    Somebody probably already posted this, but just a tip. The pistons will push in with maintenance mode on. They can be turned 1 direction a little to accommodate for after market pads that may have the peg on the back of the inside pads. With factory pads, you do not need to grease the calipers as the pads have that sticky silencer material on them.

      I have no experience with USA driving conditions. Is that too low milage for it to be replaced already ? Mines is about 70,000 km average for front wheel bearings and 50,000 km average per brake pads change. Granted 70,000 km is 4 years and 50,000 km is roughly 3 years.

      @@wonniewarrior I’m around 60,000m (100,000km) on my 3.5 year old truck. My brakes aren’t anywhere close to needing replacement, but I’m on the southern end of the salt belt. I also don’t do much driving in heavy traffic. Manual transmission probably helps some, too.

      @@jeffs2809 I am so surprised your USA cars are allowed to have so much rust in them in critical places. In Australia they would have been condemned. I had a holden commodore with rust in the silt rail, Vicroads (state road authority) saw it and wrote it off. I also had a Ford Falcon with rust around the windscreen. When the windscreen got replaced, I had to sign a waiver that I was responsible for any injuries if the windscreen popped out due to less adhesion to rust area. He made a valiant effort to treat the rust on the spot and cover it with rubber cement. It is mandatory to have snow chains on cars if in snowy areas as we dont allow salting on Australian roads.

    • @jeffs2809
      @jeffs2809 3 года назад

      @@wonniewarrior yeah, most states in USA have no routine safety inspection. The ones I’ve had experience with, didn’t seem to care much about body rust. I’m not even sure they’d care much about frame rot. I lived in Germany for a couple years & they were a lot more strict than anything I’ve seen in the USA.

    Another interesting video. Love the eligible bachelor thing. With all the exposure, he should be hooking up soon, if he hasn't already. 😁 Bottomed out a time or two. 😜 I really hate the electronic parking brake. Yep, fixing a problem that didn't exist. My 2015 impala has the piston that turns to the right to get it in. I was perfectly happy with the manual e brake. So, in an emergency, the e brake is either off or totally on. You can't gradually apply it. Stupid idea. My 89 F-150 still has the dimmer button on the floor, and a nice e brake pedal. Still works just fine.

    Thanks, Erick! Now i can change my 22' Maverick Lariat brakes when it's time. Recently, Rick (Ford Boss Me), posted a video about resetting the BMS without a scan tool and I've been wondering if there was a "secret code" for brake service mode.
    Also, most modern vehicles have a cabin air filter and it can cause excessive fogging up inside because the filter holds moisture. Just use the A\C year-round to dehumidify the air, even when it's cold outside. Lastly, I get a film buildup on the inside of my windows and no one smokes in my Maverick. I hear that it's from the plastics "off gassing". Jay Leno says he uses a degreaser like Simple Green first then a glass cleaner.
    (Update) My 22' Maverick with push button start, won't go into service mode. So I'm back to square one for now.
