Thank you for your quick response for the velocity one Flightstick. Looking forward to your future videos with this flightstick for Airliners. Best wishes from the U.S.
Before I even watch this.... Thank you in advance. I had decided to wait for this very video, having used your velocity one set-up in MSFS20. I'm very happily surprised to see this drop so soon. Much appreciated from a fellow Huddy :)!!!
Same 😂 I lost the will to live with the 2024 v1fs default settings and played a few times (once I got in) on controller only. If only Microsoft had a cloud platform we could import old 2020 settings from 😉
Well, it looks like the battle between Microsoft and Velocity One. I was on the phone yesterday with both companies. Neither wants to accept responsibility for the problem with the reversed elevator problem. We tried everything we could think of to no avail. So no we just sit and wait for the team that will accept responsibility and fix it.
@@Huddison thanks for all you do but we need the xbox configuration for the alpha xpc and the bravo since msfs2024 as it as 1 unit. The xbox community is waiting. There’s nothing online.
Thank you brother for taking the time to make this video. I used your settings on 2020 and they were a game changer. I havent even watched the video yet. But your content is so good. I know you dont lead us a stray. Thanks again brother and god bless
The trim wheel works for the elevator trim. First, turn off the”AI Auto-Trim” in “Assistances”. The map the trim wheel to “Elevator Trim Axis (-100 to 100%)”. And youn need to invert it.
Thank you for your continued commitment to helping us less experienced simmers on XBox - gave me the necessary knowledge that could have taken me days to set up on my own.
Unfortunately when I am going into the hardware settings to adjust deadzones, I am unable to select the fine tuning options. My cursor simply won't allow me to select anything within that particular menu 🙃
I’d say dedicated trim axis do work in a sense, I can move elevator trim in proper direction (had to invert it too). The problem is, it is very imprecise and occasionally I have very big values, may be related to AP on and off. I will try to assign a couple of buttons instead. Overall, very useful video, I did resolve all major problems, like drift and inverted axis too, but it definitely took me much more time. Other than that, using left hat for AP is not bad, but it seems that nothing is left to control views (instrument, landing, custom etc..), cursor and menus like communications. Do you handle all that via gamepad (or mouse which I do not have currently)? Regarding custom profile - you can make it default, but on my XSX after loading the game it still reverts to original settings and I have to reassign it. I am even under impression, that occasionally it happens when you switch planes, for example by going to career mode. Looking forward to see your advanced settings.
Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas One has the same issues requiring inverse settings. Might assume that all joysticks have the same issues...what in the world were they thinking when they did this?
Perfect! The camera drift was driving me insane and never even thought about trying dead zones. Do you have any tips for the throttle resetting on career mode? Works fine in free flight but not career mode for some reason
MSFS 2024 to me is like Dr. Who explaining Time Travel " A big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff" and of course another very very good Video Thank You
@huddison THANKS for this video, I'm on series X and this has helped a lot. FYI i noticed that there is a controller icon now in the 2024 quick access menu in game, just click the active pause then controller icon and get instant access to the remapping page without going in and out of the main settings page 👍 also, that cockpit free look drift problem also seems to happen with the regular controller, not only the V1FS, which is just baffling lack of testing on the xbox version. Kind of weird that they had the xbox insiders beta programme for 2020, but didn't do a preview build for 2024 🤔
You have saved me from giving up ,a million thanks.Maybe if you get a chance can you you show us how you can use mouse to pan round cockpit which I could do in MSFS 2020,
Brilliant video again James just what I needed looking forward to the rest of ur videos as I have a lot of different peripherals. Do u no if the Logitech switch panel & radio work in 2024. Thx James 😀
@ thx James I hope they work as I have all 3 & it’s so much easier to us AP & heading trim etc. I look forward to ur up & coming videos that I always watch & learn a great 🙏😀
Cannot truly understand how someone created any of the device defaults and said; "Yup, proud of that days work!" ...you said to remind you about the TB yoke reverse thrust setup... 😂
thank you so much for these videos, as long as I follow you exactly I always save myself grief. I am what the MSFS community would call a noob so bear with me on this question. Everything showed in this video worked perfectly for me except for the hat controller. With each of the directions it gave me additional joystick bindings as follows: JS POV Right + JS Button 12, LEFT (11), UP (11) and DOWN (13). at first I thought this meant that it was also reading my controller, but when I tried to find those buttons on the controller it reminded me I wasn’t in the correct profile for that. I’m not sure what to make of 11 12, 13 and 14 “dual bindings”, as it didn’t appear to happen to you in the video. Ignore?
Newbie here Huddison, thanks for the video and perfect timing I receive the stick tomorrow. I’m new to the whole thing, Xbox-S , and the Flight Simulator 2024. I’m assuming that while making these changes the stick was already connected to the console, how were you using the mouse? Wirelessly thru the Xbox?
@ ok thanks and sorry for the ridiculous question. I just finished watching your video on setting up the Xbox controller for MSFS24 , followed step by step and that really helped and gave me a better understanding of it all, I appreciate that please keep the videos coming. Thank you
A bit off topic, but on the V1 yoke the trim wheel doesn’t register in the settings but it works in planes. It’s inverted in some and normal in others, but it works.
Just going through the setup and got to trim wheel and thought I would try the centre roller and it works for the elevator trim, possibly the update has helped
Very useful video even though I'm not on the V1 its still interesting to see how you set your controls up 👍 I assume you log them all down on a crib sheet for use during flights. If definitely struggle to remember some of them lol I may go back and delete my current profiles and start afresh in case there's any conflicts i'm but aware of.
I’m assuming you checked that trimming isn’t activated in the assistance menu. I would really like some help with getting the mouse to pan around in the cockpit. A lot of us are having problems with that.
Would love some advice on toggling avionics in the Cessna. So far, no luck when binding to any button on the velocity one flight yoke or throttle quadrant😢
Great video mate - can you do a video on how to combine xbox controller with keyboard and mouse And another video on how to combone flight stick velocityone with keyboard and mouse
I'm baffled trying to get a zoom function working for cockpit and external views, I guess I'll search zoom as the options I find in the camera section don't seem to work for me
How can I get rid of keyboard in controls. I have Velocity one and a wireless mouse, which I want, but keyboard commands want to always become the primary inputs when I restart game.
When I go into hardware as you did in the video you have 'Joystick Axis 1/2/3/4/5 etc' where as I dont I have 'Joystick LAxis X/Y/Z' 'Joystick RAxis X/Y/Z' and everything is inverted
Not sure if it just got patched but my trim wheel seems to be working. Have to invert it like most of the others but otherwise works. I didn't do anything strange to get it working
@@Huddison I'll also note that two days ago my V1 flight yoke throttle quadrant wasn't working but today it's responding to input so maybe they patched it up
I have managed to get trim wheel working. Set V1 to digital buttons and bind them in the sim to Elevator Trim Down (nose down) - Joystick button 13 (and trim up to JB 14). It moves the trim wheel fairly slowly so a fair bit of thumb scrolling is needed when adjusting! Re: H2 button for looking around - when I set this, I lose freelook on Mouse RB. Did you find the same?
@ Aah, PC. The V1 was already set to digital buttons and when I bound them using scan input, I just scrolled the wheel one notch in the direction I wanted - if that makes sense?
Do you have a solution to the elevator not slowly pitching up or down but rather if the stick is set back even a bit it pitches the aircraft up fully. In your video when you tested the elevator your yoke slowly moves up or down unlike mine.
This is so unintuitive - I can’t even work out how to get to some of the settings. Like how do you select the control settings on the right hand side? They really dropped the ball on this release.
@@Anth369 same issue for me, I'm on Xbox series X. I'm resorting to play on controller which is frustrating as I purchased the v1 flightstick specifically for MSFS24. Works perfectly on 2020. Hopefully they patch it soon
