Thanks! I have had the Velocity One Flight Stick for a while, but I have not been able to get it to work for helicopters. I'm a retired Army pilot with over 5500 hours in Chinooks, I got MSFS 2020 because I knew helicopters were coming. And now with MSFS 2024, I needed this even more. I guess I have problems because the sticks don't really work like a helicopter, and I'm surprised that know one has come up with a set of controls at a reasonable cost. I'm going to keep watching and try your settings! Thanks again!
@MagnusThornberg Really happy I could help! I have a VKB stick coming today and I'll be making a video on that because it has removable springs and can further add a good helo experience!
@KevinKanji Glad it could be of some help, thanks for watching! You could mod the spring but if you are sticking with xbox I would get a second unit. One for heli and one for fixed wing.
@@Rotor-SimsI’m going to play with the Cabri later today. I’m happy with my spring modification as I only use the stick for Helis and Airbus sidestick. For other fixed wings/throttle quadrant I use the Velocity One flight yoke. **Update** Works like a charm! I crashed on landing but that isn’t a control issue ;-) - btw anyone else on Xbox suffering from the cockpit view drift issue, if you set the Axis 6/7 dead zone on the Flight Stick to 0.1, it will resolve.
@Rotor-Sims nice video sir thank you for this video i just buy the Turtle Beach Velocity One yesterday as a birthday present for myself haha 🤣 i turn 44 i will ask you sir can you please make a video like this for a setup for the H125 sir for the Turtle Beach Velocity One in FS2024 ones again Sir thank you for all you do for all of us
@trffinal1541 I'm glad it helped and thank you for watching! I ended up returning it and got the VKB Gladiator. Much better suited for heli. So for the H125 it doesn't have a true throttle axis in the sim. It functions currently as basically on and off. You can bind those to buttons under the specific category. Lessen the roll and pitch sensitivity. Just a bit and it should be very flyable
This is the only thing I can get HAT1 to work on, helicopters. For some reason you can't bind it to anything else in planes. I got as far in the training as cyclic hovering and it was spinning all over the place and I couldn't progress. I think it's bugged half way through the training as each time it starts I go wildly off and can't save it
@ArcanePath360 I can't use a game pad to control a heli. The best stick I found that is most cost effective with a damping system is the VKB Gladiator but it only works on PC
@@Rotor-Sims Interesting. I actually packed this stick away because it was horrible to use, as soon as I did I was getting A in every tutorial with the gamepad. Controlling the camera is also far easier. I can't use one hand to steer and turn the camera at the same time. It messes me up. Just controlling the cyclic alone is hard enough with an over sensitive stick
@ArcanePath360 I know with vkb you can get a throttle quadrant and it has a hat switch on it so keep your left hand on view hat which you right hand on the joystick for cyclic. VR is also an option

@MarkAlderson Happy to help and thanks for watching! I have a VKB on the way which isn't that expensive and I'll go through that as well
@@Rotor-Sims Great, I'll be looking for it!
@MarkAlderson Thank you! Try these setting for cabri in the vid.
They exist, but depends on what you think is a reasonable cost.
@seattime4075 I think anything under 200 is reasonable if you really want a good experience. Thank you for your service 🫡
Jesus you are a savior 😄 your settings made my helicopter fly much better. Not so twitchy anymore.

@ I’m on Xbox so not so many option. But I change the spring in velocity one stick to a very light one.
@MagnusThornberg Glad to hear, how do you like it with the lighter spring?
@ night and day difference 🙏 especially for helicopters. Can move it just with the fingertips if I want.
@MagnusThornberg That sounds perfect!
Thanks for doing this! Very very helpful. I’m on Xbox so I don’t have the VKB as an option, so this is gratefully received!

@KevinKanji Awesome! Glad it helps. Nice having the throttle work properly too!

I loved the video. I cannot get the mixture to stay rich. Even in auto start it just falls back to lean and kills the engine. Any ideas?

@@ArcanePath360 Is this happening even with the latest update?
@@Rotor-Sims Yes. I went back to using the gamepad. FAR easier to control and I ended up getting A ratings straight away. This stick is useless.
