Thank you for being so detailed. I had to service the rear brakes on my 2019 RAV4 and looked at several videos about how to put the brakes in service mode. Seems everyone had a different method and perhaps missed some of the simple steps. Leaving the door open being one of them. Everything worked as you said it would (I forgot to reattach one of the connectors and tried to reset the system and that didn’t go well😅! Anyway, once I realized the error and corrected it, the brakes reset according to your instructions. As it happened, I paid for a dealer service a couple years ago and only had about 25Km on the odometer from that time. I suspected the brake pads were stuck which is why I wanted to check it out. I was correct - both sides were seized and I used a rubber mallet to hit them out. One of the slider pins was also dry and stuck. I replaced the brake pads, serviced the calipers, etc. working great now!

In those parts, he's talking about if you want the parking brake to be automatically set or not whenever you put it into drive or park. You can have the parking brake automatically turn on whenever car goes into park, and auto turn off whenever u put into drive or reverse by pushing the brake pedal and pulling up on the e brake button and holding up for few seconds and u can turn that same automatic feature off by pushing brake pedal and pushing the e brake button down for few seconds

On the 2020 CHR forum, this has been a common problem......The warning light has cleared several times. Took car to At the dealer, although no codes came up, a code to replace the speed sensor on the rear right hub was recommended. Is this repair needed asap, or can I turn off the auto emergency brake to the off position to minimize tripping the maintenance light?? . Thanks in advance.
