- This shotgun has some ridiculous speed due to a fairly innovative operating mechanism. All ammo used was full power buckshot and slugs. Today we take a dive on the Genesis Arms 12, a semi automatic magazine fed shotgun that actually works. We've previously reviewed a version of this gun but due to the change in operating system we felt it deserved a new video. The Gen 12 is made right here in Idaho and we're a fan. I love Semi Auto Mag Fed Shothuns❤️ I have multiple there great. Even the JTS i have that I bought just for sag worked surprisingly great. As long as its clean it runs everything
AR 308 lower & Genesis 12 upper...its completely an AR designed rifle, magazine fed...American veteran made in Idaho. SWEET! Mine is on its way.
I live minutes from where these shotguns are made in Idaho. I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of the co owners at the local range. They were test firing a couple shotguns mainly doing R&D on some new magazine designs. I was lucky enough to get to shoot a couple. First was serial number 2 that was the owners personal gun. The other was one that had a binary trigger in it. Since they were doing research they had to put many rounds thru them. I was lucky and was able to shoot several mags thru each. What an amazing gun!!! I however own a Saiga 12 and had it with me. I asked if they wanted me to get it and do a comparison since they both had never actually shot one. After several mags thru my Saiga they wanted to be able to tear it apart. But I've spent lots of time getting it to run all ammo very reliably and they had nothing bad to say. If the genesis was more budget friendly, I'd definitely own one!!!!

I feel like if this shotgun came out in a popular AAA videogame, it would be more busted than the AA12 and USAS-12 combined.
video games are so dumb, if I got shot with a pellet gun I'd drop like a sack of potatoes, you can shoot a guy in a video game with a .45 8 times before he drops. but I suppose it wouldn't be fun if it was a one hit kill

As a proud and happy owner of my IW TS12. I will admit, this Gen 12 is one seriously badass shot gun.
But at nearly double the cost of my TS12, Im still VERY happy in my purchase.
And lets face it, if cost were no object we would all be buying AA-12 shotguns
this is literally better in every way than an AA12 the only thing comparable is the fostech origin 12

The Vepr 12 is almost just as good if not more durable and reliable. Also it cost like 1/4 of the price of this $7000 shotgun.
Vepr is junk, will misfeed especially with lighter loads. AA12 is unavailable so not worth mentioning
And all the Derya models like the VR80, and all the other Turk guns that sell for peanuts...

I own the Benelli you have there and this Gen-12. I love them both BUT my gen-12 will often times NOT lock open on an empty mag. It's had no rhyme or reason when it will or will not work. Sometimes full power ammo won't engage it and sometimes weak ammo will...it misses about 70% of the time. What bothers me is I've contacted them at least 3 times and no one has bothered to answer me. I tried to buy the suppressor and nobody answers me....seems like they got my $2500 plus dollars and that's all they cared about. I do love the gun but mines not quite right. It has never jammed I can say that. You pull the trigger and it goes bang. Good video!

Had experience with Saiga-12 by Izhmash, and invested more than 100% of its price to make it right, but it still sucked.
Very disappointed and sold it.
I'm happy with Benelli M4 and 1301 LTT might be my new fav.

I just stumbled across this video and this is by far the funniest I’ve seen of you guys.
Saigas do require some tweaking to get them to run well, and it helps to run 1,350 fps ammo to ensure cycling. A mag well can be added to Saigas and their clones to assist in switching mags otherwise it’s exactly like the AK which requires rocking the mag into place. The Genesis looks like it based on a AK design but without the flaws

@m.danielmills7091 I bought mine back in the day when they were around 650-700 and it a single body clip from an rc car placed in exactly the right spot and iirc a 10c washer I had it cycling with nearly everything I put in it and I never remember it jamming until I sold it.
The recoil control with those slugs is crazy.

@@omnianti0 It has a patented recoil system. It's got all the bark of a 12 gauge, none of the bite. I've fired it with and without the suppressor. I'm sure there is a real difference besides the boom, but I can't feel it.

Short barrel anx a suppressor makes the diff. Lots of perceived recoil in a 12 is muzzle blast.

1: I have never wanted a shotgun so badly untill now.

Unbelievable what modern technology has created. Great work! Also, I was wondering with all of the improvements that are constantly being made in propellants and ammunition ballistics', can older style military (cold-war era) helmets and modern (post cold-war era) helmets really deflect rounds (grazing or glancing) shots? I still remember my DI's and instructors yelling at me to keep my head-down during infantry-combat-training. It's a given that most direct-shots will penetrate most helmet's but I've often wondered about deflected or glancing shots. Keep up the great work! Jeff-USMC-Retired.

@@tsugumorihoney2288These shotguns had their own problems, like the huge magazines (AA-12,) high recoil and longer barrels in comparison to this (Saiga and Vepr,) and issues with magazine feeding (Saiga.) This is the first fully automatic shotgun that manages to be very short, controllable, not suffer from any feeding issues or large magazines, and aso obtain a high rate of fire.

I had the opportunity to attend a TECC class with someone from Genesis, and not only was she an awesome lady, the way she talked about the project showed how passionate the crew working on it was during production.
