Since doing this video, I've purchased my own LCP MAX and a couple of extra magazines. I've also installed Talon Grips, their Pro version, on it. Makes for a very lightweight handgun with 11 rounds, for those days when you don't really want the weight or size of a "real" firearm. :-)

They declared that US citizens and personnel would not receive priority during evacuation, which is completely backwards. The LCP Max is an excellent little 380 pocket pistol. It is currently my backup /pocket EDC. I have 200 rounds through it so far with zero issues. I am very impressed how accurate it is considering it’s size. The only downside is the magazine. If it sits fully loaded for long time, the slide will not stay open after the last round is fired. Not a deal breaker for me. I still love this little thing.

@@livefreeprintguns yes it does come with an extended base pad uninstalled. You`ll have to switch it out if you want to. For size comparisons I wear size large gloves. I tried the pinky extension and didn`t like it. It was to small for me. I prefer curling my pinky under the base pad. It feels weird at first but after a while it just feels natural. Fits well in the pocket with very minimal printing in a good holster. I added the pinky extender and talon grips, game changer. I'm still not able to carry any of my rigs on my right side a year later. I'm looking at another surgery. I can't even raise my arm enough to shoot someone in the kneecaps. This gun has become my everyday carry. I drop it in my left pocket and go. It's not what I want to carry caliber wise. But 13 rounds of 380 with a extra ten round magazine on my side. I'm a beta tester, too. Bought mine the day after they hit the stores. Excellent little shooter, and ran all 150 rounds I could afford to put through it the first day, half being 95-grain Winchester Train FN-FMJ, and half being the same weight in their Defend JHP.
I carry it with the HP in the chamber and first three in the magazine, with the FMJ following.
My only issue is the 10-round magazine not reliably locking the slide back in live fire (it does in manual empty-mag racking.) I had already sourced a 12-round magazine, which works properly. When I contacted Ruger, they offered to send me a new magazine; what arrived was another 12-round one. I pulled and stretched the spring in the 10-rounder, but haven't been back to the range yet.
All in all, it's a great carry gun. Not sure it will ever fully replace the Kel-Tec P32 I've been toting as a BUG for eleven years now, but it's getting close.

Put in an order for the Max about 5 minutes after finding out that they exist. My LCP 2 gets carried more than anything else, but if all goes well it's switching to reserve duty. I look at them the same as my box knife. Goes to work with me, does everything it needs to do, but doesn't inspire any passion, nor does it need to. Just a no nonsense, well functioning tool that's convenient enough to put on your person and forget.

Love the LDP Max. Have the old model LCP which my wife has because it fits her small hand better, but the 12 round mag was a disappointment, went back to the 10, works great and pretty accurate. Since then, I have developed some reloads, using CFE Pistol and Winchester 231 and the new critical defense 68gr bullets (look like drill points), these clocked at just under 1200 fps and did some real damage to a freezer burned rump roast, through two blue jean legs and the recoil is not that bad, for some reason the recoil feels different in this gun than in my other guns, could be the powder but whatever, with some 90 grain lead RNFP bullets and W231, makes a nice training load and fun to shoot at the range. This new load for me takes the 380 to another level, no longer a mouse gun. Thank you Ruger, and Hickock, you are still the greatest. Love this little Max. PS Bought the 12 round mag, just load 10 in it, but it adds to the grip and I love it. And if 10 won't do it, I will just throw the gun at them and run like hell.

Finally got me one of these today (7/12/2022) and I’m extremely happy with what Ruger has done with their LCP line. After previously owning two original LCP’s and then moving onto a LCP II but still not liking the capacity nor the sights, I think I’ve finally settled on a small pocket pistol/shorts and flip flop day carry option. This really has nice sights and the trigger is, I swear, even better than the LCP II, but having 13 rounds (with the 12+1 magazine) is really making it hard to wanna carry my tried and true Glock 26. This just is an easy grab and go option.

Hickok45....great review. Here's another hint at the finger-pinch issue. Yes...smoothing over the plastic edges of the frame ( where the trigger pokes through) solves maybe 90-95% of the issue. Here's more---> Since you like Talon grip tape....get a rectangular piece...and cover the exposed hole where the pinch occurs ( just ahead of the trigger where you filed), and if you size the Talon material right.....you can get some of the material to come "up" on both of the frame "sides", stopping just short of the slide.....to act as a thumb rest area for your support hand. Works really well to get rid of the last 5-10% finger pinch irritation.

Picked up mine mid-July... I LOVE IT!
I was seriously thinking LCPII, they are a bit skinny in the hand but appealing none the less. I am glad I waited long enough for this come out! The grip is wider, and fits my hand, and several others I have show this too, very nicely.
I have managed to put a total of 300 rounds through it during 2 different outings, and yes I had to break into my back stock but it is worth it, and I am very happy with its performance.
I have ran Round Nose FMJ's, Flat Nose FMJ's & Jacketed Hollow Points, through it with no issues. Even when mixed in the same mag!
The 10 round mag is supplied with a flush mount base plate, I did swap it out for the supplied finger rest base plate and it works just perfectly for me!
Reference the somewhat common compliant about the slide not locking back. I too had that happen while dry firing it, however, live fire has NEVER failed to lock back on the last round!
I wear Wrangler jeans pretty much always, and the front right pocket works for carry, its comfortable while I am in a vehicle, or at my desk. I forget its there when I'm at the grocery store ect.
Empty weight, with holster, is 11.68 oz. Add the 10 + 1 rounds, I see 15.34 oz on my digital kitchen scale.
I'm thinking I will get a 12 round mag later on, but frankly the 10 round fits my needs well!

Follow-Up... So I have been pocket carrying this beauty for about 18 months now. I have put over 800 rounds through it. I now use the 12 round mag full time, with the 10 round mag as back-up.
Again, empty weight, with the factory pocket holster, is 11.68 oz. Add the 10 + 1 rounds, I see 15.38 oz on my digital kitchen scale. With the 12 + 1 configuration and factory holster, I see 16.08 oz.
Late last year, I picked up a nifty little OWB holster from Tactical Scorpion Gear, TSG-LCP2-2 (option 2), it's for the LCPII, and the LCP Max fits in this awesome holster perfectly! The supplied, "tuck-it-in" style paddle is a bit difficult for me, but the belt attachment works flawlessly! I dont OWB the pistol often, but when I do this one is perfect!
I have also replaced the stock pocket holster, back in June (2022), with one from Galco, PRO836B, and absolutely love this holster! With the 12 + 1 configuration, and this holster, I see 16.47 oz. Should have done it long ago!
For pocket carry, I still believe that this pistol is the best option out there!

Swapped out the sights for truglo 3 dot night sights, added a crimson trace flashlight, and pocket carry it in a SM-4 sticky holster.
