So Ford and a local independent shop ( trinity tire in Jefferson) told me that 2020 and newer required a tool that hooked all 4 calipers at the same time that pulled fluid from reservoir while simultaneously filling the reservoir to remove air from lines and had to be in service mode. Found all this out after doing a brake job on a 2020 Explorer and all the calipers lost pressure and brakes would not work. Up till then, i used to do brake jobs on all my vehicles but now they've added all this stupid shit on them.

If you wanted to know, you can use that and other service procedures in ForScan

My 2020 didn't require maintenance mode. I unplugged the connector and turned in the piston.

From the dealership service mode manual: WARNING: Service actions on vehicles equipped with electronic parking brakes may cause unexpected parking brake application, which could result in injury to hands or fingers... cont.
I don't personally understand it inside and out, so for me it's better than gambling.
