I have a question, I have a LG C2 the OLED tv and it comes with Amazon tv, Apple TV, and all the same stuff this does, is there a point of buying the stick or cube?
If it’s fine for you, then no need. I have a C1 which also has the stuff, I just prefer dedicated stuff more. Apple TV is also great for projecting your phone or tablet fairly easily. I think LG allows some type of this as well. So if you’re happy, no need to change
Is that a 4K Maxx? Because the regular 4K comes with that remote. The max comes with a taller remote with a DirecTV and peacock button instead of Disney and Hulu and the remote is longer but also has channel buttons. 16 gigs of memory
I don't know. I just got a 4K Maxx 2023 model and was looking at the differences between it and the regular 4K 2023. The remote he's showing is for a regular 4K. The max has DirecTV buttons, a channel button, and a peacock button replacing the Hulu and Disney Plus buttons. The other reviews on RUclips also show the same difference between the two. Maybe they change them out. And I got a newer updated model I don't know. Just observation I have made
I leave most of those settings on default. My LG OLED tv supports Dolby Vision which is supposed to be the best picture quality (even better than HDR, HDR10 and HDR10+) but not every source supports that so I leave the stuff on auto for that very reason.
@@landpet Fair enough, might be worth toggling it for any SDR content just to be sure. Also give match frame rate a go and see if there is a difference. Would be cool for you to test out if there are difference in picture quality or audio quality between the two. Also, unsure if you use plex, but testing if Al the HDR and audio formats are supported, but this would depend on your audio equipment. Any chance you have any of the older generation of fire tv sticks/cubes to compare against for those looking to upgrade?
This was amazing. Great review and comparison. I came here thinking I wanted the TV cube because it was better and way more powerful and faster than the stick… but honestly, it’s just about the same and I don’t care for voice commands. So I’m going to get the stick. Ps. You have the faster internet I’ve ever seen. 😮
Glad it was useful, and the new fire stick 4k max is great. Some people have much faster internet lol but mine is pretty fast cause I review a ton of routers
in the UK offer is available for the cube tv at £70 and the 4k max 2nd gen at £45. do you believe the extra £25 is justifiable and worth getting over the stick?
I jumped on the cube 3rd gen for £71.60. I think hands free Alexa commands is quite useful coming from a fire tv cube 2nd gen. Also having the extra hdmi in may be useful in future as I’m already using all 4 ports. This cube runs fire os 7 vs the stick on os 8. Think os 7 is based on android 9 and os 8 based on android 11. You miss out on the ambient experience with the cube but I was reading on the firetv subreddit that it looks to be that it is more locked down than the cube.
Great video just wanted to mention I heard it does great upscaling on 1080p material to 4K just like the Nvidia shield which the fire stick 4K Max second gen does not do. So I'm curious if you can run a test on the picture quality versus both on upscaling capabilities. I have Max second gen but would upgrade to the cube if it did great upscaling. Also maybe Amazon might come out with a fourth generation maybe soon I'm still researching. Which may be worth the wait. Thanks
They might come out with a new version. Most things I watch look fairly good with it but my TV has some upscaling as well. My next streaming video is going to be a comparison between the new Roku ultra, new Google streamer, latest Apple TV and this latest cube.
Do not connect a PlayStation 5 or Xbox through your Fire TV cube. Not only do you not get a 120 Fps, vrr doesn't work and other features don't pass through
The "6e" on the 4k max gen 2 is a joke! I literally get faster speeds using the 5ghz channel! I literally only upgraded because it supported 6e, I don't think you can truly call it a 6e device. Sure it connects to the 6ghz channel, but the speeds I get are a complete joke!

Dang Bro. what router are you using?
Wich you recomend me between the fire tv cube vs onn 4k pro of walmart??
Outstanding and finally a review of the two top dogs...appreciate the comparison and the new Max is just so so nice!
Thanks! Yeah theyre both great, MAX is a phenomenal deal
i'm mostly interested in the upscaling capabilities of these two devices, is one better than the other?
I honestly can’t tell a difference but I do believe the cube had the super resolution option which is supposed to help

WebOS is terrible...

Yes it’s the new 4K Max
Hi, what about image quality? Are the same? Colors , contrast, etc, etc. How they compare with a native Smart TV image quality?
I can't notice a difference. They should be the same. Should be as good as the source is and the resolution of the TV up to 4K
Best review I've seen of the 4k Max stick and the 2022 Fire TV cube. Appreciate your work man 10/10
Thanks!

Should HDR setting not be adaptive for any non hdr content? Also I thought you would want to match frame rate to the content you are viewing?

No problem!
Good review !

like the Cube !!
makes sense
They still use micro usb 🤢
Yeah just got a 4k max and was disappointed about that they updated the 8 prokid tablet to c though

how does this impact anything you do on a firestick?
The shield is still the top dog
I haven’t tried that one but specs wise that one has been good for a while
I was just about to pay $180 for cube and I think the sticker will work better
Stick is great
Should be gigabit ethernet port wtf
apple tv 4k has gigabit port
