I searched high and low for ECD. I Pocket carry in a very secure carbon fiber holster that will almost eject off with a flick of the thumb … after the 12+1 is fully out of my pocket. Thanks for the great review of the Ruger LCP MAX. I've had the LCP II in 380 acp since it was first introduced, finding the only drawback being limited 6 round capacity. Recently I picked up the LCP MAX and have both 10 and 12 round mags. That with the addition of the Tritium front sight means it blows away earlier versions of the LCP>
I had an LCP II and was pleased with it so I don’t think I would have bought the Max just for a few rounds of extra capacity. But for me, the sights are so much better on the Max that I bought one just for them.
How are you liking the Max so far? I've also been pleased with my LCP 2. It's so easy to carry and while it's not exactly a comfortable range gun it's quite manageable. But I would like to try the Max because the sights look really nice.
@@mig50cc I like it very much. It has been reliable with Hornady XTP Ammo, (all I can find) and my reloads with 100 grain X Treme Plated RNFP. Sights are a MAJOR improvement over LCP 2
I just bought one yesterday, took it to the range today. 50 rounds of ball and 13HP's and i was very impressed with it, for such a light gun the recoil is very manageable and i was having no accuracy issues. Once i put a few more rounds thru it, i will have a new everyday carry gun.

Thanks for the informative video. I just got this pistol and have only shot other guns a handful of times. I'm using these videos to help familiarize myself with the fire arm so I can feel confident while handling it.
I’m still carrying the original LCP w/a factory 7 round mag & a Hogue grip sleeve to accommodate my XLG hands. Never a single malfunction w/hundreds of rounds of FMJ & HP, but the MAX looks very interesting. Thx for the review, and good to see another leftie shooter.
Same here. Wasn't impressed with the sights on the LCP II for my old eyesight and skipped it. Love my Kimber Micro380 with its large sights but I wouldn't recommend it for pocket carry and use a belt holster only. Going to check out the LCP MAX as I pocket carry a lot.
@@BigFunkyy Appreciate the heads-up. I had to remove & replace a couple frame pins to seat this grip, then soak it in hot water so it would stretch enough to fit. You may be thinking of another kind that just slips on.
Nice video, I just bought that LCP Max a few weeks ago, been to the range with it, yes surprisingly not a big kick, it’s great just around the house when I’m wearing non-jean shorts, very light don’t even know I’m carrying it, when I’m outside and I’m wearing jean shorts or long pants I carry my hellcat with the extended magazine, very comfortable but heavy, I do like the Ruger and I’m glad I purchased it once again just around the house mowing the lawn, I also have the Ruger LC9S, thanks for the video
I own the Ruger Max and the CZ 75 PCR. The CZ is a pleasure to shoot but the Max is my main EDC. It's concealable and with the12 rd mags accurate and reliable. I have shot all kinds of FMJ and Hollow Points and this gun does not malfunction. During warm weather, my ammo is Hornady Gunner and Critical Defense and in winter `it is Federal Hydro Shock Deep and Precision One.
Hornady xtp actually has out performed every other 380 round as far as penetration to fbi spec testing. American gunner has been reported to malfunction a ton in this interesting to hear you run it with no issues. Great little gun.
I had the opportunity to shoot and research other reliable short barrels 380 and I trust Gold Dots, Barnes Tac XPD, Underwood Xtreme Defender and Precision One XTP.
Thank you for a very useful review! I like your style too: no fake excitement or "expertness." You are just a real person, with an excellent hi-res camera, passing on his insights......................elsullo
Ruger changed the game with this. Pocket carry is my preference. Mine runs steel ammunition and aluminum ammunition perfectly. I HAVE NOT ran any jhp through it yet but Remington, Federal,Tula, Winchester,Blazer, and American Eagle fmj run flawless.
The trigger safety is a drop safety. If the pistol is dropped in a muzzle-up configuration, the tabe prevents the trigger moving rearward and, on its own inertia, releasing the sear. It has nothing to do with ensuring a solid trigger pull being needed to fire.
Great info, thanks! I've watched the various reviews on this pistol since it came out. I own the original model Kel-Tec P3AT (or as I say, the gun Ruger copied). I was liking what Ruger did, however with the LCPII. I'm reallhy liking this LCP Max but have been curious as to it's life expectancy. My Kel-Tec has had WAY more rounds through it than they probably figured, but still, maybe 1,000? The take-down pin now tries to work its way out. I "fixed" that but retired it from carry. I hear the original LCP did that too (again, copy). I heard the LCPII was more durable and now I know from your experience that I can expect pretty decent life from the Max. I'm not trading in my Kahr CW380 just yet but I'm feeling better about recommending the Max to a few folks looking for a pocket sized .380 -- again, great work as always!
I just bought one. I had been carrying my original LCP, alternating with a snubbie and a Glock 26. The max is a major upgrade in trigger, as well as sights and capacity. I shift it better immediately. I tried hard to make it fail with a weak grip and it only failed when I held it upside down weak hand with two fingers. Watching you shoot I have a couple of suggestions. One is to bend your knees. I was taught to clench the off hand fist when shooting one handed. This creates sympathetic strength. Also it looks to me like your strong hand thumb was completely off the gun. I understand why you might do this if you got your thumb on the slide lock once.
I’d like to see a version in .32 acp with a lite rack slide or a tip up barrel. It’d be the perfect gun for women and the elderly and it would have a higher magazine capacity than the current .380 version
@@uncleartax here in NJ I think it could gain traction. We’re about to get concealed carry legalized. We also have a ban on carrying expanding ammunition outside the home unless you are hunting or target shooting. 32 ACP is one of the only rounds that doesn’t over penetrate when using FMJ ball ammo. Even though it’s not my first choice, it’s one of the only rounds I’d be inclined to carry in NJ for this reason.
For sure may be the perfect gun for some but still not enough demand. Kel tec came out with the pocket 32 before the 380 but the 380 was the game changer. North American Arms has a proprietary .32 with a quality pocket pistol that is pretty potent if you can find the ammo
I shot steel case in mine the 1st 25 rounds. it failed to put the gun into battery a few times for some reason. but then again the ammo was steel and all i did was just push the slide forward. The ammo was probably 10 years old too. but no problems with aluminum case or anything else. heck could have been me getting use to a new gun or just break in. I'm well pleased with my max and carry it almost exclusively now.
Good video. And it does demonstrate why having a round in the chamber might be of consideration. Even in a demo , the surprise of that first round not happening on the trigger pull is evident. Imagine in a crisis situation. No need to go into the big debate about what’s best. I’ve heard it for 50+ years. My preference is a good kydex custom holster that completely covers the trigger and finger control drills till muscle memory is complete.
@@gregb6469 The supplied factory holster that came with my LCP Max is way too floppy for my liking. About half the time it slips out the pocket still on the gun and then to get to the trigger , it requires off hand help. That delay is way too dangerous for my liking. The kydex holster kicks off with the on hand thumb and I can eject the Max either inside my pocket or outside on the way to aim. Either way , a single hand draw and fire is paramount for me … I have to use a cane in my off hand and the holster is as critical as the gun if not more so. I’m not recommending anyone do as me… but my Max is ready , loaded, chambered, and trigger protected with kydex 😆
I'm thinking I might get this for my night security job for personal protection. I don't want a larger 9mm micro carry gun. Needs be small to conceal in pocket or ankle. Was thinking of the kahr cw380, keltec p3at, and lcp max. See camp but those hard come by
Good insightful review. These compact Ruger pistols are becoming popular carry pistol. I think Ruger should add a Rail trench to attach an illumination device. I'd rather have a 9mm version as to ammo logistics and capability of encounters with apex predatorial animals like Black Bears or Cougars with Underwood's excellent ammunition. Safe journeys and adventures.
@AllOutdoors thanks for the review - have been contemplating this v an OG LCP for pocket carry. Cant help but be attracted the melded frame of the original LCP for pocket. Am not a capacity nut. Curious your take on "pocket-ability" between the two.
The standard LCP still wins. It's thinner overall and a little lighter, but the Max isn't far behind. Maybe the higher sights could be a snag risk if you are coming out of a pocket. Never tested it that way.
I never understood the trigger safety blade thing. It’s almost the entire width of the trigger so anything that could poke in there and accidentally push the trigger would probably push the safety as well.
James I love your review. as a new owner of this gun, what ammo do you recommend for wear and carry? I live in an urban area of the country and i recently got my license to carry in my state.
Reginald, thank you for chiming in. I have a 380 ACP ballistic test playlist that might interest you. If you can find Hornady Critical Defense, that is what I would run, but above all else, a good 90-100 grain load that cycles reliably in your pistol will probably be fine!
Most HPs in this gun are a waste of money, because with its short barrel not enough velocity is generated for the rounds to expand as designed. If you can find some HPs made for short-barrelled guns, great, but they tend to be pricey. Because of the relatively low fps of rounds fired from this gun, over-penetration is not a great concern, so FMJs are a viable carry option (and there is something to be said for carrying the same ammo you target-practice with).
How does the felt recoil in the LCP Max compare to the original LCP .380? I shot the original LCP .380 and it was not comfortable to shoot at all as it genuinely hurt my hand between my forefinger and thumb. For context, I carry a Sig Sauer P365 and I have no issues with shooting the P365.
The Max is definitely going to be lighter than the 365, obviously. It is marginally heavier than the original LCP empty. When loaded fully, it is markedly heavier. The slightly wider grip didn't beat my hand as much as the original narrow LCP grip does. The twelve-round magazines are particularly useful to get a full firing grip. I think the Max will be more forgiving.
@@professorpewpuew Thank you! I appreciate your concise response. I want the LCP Max so I'm just trying to ask as many people as possible. A few people have said it still punches their hand. A couple others have said it's totally fine. I'm a little skeptical on it being just fine.
I just bought the 75th Anniversary edition LCP Max and still trying to figure out what kind of ammo to get for it for cc in car? sug? I'd like to buy a few extra mags also
I actually have some recoil springs on order to do exactly that. But does it immediately effect reliability? I have twice that number of rounds through the original LCP featured in the video and it is still on its original spring.
@@professorpewpuew 2k through lcp1 … very informative i live in the country that hardly find spare parts, even recoil springs. thank you so much for the info.
Did you ever inspect the spent shells to check for flattening on one side? Another shooter showed ejected shells that were all flattened on one side for every brand he could get to test in his handgun. I can't check with mine since I shoot at an indoor range, and cannot get at the spent shells in front of the firing line. I might standing farther back to see if some of the shells land where I can sweep them up to inspect them.
@@professorpewpuew From what spent shells I lookd at (to check on pin drag on the primer), I don't remember seeing dented mouths on the spent shells. It was something someone else here complained about. I'm also experiencing ejection issues. When a live round is in the barrel, and I cycle back the slide to eject the round with the magazine removed (to fully empty the handgun), one of 2 issues happen. One is the round jams in the chamber. I cannot pull the slide further back, because the round is jammed. I have to keep trying to cycle, or push on the round into the chamber while pulling back. The other problem is the round doesn't eject at all. Doesn't get pulled out of the barrel. I have to pull back the slide, and keep jiggling the handgun to get the round to fall out of the barrel which then falls down the magazine well inside the handle. Seems the ejector hook isn't pulling out the round. The ejector hook looks sharp. No deformation or wear. Since my handgun experiences the failure to cycle into full battery (the slide is about a 1/4" back, and has to be pushed forward to go into full battery), perhaps the problem is the ejector isn't fully snapping past the lip at the back of the round to latch onto it. If shells are getting ejected properly could be why their mouths are getting deformed by hitting the ejection port. Note that when I rack the slide to eject a round, I have to be VERY fast on yanking back the slide. On other handguns, I can be moderate to even slow to get the round ejected. On my LCP Max, I have to be very fast, and even then I sometimes get the round stuck in the ejection port (back end of shell hitting back end of ejection port, and bullet tip jammed against barrel). The best but not 100% method is to rack very quickly. Rack normal or slow and the round gets stuck, or doesn't get pulled out of the barrel.
Ive read so many reviews that are fantastic about both this gun and about rugers customer service, Im really leaning towards this for my daily ccw. But I’m also finding a decent amount of people who seem to have trouble with rounds failing or issues with the magazine. I’ve narrowed my choices down to this or a xd9 subcompact. With the Xd9 I can’t seem to find a single person who has any negatives even with years of carry + 1000+ rounds through it , I know it’ll be a little bulkier to conceal and that’s why I’m very interested in this Lcp max. Anyone have experience with both? Going to the local shop next week and can check both for myself and will purchase one. Both are under 400
I would go with a S&W if I gotta another .380 as my lcp 2 the trigger safety began acting up and preventing trigger from being pulled eventually the trigger broke had to have a new trigger installed.
Thanks for the video! I’m new to the firearms world, so please forgive any incorrect terminology. I’ve been looking at the LCP Max; does the lack of a left handed slide release pose any problem for you?
I am uses to hitting the magazine release with the left index finger but the slide release is too stiff to do the same. With a pistol set up like this I don't use thr slide release. I just pull the slide back slightly and let it go to chamber the first round.
Great video. 1000 rounds is an enormous amount in a pocket pistol. I've got about the same in my LCPII with 0 malfunctions firing all sorts of hollow points, FMJ and some Underwood Extreme Defenders. You can see the difference in control between the original and the Max in your video. The extra width and length of the grip gives a more secure grip with less tendency to twist. I noticed a difference going from my original LCP to the LCPII I have. Little differences in grip width and length make a big difference when shooting. However, for me the Max is just too big in the grip. It's actually larger in thickness than my Diamondback DB9 Gen4 and in the DB9 I have 9mm +P. Even when I compare the DB9 to my LCPII there isn't really a reason for me to carry the LCPII anymore. While the DB9 is slightly longer, height wise they're about identical and the DB9 grip is thinner. The downside is felt recoil. The LCPII isn't that bad to shoot for 50-75 rounds. The DB9 is just plain nasty with +P 124 HST. A few mags and your hand is going to know recoil.
Una pregunta tengo tiros igual de 380 de una arma ruger siendo del mismo calibre le queda ? Lo que cambia solo es en la punta de la bala una es chata y otra es redonda saludos
I’m a new shooter and have tried several pocket guns. I have not tried this as it been hard to get in my local gun shop to rent. My question is how does the recoil lcompare to a Bodyguard or the SCCY CPX-3? I currently have a Bursa thunder 380 all steel, bigger and heavy for a deep pocket curry which is what I’m looking for.
The recoil is softer than a Bodyguard and the Bersa, having shot both. I can't say the same for the SCCY, as I never shot one. But the SCCY is a larger pistol. It might soak up the recoil more, but SCCYs quality control is hit or miss. I'll take the Max out of the available options, but the Thunder isn't a bad gun.
I have the LCP Max, Bersa Thunder and Thunder Plus. I put a 13-pound spring and steel guide rod in the Max, reducing recoil. Shoots as smooth as my Bersas.
I never had any interest in small pocket guns but I Inherited my Dads LCP II. I took it out shooting and was very surprised. Little thing shot like a laser beam! I was not expecting the accuracy it had especially since I hadn’t shot a handgun in a long time. If I was in the market for a pocket pistol I would definitely buy one and probably wouldn’t even look at anything else
Years ago, it was considered marginal. Not bad but not good. That might be because it was never a service or duty cartridge here in the US and more at home in pocket guns. I have a bunch of ammo testing videos on 380. Some loads are certainly better than others, but 380 is definitely a viable choice especially if you want something small. It is, the biggest of the small calibers, if that makes any sense.
Look up ..an alternative look at handgun stopping power.. I think that was the title.. a guy took years of info of shootings at emergency rooms.. the 380 ranks near the top at 1 shot stops.. also take your knuckle and lightly hit your ribs.. it hurts a little huh.. now imagine that hitting your ribs at 900 fps.. it would have to hurt like the devil.. a few years ago I did hillbilly ballistics.. I took a 2x4 put a folded carhartt jacket over it and it went through several layers of jacket and the 2x4..
Speer Gold Dots, Hornady Critical Defense Loads, ect. No issues. What you see in the video is mostly Remington and Monarch ball ammo and Ammo Inc. and Federal Hydroshock hollowpoints.
Here is a quick rapid fire shooting demo of the LCP max to show what it's capable of. I hope All Outdoors doesnt mind me posting it here, as I think it will be very helpful for people trying to decide if this is a the right gun for them: ruclips.net/video/N0S-_I7CZ7o/видео.html
I bought the LCP ll 380 during the holidays and recently bought the 75th anniversary stainless steel LCP Max and both are junk... They both shoot low and left 3-5 inches depending on ammo at 5 yards from the bench... Basically means you need to aim at the perps left shoulder to hit center mass sternum at 5 or 7 yards... Plus the Max was graced with or issues the first one didn't have... Now I'm stuck with two garbage guns that need to be sent back to Ruger with no hope that they will actually fix them to shoot POA POI...because this is how they all shoot... So yeah hot garbage 😆👍
Got mine recently, exactly as I was hoping. Still trying to tighten up my aim but it's small and reliable (so far). As a 30 yr foam earplug user I would be remiss if I didn't let you know that you MIGHT not be getting the full protection they can offer. It's an invasive feeling but ideally you will roll them between your thumb and fingers to reduce their diameter, wrap the arm opposite the ear you are inserting the plug into around the back of your head and pull your ear upwards. This will open your ear canal and allow the (now compressed) tube to be inserted deeper. In a few moments the foam will expand to fill the cavity and the sounds around you will fade away. Disregard if you already do this, it looked like one of your plugs was out pretty far. Found a quick video: ruclips.net/video/pN_-2mFtgjs/видео.html
Is that a Honda Fit you are driving? Even less suspicious! No one will know you are a Badass!! My LCP Max is Pink. You would be even less suspicious with one of those.
I have the original LCP and I don’t really like it. I love the size of it but I can hardly hit the paper of the target from 5 yards away. On top of that, the extractor blew apart on me while I had it at the range last week. I hadn’t even shot 100 rounds through it yet. When I get it back from ruger I’m probably going to sell it and buy an LCP Max. It’s kind of disappointing that my LCP is a turd because my Security 9 has been flawless since day one. I’ve shot over 1000 through that ruger with no issues.
I had good luck with my original LCP. Extractors don't usually fail like that unless it was something legitimately missed at the factory. But if you still can't hit with it, its a problem. The only real issue I had with the old LCPs and other small 380s is that they can certainly malfunction if you don't get a textbook grip on it before you start shooting or shooting from an awkward position. I think the Max is a more forgiving gun to get.
@@professorpewpuew My LCP would feed ammo fine up until it broke. Normally I would think that it is my skill severely lacking if I am that terrible at hitting a target with it but none of my friends can shoot well with it either. One of them is in the national guard and he is really accurate with a pistol. I am almost leaning towards my gun has some sort of manufacturing defect that makes it shoot terribly but I could be wrong. I just don’t know what to think with it and that’s why I want to sell it.
@@Pler1978 yea you are right I’m sure. It’s not a huge deal, I didn’t pay all that much for it. I’ll probably just continue to carry it for now. I got it sent out to ruger to have the extractor fixed and they wound up replacing the barrel too for some reason. It said they fired like 70 test shots through it after so there must have been something wrong with it. It seems more accurate now but it still isn’t accurate- the sights are still horrendously off.
I have the LCP ll 380 and the newest iteration 75th Anniversary stainless steel LCP Max and am convinced that they all shoot crappy POA POI... The people making these videos egregiously fail to tell this to people...they are all junk
I can't answer for the Max. I did and still do carry the regular Ruger LCP in jogging pants using a pocket holster. Pretty good for light exercise, walking, and jogging, but I prefer something a little more secure IWB for harder types of training. I don't think an extra 2 ounces will make the Max any worse to carry.
@@jakemoores9641 I live in Florida (I'm from here.) I wear jeans pretty much exclusively. I have worn sweats, but almost never out of the house. I even hike in jeans and outdoor boots. The LCP-MAX is heavy for anything not belt-supported or otherwise firm and snug at the waist. My Kel-Tec P32 is as heavy as I've gone in those sweats or in anything without a belt.
When pocket carrying this gun the dang magazine release keeps releasing the magazine in my pocket and while it's bouncing around from walking the bullet will pop out of the top of the magazine and be loose up inside of the frame. So when you pull gun out you only are going to shoot the one you have in the chamber before spending a bunch of time clearing the mess caused by the magazine release. I've had problems with last round hold open not because of hitting the magazine release with my thumb like 99% of glocktards do, but because of the magazine spring not operating the slide lock.
Most reviews, and my own experiences, indicate that it is very reliable with commonly-available ammunition, perhaps more so than either of its Ruger predecessors.
Mine doesn't like hollow points. Polished the feed ramp but didn't help. Still love the gun tbough. Can carry it in gym shorts without printing. How cool is that.
Mine has not been picky at all. No issues firing factory FMJ and JHP of various makes. It has also fired my hand loads of the same without issues. The slide locks back on empty mags. It rattles and ejects empty brass everywhere, so I named it Rainbird.

Lose the hogue grip... The second that gun gets bloody/muddy that grip is going to spin and give you some real issues.
I carry one myself, just hate the milled sights
@@BigFunkyy Appreciate the heads-up. I had to remove & replace a couple frame pins to seat this grip, then soak it in hot water so it would stretch enough to fit. You may be thinking of another kind that just slips on.

Great info. I wish I’d seen your video before I purchased the S&W M&P EZ .380.
I love the cz50
Hornady xtp actually has out performed every other 380 round as far as penetration to fbi spec testing. American gunner has been reported to malfunction a ton in this interesting to hear you run it with no issues. Great little gun.
I had the opportunity to shoot and research other reliable short barrels 380 and I trust Gold Dots, Barnes Tac XPD, Underwood Xtreme Defender and Precision One XTP.
I carry the same two pistols and mostly the same ammunition. I agree 💯.

Nice to meet you El Sullo. Thank you so much for the kind words. I try.
Nice video. This had everything I wanted to see. Thank you for making it.
The LCPMax is my EDC. 9.4oz unloaded, 15.2oz fully loaded with 13rds of 90gr underwood 380+P, this pistol is like some sort of black magic sorcery.
Be careful, Ruger advises not to use + P ammo
@@EducatedBlackMan ruger's lawyers advise not to use + P ammo
Is it XD or XP?
Great thorough review!
Looks like it held up very well. Great video. 👍
So far it has. It is very excessive by pocket pistol standards.
Theres just not enough users of 32acp to be worth producing a new gun for IMO
@@uncleartax here in NJ I think it could gain traction. We’re about to get concealed carry legalized. We also have a ban on carrying expanding ammunition outside the home unless you are hunting or target shooting. 32 ACP is one of the only rounds that doesn’t over penetrate when using FMJ ball ammo. Even though it’s not my first choice, it’s one of the only rounds I’d be inclined to carry in NJ for this reason.
@@Pler1978 you did, bc you cared enough to reply
@@JohnDoe-eo8ux Did I read that right? A ban on ... self defense... rounds??
The Ruger holster that comes with the gun completely covers the trigger guard.
@@gregb6469
The supplied factory holster that came with my LCP Max is way too floppy for my liking.
I really like your reviews. Thank you
Ruger is always improving
Keeps the trigger from moving back if dropped. Also, if trigger rubbed from the side for any reason (poor fitting holster) it won't go off.
I love mine, but the 12 round mags actually hold 11 and the 10 round mags hold 9. Tring to get 10 or 12 it probably requires a hydraulic press.
Mine was the same way until I ran about 200 rounds through them.
Get one of those Maglulu mag loader devices. With mine I can load the Max mags fully.
Interesting magazine design.
Great job.

Good video, Thanks for the info. I have the original LCP and am thinking about the LCP Max. Is the 12 round mag additional cost post purchase?
The Max is a little easier to shoot but you are already comfortable with a single-stack gun, it might be of limited value.
@@professorpewpuew -- 10 or 12 rounds is ALWAYS better than 6.

do you need to replace a new recoil spring after 1k rounds? ive read somewhere that you should replace a new one after 1k rounds.how do you think?
I actually have some recoil springs on order to do exactly that. But does it immediately effect reliability? I have twice that number of rounds through the original LCP featured in the video and it is still on its original spring.
@@professorpewpuew 2k through lcp1 … very informative
i live in the country that hardly find spare parts, even recoil springs.
thank you so much for the info.
Action type please. Ruger doesn't mention it in their spec sheet.
What you saw could be a one-off. I did inspect my cases from time to time and they fireformed properly.
Both are under 400
I just put up my six month 800rd LCP max review today. Not sure if it'll be as entertaining as yours, but i tried. ;)
I would go with a S&W if I gotta another .380 as my lcp 2 the trigger safety began acting up and preventing trigger from being pulled eventually the trigger broke had to have a new trigger installed.
This gun is EXCELLENT
Nice video. Again.
Nice suspenders. Also nice review. I'm considering one.
when did the goon from the office start looking like he was tough?
Well done my friend, thanks!
It appears Ruger dumped the LCP II 380 in favor of a 22LR version.
I have used aluminum cases in mine, with no issues (100 rds of brazer)
Very nice job.
Only prob i have with lcp is the milled sights. Bought mine a few months before lcp2 came out
Good review, thanks.
Thanks for this comparison.
Good review !
is that a good gun for conceal carry?
How is the felt recoil though? To me, the original LCP's sting too much to want to shoot.
That wider grip make all the difference. It's a bit softer and you won't have to fish around for the right grip.
Good video
Thanks for the video, good sir
I never had any interest in small pocket guns but I Inherited my Dads LCP II. I took it out shooting and was very surprised. Little thing shot like a laser beam! Good video! Thanks.
Is the .380 round really a viable option for self defense? I hear more bad than good about .380
Years ago, it was considered marginal.
Great video!
I have LCP II .22LR and am not sure if it make sense to upgrade to LCP MAX.
Depends on whether you want to stop an assailant, or just irritate him.
I have the lcp 2 not getting rid of it I have the max it is better just had to send it back to Ruger for failure to eject after about 700 rounds.
how many cm is the ruger 380 max friend?
13cm long, 10.5 to 11cm high (depending upon which mag is in it), 2.25cm wide at the grip.
Do you possibly remember the name/brand of the ammo you used?
Speer Gold Dots, Hornady Critical Defense Loads, ect. No issues. What you see in the video is mostly Remington and Monarch ball ammo and Ammo Inc. and Federal Hydroshock hollowpoints.

I believe the trigger is a double action trigger. It is a quick double action.
I EDC the SW bodyguard but may have to get this one cuz of capacity 😳🤣🍺✌️🇺🇸

Thanks.
Oh gee thanks. I hope I didn't bore you too much!
@@professorpewpuew nope, perfect.
Is this thing finicky with ammo?
Most reviews, and my own experiences, indicate that it is very reliable with commonly-available ammunition, perhaps more so than either of its Ruger predecessors.
It has some looser tolerances that seem to help with reliability. It also really flings brass far, at least mine does.
