So I had this maintenance dinging going on for the past 2 months in my 2017 ford escape no lie.. it was driving my bf and I crazy. I brought it to ford, a few other things needed to be serviced with the car and they quoted me $900 to get it all fixed.
Long story short, you just helped us get rid of this incessant noise and I can’t thank you enough!!! I just liked, and subscribed. You also saved us so much time, headache, and money. Appreciate this video!!

@@RBTheMechanic any about the dome lights on the inside towards the front seats? For some reason mine won’t turn on when my door opens anymore and same goes for the lights on the doors. I noticed it when the car started doing the parking break ding noises. The lights still work, I just have to press them, they won’t turn on automatically anymore.
@@CJsGamingchannel I didn’t understand what u mean try replacing bulb some times it’s bulb or setting of the drone light on switch is off
@@RBTheMechanic oh my bad, I’ll try and rephrase it. When I open my car door, the inside lights used to turn on, but now they don’t. The lights do work if I press on them manually, but I’ve been trying to figure it out with the settings. No luck so far.

Hello, I have a question. I just bought a 2017 Ford Escape 1.5 and in the morning the air conditioning works well for me but after 10 or 15 minutes it stops freezing and the degrees go away. The check also came on and sometimes the light comes on. from the check and it turns off, what could it be? I'm from Honduras and there isn't much of a specialized workshop.
What is the code for check engine U need to scan the car for codes.
Is this to clear an engine notification to replace rear brake pads or is this step necessary when changing the break pads?
This is service mode u need to put in service more to do the rear brakes

@@motormouthaction4796 I don’t think so. The reason the car has to be in service mode for the rear brakes is because the rear brake assembly has the parking brake (or something) and you can’t remove the caliper unless the car is in service mode. The front brake pads should be able to be replaced without service mode.
On 2020 model you have to also hold the brake paddle for 1 second to take it out the maintenance mode

Why does it do this? I had it in maintenance mode for the last few months. I never released it back. Now it says “brake repair service now” or something and beeps every second. I dont have the money to fix it or get it diagnosed right now. What should i do? Is this an emergency? Should i try to put it back in maintenance mode? Ive been choking my back wheel for the last few months. Is this ok until i can get it diagnosed?
No it’s not ok try to take it out of brake mode not sure if it’s possable to drive it shouldn’t had even started
@@RBTheMechanic thats exactly why i put it in maintenance mode in the first place. I almost got stranded and it wouldnt drive. Then i put it in maintenance mode and was back on the road. I never took it out of maintenance mode so i figured it was still in that mode. How do i take it out of brake mode?
Hey man, I really enjoy your videos with in depth detail on how to fix issues at home, I have a very serious question for you. I have a 2010 Honda Civic LX and I thought the Freon was low on my car since the A/C was blowing moderately cold/warm at idle, I decided to fill it with Freon and that’s when the problem started, after I had done that the car started to get way warmer then usual when I had the A/C on but when I turn it off the car goes to normal operating temperature, I’m very worried as I do not want to overheat the car or damage the engine, the A/C works just fine and it works cold, the compressor turns on and off and when I plugged in the Freon nozzle to let some of it out it read under 0 psi and goes to the red after I start it up, I’m very confused on what to do and I need help, I’m located in Vegas but and recommendations would help tremendously, thank you! I hope you can help 🙏
Ur talking about engine temp start to go up? Check ur radiator fans if they work usully that’s the case
@@RBTheMechanic yes the engine temperature, there was no problem before I added Freon but after I had added it I can tell the A/C got colder but I saw my engine temperature skyrocket which is when I turned it off, should I purge it out? There was no issues only issues after I added the Freon, im not sure what to do as I want to be able to fix the issue in a cost effective way. Thanks.
@@pasidudissanayaka1843 if u added Freon using cans that’s not good idea I would have the system reserviced using ac machine recover vaccum and recharge

@@RBTheMechanic hey man, I did a little bit of diagnosing and found out the fan to the right side passenger side is not engaging when the car is warmed up and the A/C is on, is that due to the fact I overcharged it on accident? Both of them should be on correct? Or will I have to replace that fan and recharge the system. Is it possible it’ll start working after I recharge the system? Sorry for asking so many questions just wanted a professional to see what I should do.

Is it ok to replace the rear brakes without it into the service mode? What happens if you dont but replace pads anyway?
U can’t install the brakes without it wount fit
@@RBTheMechanic ummmm. I did no issues. Realized afterward about the service mode. So far all is well no lights coming on or issues noticed. Driven 50 plus miles so far. Used a loan a tool kit to compress caliper piston as some youtubers recommended. Not had any codes changed out pads due to it being 60k and getting close to pads nearly two thirds wore out.
Is there something I need to reset since pads are new now? You know like the oil change reset that's done after oil and filter change is done. Just wondering. . Rotors looked fine. No shaking upon braking or scoring.
I just came across this now. Rear brake service mode? I have never done this and have replaced my rear pads and rotors twice with no problems. 2017 Ford Escape - 190,000 kms. I can see this being useful if you have to do caliper replacement or emergency brake repair.
My 2020 Ford Escape went into service mode but now won’t come out now

I have the same issue. Went to take my 2018 Ford Escape out of maintenance mode and instead get the dash error "park brake limited function service required"
