Before , this concert, the sweat was cocaine, Crown Royal, and passion. From this concert on till his death , it was all passion. Final album with Double Trouble, was titled " In Step' a nod to the 12 steps..RIP Stevie.
Thank you for doing this version, The Nashville concert was a part of the Jerry Lewis Telefon, for Muscular Dystrophy, a 24 7 Labor Day Marathon of music comedians etc. This is one of the first concerts SRV did after cleaning up...thanks man .
Nice reaction, Pops…I was lucky enough to see him 3 times….I don’t have the words to describe it… Ahh, damn, I called you Pops…I’m 69 years old myself 😂 I forget that sometimes. Perfect reaction, brother
Zooty, your reactions, and insightful comments, are always good to hear. Stevie Ray was an unbelievable musician and it was a shame that he had to leave that soon. However, lucky what he left behind is epic and maybe why so many are rediscovering his music. There is a saying, “Gone but never forgotten.” Thanks again.
Great reaction. There are several versions by Stevie and in his usual manner, each is different. This one is one of the “cleanest”, very pure and straight forward. My personal favorite is the performance at the Capitol Theater in Passaic , NJ. It’s more energetic and passionate. ( He loses a tooth on stage for instance!) In it, as usual, there is a monologue; different but still profound. Suggest you give it a viewing. You’ll enjoy it.
Zooty your right, I'm from Nashville and the music scene is so much more diverse than most give it credit for. I saw this show at Starwood Amphitheatre with Joe Cocker! I'm way blessed!!🙏🐶😎🇺🇸P.S. - this is the "clean" version of Stevie just months before the crash 😢
I was there that fatal night when Stevie's copter went into the side of a ski slope in Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. Still is one of the foggiest nights I've known in all my 60 years. The last song Stevie ever played on stage was Sweet Home Chicago, accompanied by Robert Cray, Jimmy Vaughn & Eric Clapton. It didn't suck
Very much enjoyed your comments. Please do yourself the great favor of watching this song by SRV live at the Capital Theatre. Never seen anything remotely like it. Nothing - absolutely nothing - comes close.
