the pepper balls, they will incapacitate for anywhere from half an hour to up to 3 hours. This thing ain't no toy. In close quarters. This thing can debilitate, although you would want a little distance if you use CS or pepper. The LE model has twice the power and can definitely enter the body cavity and can break bones. Especially if you use the aluminum 68 cal rounds. LTL will really screw up someone's day and could put them in the hospital.

If everyone would Actually practice MUZZLE AWARENESS, we wouldn't have as many AD Deaths for sure!
Umarex is good stuff. They have a lot of blowback air pistols.that are as accurate as possible to their real counterparts. Great to learn the weight and feel if a gun for newbies.
Tbh its just gloryfied paintball markers
Really want to see the effect on glass, especially automotive glass. Also we need a review of the Byrna 12 gauge rounds when they come out!
There's a video with someone shooting the side windows. I don't think there'd be enough force for the front or rear windshield though.
When Scott sees the round lodged in the zombie face, had me laughing real hard 🤣 "OH! It's stuck in his face!"
Props for being the only gun RUclipsr with a nice knife(I have the Hellhound version in pocket rn). It's hilarious seeing ppl like Demo and Edwin using garbage knives constantly when they have $100k+ into guns;)
THANK YOU MY BROTHA FOR POINTING IT OUT, I always notice but I never say none. Preach my guy😂😂

@@squidwardo7074 I have $6 knives that I have been using for close to 20 years and they work fine. Yes, they get dull but for my purpose, and budget, I couldn’t see owning an expensive one. Maybe if I was wealthy and 20 years younger it would be worth it.

A razor blade melted into the end of a sawed off toothbrush will do what you need it to. If you are just opening boxes do you need more than a box cutter? I open them with a Boker Strike, but that's just 'cause the sound gives me joy😂
Hearing even the camera operator laugh at the LTL round dribble out was hilarious!
Your creativity in your skits never ceases Scott. It's a staple of your videos. Great stuff
Huston jones is never there when he is needed the most
As a kid, we had toy pinwheels that came with colorful candy "BB's" in the tube of a handle. They fit perfectly into a BB gun.
I can say from experience, they were quite painful, and had to be removed surgically at times.
+10 damage against diabetics. Or +10 health I guess it kinda depends.
I have the Tippman (sp?) mag fed pistol and got glass filled nylon balls from eBay. Thought they might do a little damage until I shot it at my gong and half of it came back at me almost as fast as it left. Shot a pumpkin and it had no problems blowing holes in that. I played tournament paintball for years, been shot more times in places I didn't know had nerves. I would 0% want to get hit by these. 😂 Edit: the poultry suppository subscription notice was well executed.
Oh man that opening skit was a gem. 🤣
Rifle and rounds looked like a bunch of fun.
The TCR is a blast to use.
@@12799MaDeuce Oh okay. Thanks for letting me know!!

Wife and I really enjoy your videos, Scott. The intros are great, and the use of the zombie torso vs human makes it family friendly.
I would love to see what these Less Lethal rounds fired from a paintball gun and compare the results.
And conversely, some Paintballs from this gun.

"Yeah, but it's less-than-lethal."
"Oh? What kinda kinetics you use? What composites?"

You might not have Huston Jones in this video but I definitely want to see one in the future where you try it out on him
You had me with the chicken. Lmao. The candy corn I lost it. Great stuff as always scott
Your videos never disappoint keep it up💪
Out of all the Byrna products this one is my favorite due to the fact that it allows you to quickly reload a CO2 cartridge.
Be interested in seeing some tests on a ballistics dummy using different C02 .177 and .22 rifles for less lethal content. Great video Scott!
Or break action spring rifles.
Would not suggest using those as less lethal options. It is not heavily reported, but quite a few deaths happen each year with pellet rifles. There is a pretty comprehensive report floating around online detailing a couple incidents. One of the incidents even happened with a rifle of "neutered UK standards"
@@erict3728 maybe do a “how deadly” of a few different types of pellets. It would be interesting to see what happens when they are shot into gel
Your videos are very refreshing after all that is going on in the world today. Very funny and intertaining. Great way to help people feel better. Keep them going Scott
Properly tuning an LL launcher takes a little bit of finesse. Most of them dont work as well as they could out of the box without a little love. Just remember its not for everyone. There is a time and a place.
The intros just keep getting better and better and better😂
We always see Scott smack the ballistic dummy, but we haven’t seen him punch it’s face with everything he’s got. I think. Don’t let us down Scott.
Man I just came across your accident video, fucking crazy.
Glad to see you made a full recovery man God bless you and your family
Hey Scott! How is your day going? I hope it's doing well! I love your intros and I hope you do more videos on the 577 Tyrannosaur. That's my favorite gun besides the Barrett M82A1! You're Awesome, Scott! I love your channel!

I'd like to see these built for PCP pressures. That would be something that will work without a doubt and leave some serious welts and bruises
That's the only time they will intrest me
I'm not North American and in my country we don't have an army so the general interest of our people in guns is very low, but you are wholesome and slowly becoming one of my favorite RUclipsrs
Looks like a cool paintball gun, im sure it would aggravate a home intrude fairly well as long as it's not too cold for the co2 to run the thing properly.
I personally would not want to rely on one of these for anything.
It's a paintball gun just rebranded, it's a tippmann TCR with a valve the can go way up 400-500 FPS you can add a normal Paintball tank they are up to 2 liters 300 bar(the standard field ones are 0,8l 200 bar)
@@haraldbali788 as I figured it's just a paintball marker, and as such not something I'd want to stake my life on unless I couldn't have anything else.

That is based off of the Tippmann TCR witch is a mag fed paintball marker.

I think Scott could have a multiverse series with all the characters he has. #Kentuckyballisticsmultiverse
I do love the idea of having a few of these at home, mainly cause I'm the type who prefers non-leathal defense, and I'm also pretty sure metal ammo will keep going up in price
I live in an apartment, and am not thrilled with inviting my neighbors to an impromptu range day in my livingroom. These types of weapons are great for that, though I could also use rat shot or bird shot to the same effect. I'll have to do cost analysis and figure out which one would be better.
Less lethal not non lethal. I wouldn’t use this in the same situation as an OC spray when you’re not threatened with lethal force yourself. And in that case you want a gun too.
Also have you seen the price of pepper balls? Way more than 9 mil or even 556
@@Matt-xc6sp you’d think that the firearm ammunition would be more expensive. Economy of scale?
@@BrowncoatGofAZ yes. We’ve been making 9mm in particular for over 100 years. Not only are they good at it, but the civilian market is an afterthought compared to what the big manufacturers do with military contracts. Not to mention that everything from the OC mix inside to the balls themselves is proprietary.
But the real expense is when you catch an assault charge because you thought the self defense standard was lower so you could wing off a few spicy bois at a vague outline 30 yards away at night. Or when you get caught bringing a co2 powered glorified plastic paintball gun to an actual gunfight.
and tracked right back to your house. At least in California.
What’s cool about these is the Tippman paintball marker parts are interchangeable like the co2 bits so you can run big tanks on a hose , and barrels , longer barrels to be exact for increased velocity and accuracy
What would really be cool is if they made a under slung rail option for AKs and ARs so you have the option for less lethal but can fallow up with your standard fire arm if need be
Like a non-lethal masterkey? Sounds good
Hey Scott , this is the Butterworth family we all watch you every week every episode. My husband came up with the idea of you doing a special or segment movie movie stars and their guns. Our son had an idea of 50 cal and how many zombie torsos it would go through.
@Jason Butterworth Depending on how young your son is you might want to search here on youtube about overpenetration. I forget the channel but they had two of these about 3 feet apart and the results were interesting when it came to the 50. I'm keeping it vague on purpose but can probably find the channel if you would like it.

Breaking news: all double bubble gum baned from public use
The idea that the gun was able to make a gumball deadly is SO awesome.
I dunno about “deadly” but definitely painful. Basically a glorified paintball gun.
So these are for high school cops
Unless you live in the hood 😂

So, a paintball gun
It can be interesting to disperse crowds, but not for self-defense.
imagine actually shooting someone with gumballs, walking up to them, digging the gumballs out, and just start chewing. 😂😂😂
Aye that gun looks cool as hell regardless
Umarex makes a sawed-off shot gun looking thing for home defense. It looks like fun
