Please ensure that you delete all camera-related controls from your peripheral devices (especially devices with moving axes). That’s usually the main cause of the camera drifting issue. I’d even recommend saving a separate profile in case it decides to reset (given the buggy nature of the sim right now). That way, you can just switch to the correct profile instead of trying to delete the key binds on your peripheral devices each time.
What a blessing VR technology has been for Simmers. Besides the unreproducible sensation of real emersion that VR brings to the hobby, you also eliminate the need to be involved with the unrealistic and unnatural motions of pushing a key on a keyboard to reproduce the natural head and eye movements that VR inherently provides. Although there has been tremendous advancements in VR technology, and modest price reductions have occurred, I believe the advancements we'll see in the next 2 or 3 years will make VR an obtainable option for the majority of Simmers.
As a real-world pilot, it was amazing to see how much such a simple thing can completely change the sim experience. The simplest example is how I always used to hate flying a pattern in sims, because you base all your turns on visual cues that simply weren't there, and flying a crap pattern sets you up for a crap landing. I currently use a Quest 3, and it's made simming so much more enjoyable.
Although I'm on Xbox this was still useful to watch. I'm finding the bindings in the new sim really difficult with things not always doing what I have them set to. Amazing that MS did not allow transferring of bindings from 2020 to prevent so much extra work in the new sim.
Thank you very much for an excellent video tutorial. Clear and concise demonstration and very helpful with sorting out this mess I didn't expect from Microsoft this time around. I'm still having a battle with configuring the controls but after watching this it has come a little clearer, even though it would have been easier if you had the same type of a control setup. I have got TM Hotas Warthog Rep. 18C and a simple rudder pedals, nothing fancy but, it's highly unlikely that one would find someone with exactly the same setup. I will definitely keep watching your channel, it looks really promising. One thing really puzzles me, do we really have to make an individual profile for every aircraft? It looks that way.
Really loved your video it explained a lot to me being a new msfs. Do you have any tutorial on how to get all the notifications off and what it tells you the equipment tgat yoy are selecting dose. Thank you
Hi. I’m using the same pro flight rudder pedals as you from saitek. In controls when I select it the picture image doesn’t show up like yours. I can’t seem to find drivers for it also so don’t know if that’s the cause? Would appreciate any help or suggestions from you. Thanks!
Could you please share your video settings? I'm unable to replicate what you have at 09:52, despite having the same PC specs. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hello sir Great tutorial video quick question can you tell me if Home Cockpit Mode enabled and works in this version of MSFS 2024 it's under General options Camera options and then Home Cockpit Mode Thank you.
I have a problem with msfs 2024 on Xbox. I have the Latin VFR static aircraft and I can’t turn off the AI traffic in settings. On Xbox, we don’t have access to any graphics settings. This results in aircraft being stacked on top of each other at the gates. Do you have a fix? Thanks and have a great day.
I have the same stick and throttle and I move the free camera on the throttle hat switch and it keeps moving around with momentum, it does not stays in place (even setting the momentum to zero). It's unplayable because I have to adjust it all the time. Is this normal? I don't remember having this problem in MSFS2020
Please ensure that you delete all camera-related controls from your peripheral devices (especially devices with moving axes). That’s usually the main cause of the camera drifting issue. I’d even recommend saving a separate profile in case it decides to reset (given the buddy nature of the sim right now). That way, you can just switch to the correct profile instead of trying to delete the key binds on your peripheral devices each time.
The settings in this game are so exhausting. I feel like I spend more time in the settings than anything else and tbh it kind of deters me from trying out different aircraft because of how many have such different buttons, switches, etc. I have a Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo setup. Its fantastic but binding different settings is quite annoying, especially when there are multiple different settings for the same function. It gets easier to understand over time, but I hate going back and forth so much. Another issue I've found is when going into the hardware settings to change the sensitivity/curves of the axis, it doesnt actually show the input on the HUD. Normally as you move the axis, it will show a line or something that moves with it so you can see how much the changes affect that particular axis. Its hard to explain but as of now I just kind of guess, go back into the plane, try it out, and then repeat. The game itself has so many bugs right now that I'm forced to just wait until they are fixed before playing more. Career mode, for me, is such a mess. Missions start with the plane half in the ground, at airstrips/fields with trees in the middle of the runway, some don't have a runway at all or it spawns me in a place where I can't get to the runway, the ATC stuff is completely messed up especially when it comes to taxiing and when flying, even though I'm nowhere close to voilating speed/altitude restrictions, I am getting hit with countless penalties for doing so. The nav is also broken as you try to send it to your avionics and it just doesnt work. I also find the objectives at times are frankly impossible. It tells me to climb way steeper than possible for a 172, then the circle for sightseeing is actually thousands of feet below where it just told me to go. Its just a fucking mess and the more I think about it, the more frustrated I get. For now, I guess I just have to stick with the free flight, even though that has its own bugs that need sorting. Just disappointed in this games condition at release. It was clearly not ready in terms of buggyness as well as with the server issues we all experienced.
Cak I ask I am a simer since 1980s but I find difficult to asing the keys as the costom view now with rhe mousecturning my head its not stays there it goes on the default center view.....how to change that .....to do like you said.....anazing video 👍👍👍👍 thank you
Just go to assigned and delete the mappings for each device, I actually really like mapping the controls - seems intuative to me, but many disagree. I do think some people have a problem taking in information shown in the screen and then blame the software because they expect it to work like .
Confirm that your brakes function properly with your brake binding settings, in the toe brakes left and right function independently and that the proper pilot and copilot sets function as expected. In my setup, both left and right toe brakes operate at the same time with the press of either right or left toe brake. And actually, my copilot and pilot settings are reversed.....
Didn't FS2020 have a feature where if you press the button on the joystick, it would show which button/name that was on the image of the joystick within the settings? Like, if I pulled the trigger (button 1) on the joystick, the trigger on the image of the joystick would glow blue and say button 1 or whatever. Just so many QoL features and fixes that were pushed in FS2020 that just isn't in this game.
Please tell us HOW you managed to migrate FS2020 control settings into FS2024. As much as I appreciate this tutorial it would be far better (for FS2020 and now fs2024 users) if you described how you did it.
The bindings that you do in this video with your keyboard is it only guilty for this specific aircraft,. Do I have todo it in every aircraft???? I have spent hours and hours to get this work but when I come back to the aircraft all bindings are gone. Can not understand why
Anyone figure out how to invert the cockpit freelook y axis. When I right click to freelook I want my view to look up when my mouse goes up and vice versa. I went through default mappings and tried to invert by remapping them or ticking invert in the gear symbol page but it doesn’t change.
Took a little bit of time getting my flight stick set up this time around. So far the simulator has not been impressive as VR as been disappointing, but hopefully over time it will get optimized, but then again VR in 2020 was horrible too. I upgraded to the 9800X3D for $1,000 and another $200 for the simulator and so far it has not been all that impressive.
For me when I run MSFS 2024, I go into the settings and then go back out and the game crahses and has been for a couple days now. Also, when I am trying to spawn at a gate with the default A330, it crashes when I am spawning in. Is there any way i can fix this? I'm running mostly recommended specs and some Ideal specs.
Not sure if you'll know what's causing this but my cockpit camera moves up to the left continuously. I also can't activate cockpit freelook with my right mouse button. I have checked all settings/peripheral devices and can't find a fix. Any advice?
Hey there, YES! I had this exact same problem. Here’s how I fixed it. Start by unplugging each peripheral device one by one to see if the phantom camera movement stops. Once you’ve isolated it, go into controls settings for that peripheral and search up “camera” in the controls options. You should see that some free movement axis on your peripheral device was bound to camera look controls, which is causing the issue. For me, it was my TCWS throttle quadrant. I just deleted those key binds entirely, created a new profile and saved it. Problem solved :)
Im using x box series x and struggling to get into the plane. It just shows the outside/walk around view. Cant open doors even when im next to the doors
Your can't you have to manual import the bindings. He mentioned that he had to spend time doing this. A real miss by MS to bit make it an iron to copy over your bindings, etc.
I’ve been using the aim 4 days now and still can’t figure out how to get in and out of first person mode. I’d like to be able to see the character as it walks around. Any ideas?

Wait how’d did you load into free flight without it taking forever
Dude, I don't know what kind of computer you have but that is the best I have seen MSFS 2024 look... can't believe how detailed it is...

Why can't we start with a blank profile as we can with 2020 ?
What's wrong with these people ?

There's even a 'clear' option in the profile menu that I assumed would clear the bindings for that profile but it doesn't seem to do anything 🤦
