    He was a beautiful soul. In the book Texas Flood written about him after he passed by friends and band mates. He insisted on a four way split with his band. They got paid what he did. Nothing fake about this man.

    A broken string, a guitar change, sound adjustments, behind his back, with his teeth and losing a tooth in the process and a timeless message that we can all learn from and live by. Simply freaking incredible!

    Stevie sings a phrase of this song that was later put on his grave marker. "Thank you for all the love you passed our way".

    • @wolfe6220
      @wolfe6220 3 года назад +6

      I live in Dallas and visited his grave on Christmas. His family estate in the cemetery is beautiful and peaceful and you can really feel his presence there. People go there to play guitar by his grave, there's wind chimes and birds singing in the trees and always flowers on the grave, no matter when you go. As much as Stevie loved his fans, they still love him back, even after 30 years. Driving away from his resting place, I ended up right back by his grave. He must not have wanted me to go. I laughed, rolled down the window, and played Pride and Joy for him.

    Sorry! One last thing: Stevie made an album with his brother Jimmie right before he died, called ‘Family Style’. It has some great stuff on it that I don’t think anyone has reacted to. “Tick Tock”, written and intro’d by Jimmie, sung by Stevie, and the incredible “Long Way From Home”, with Stevie on lead guitar and Jimmie showing why he’s one of the world’s greatest rhythm guitarists. Steve Vai is a very technical player. Nice guy. Was ahead of me in Carle Place HS. Joe Satriani great too, but I feel no connection to the music it doesn't touch my heart. This song has a kind of 3 over 4 feel that is a bit hard to play with feeling (can get caught up counting the beats).

    that's gotta be the best performance out there, I mean what he did on that stage aside from even playing the song and then there's the song and the message and playing through losing his tooth and levitating off the stage, haha, it's just such a beautiful thing

    I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley Wisconsin August 26th 1990. The next morning was one of the saddest days of my life. The lineup was Eric Clapton, SRV, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy.
