Ruger's customer service is the best. I had a magazine with a scratch on it when I bought it. I called them up and ask if I could send the scratched one back and the lady told me not to worry about it, they would send me a brand new one. 4 days later I got a brand new one in the mail no questions asked. 14 would be realistic. The CZ82 were available in .380 and .32. The .32 had 15 the .380 13 rounds. The .32 has a semi rim what takes away more space than the caliber diameter has.
I Have owned over a dozen pocket pistols, this is by far my favorite, so reliable, good trigger , good sites, and great accuracy. Sometimes i have to check my pocket to see if its still there lol, so light!
Have had the older 6 mag. for about 8yr. I've got so used to carrying it, I keep it in my drawer with my billfold, and it goes in my pocket when my billfold goes in, love the little gun and its conceal ability, I give it a pat every now and then, to remind it and myself that it's there if needed, good gun good video.
This little pistol is awesome in every way. Tiny, accurate for its size, reliable, great sights, isn't to snappy, recoil is very manageable. 5 out of 5 stars. My one and only complaint is that they should sell it with the 12 round mags instead of 10.
I’ve watched about 6 or 7 different videos on this firearm yours is by far the best…went back to subscribe to your channel and was a bit surprised to see how many subscribers you have but then again I’m not because of how thoroughly your critique your firearms….great job all around…a new fan…👍
@@DreErdna The 32 ACP is accurate and more reliable in my experience. And I've owned and shot many different 32's and 380's. I would pick a 32 over a 380 Everytime if I had to pick one or the other. But my favorite small gun to carry is a S&W J frame revolver in 38 special. They are more powerful than the 32 and 380. And the most reliable of all 3 normally.
Actually I think Glock might be the next in the .380 high caps. The G42X could be a thing. Nah. Jk. Glock will never do anything innovative again lol And im a glock guy.
@@11spitdms agreed. We wanted a G19 size grip with a G17 barrel length...what'd they give us? A G19 barrel length with a G17 size grip 😂😂 the exact opposite of what we wanted. Now ppl want the G43 (the original version) to have this same style of truncated mags that allow more capacity...crickets. shield arms makes a magazine for the G43X that's based on that same design idea and takes your capacity from 10rds to 15rds. By that math, they (shield arms) could make a 11/12rd magazine for the G43 just by doing the same thing they did for G43X mags...Glock? Crickets. If I didn't have so much invested in the G19/G26 platforms (as the G26 is interchangeable with G19 parts/holsters/backup mags/etc) between my winter/summer carry options...I'd have left glock long ago. As it stands Now, I don't see myself going any other direction. But, again, it isn't for lack of desire to move toward these new micro 9's & .380's...I'm just heavily invested in the G19/G26 platform for carry. Hope Glock does something cool soon; because they're getting dusted in the world of innovation
G42-am i a joke to you? Been cc my g42 for over 7 years. Still choose it over my p365. G42 is the best .380 shooter on the market since it first came out. So smooth and easy to shoot and cc. I've shot all the micro .380 already. they were all snappy as hell except the g42.
This gun is really revolutionary. 10.6oz unloaded weight (with mag) for a gun that can hold 13 rds of 380+P (15oz fully loaded). As a guy who lived in the era when a .32 secamp was the ne plus ultra of pocket pistols and cost an astronomical amount of money with a wait time of over a year to acquire.....just absolutely amazing how far the LCP max has come.
@@skowmi5681 The FACT is that I and others have been shooting +P ammunition through Ruger LCPs since they came out. And there are countless videos of people doing it on youtube, with no ill results. Now shush karen, no one cares.
I picked one up at my LGS today. Immediately took it to the range and put a box of over-priced WWB ball through it. Point of impact was a little low at 6 yards but not enough to matter on a gun like this. I'll start pocket carrying this over my Kahr CW380.
@@craigholcombe1901 What do you mean? They've been making 32 versions of the exact same gun for 40 years: brick meets plastic handle. It's like a Toyota: ugly as sin but it works. I've been talking about this idea for about 2 years, just didn't think ruger would beat sig to it. Can't imagine how anything could top this in this category.
Picked up mine a couple weeks ago... LOVE IT! I have managed to put 100 rounds through it (yes I had to break into my back stock but it is worth it) and I am very happy with its performance. I was seriously thinking LCPII, they are a bit skinny in the hand but appealing none the less. I am glad I waited long enough for this come out! The grip is wider, and fits my hand, and several others I have show this too, very nicely. The 10 round mag is supplied with a flush mount base plate, I did swap it our for the supplied finger rest base plate and it works just perfectly for me! I wear Wrangler jeans pretty much always, and the front right pocket works for carry, its comfortable while I am in a vehicle, or at my desk. I forget its there when I'm at the grocery store ect. Empty weight, with holster, is 11.68 oz. Add the 10 + 1 rounds, I see 15.34 oz on my digital kitchen scale. I'm thinking I will get a 12 round mag later on, but frankly the 10 round fits my needs well!
Follow-Up... So I have been pocket carrying this beauty for about 18 months now. I have put over 800 rounds through it, now use the 12 round mag full time, with the 10 round as back-up. Late last year, I picked up a nifty little OWB holster from Tactical Scorpion Gear, TSG-LCP2-2 (option 2), it's for the LCPII, and the LCP Max fits in this awesome holster perfectly! The supplied, "tuck-it-in" style paddle is a bit difficult for me, but the belt attachment works flawlessly! I dont OWB the pistol ofetn, but when I do this one is perfect! I replaced the stock holster back in June with one from Galco, PRO836B, and absolutely love this holster! Should have done it long ago! For pocket carry, I still believe that this pistol is the best option out there!
I'm just waiting for 9 to make is back to normal and I think that'll signal that 380 is back in the pipeline. May end up with one of these babies before that though...
Great pocket carry gun, totally concealable. The soft holster they send with the gun works, stays in the pocket and the pistol comes out. Can't beat it for the price
I never understood why people cry about a takedown tool. Your EDC should contain a pocket knife of some sort, and thats a big reason why you have it. Emergency situations.
Love my new LCP max, picked it up a few days ago, my local dealer sells them for $355 out the door! I also bought two 12+1 mags to go with it. Can’t wait to let this baby eat.
Very nice review... I like the gun, but being a Small Framed person I went with the LCP2 just because of size. I know these are very close, but that small difference between the LCP2 and the LCP Max in the 380 is paramount to being totally hidden and comfortable, especially while using the Recluse Holster! I really love the LCP Line and I hope Ruger continues to support it... The Only issue I ever had was reinstalling the return spring.... It can shoot that rod into eternity... LOL, When I put the Return spring and Rod back into the gun after cleaning I point the pin to myself so it does not get away from me..... Again! LOL! Great video, Enjoyed it. 2 Thumbs up!
I bought this pistol today. $375 out the door. Already ordered the 12 round mag to go with it. I’ll be running a box of FMJ and critical defense through it to see how it runs. It fits in my LCP 2 Desantis and Alabama holsters and man I’m excited to have this pistol for CCW. I can’t always conceal my G43 so this sized pistol is a must for me. The LCP 2 has served me well and I know this one will too. As far as the 380 debate goes, modern rounds for self defense, to include Critical Defense, Spear Gold Dot, and HST are getting 10-12” of penetration from all of the vids I’ve seen. I have no reservations about carrying the 380. My wife also carries a Springfield 911 in 380
They could make the max as a .32 and it would hold 14 or 15 or more in the magazine. The keltec holds 7 of .32 and 6 of the .380. So the 12 round .380 would easily hold 14 of .32 maybe 15. Heck....ill test it in a few days. I wrote ruger to make the 1911. 45 and they did ...i think my video i make will convince them to make it. Underwood .32 ammo is no joke at all. Super deadly.
Excellent review! I was unable to fire as many rounds through my Max as you did in your intro before my trigger finger started to blister from the trigger well pinch. I have the Mcarbo flat trigger on order and can't wait to train with this weapon again, because otherwise I love it.
I hope a lot of women buy this for their purses or handbags. Remember…… keep shooting till the threat is down.!! With this many rounds in this small package……. Golden!!
It replaced mine today. Funny it kind of reminds me of my .380 Grendel P-10 and more so with the P12 I had in the late 80s/early 90s. People act like double stack .380 is new it’s really not
🤣🤣 that C note sound. I almost didn’t buy it because that sound, however I’m so glad I did!! It also made my wife comfy with the… always carry mentality. So compact and ease of shooting 👌🏻💯
I still carry my Gen 1 with the original long pull. I did have to replace the guide rod and spring because the original lost its strength after 14 years. But I confess, I did buy this new LCP max as a back up!
Finally got one a couple days ago and fired 100 rounds through it. I developed a blood blister on my trigger finger because of the trigger safety. Not a big fan so far. I do like the extra fire power over my 6+1 bodyguard. Its NOT a range gun. Lol

14 would be realistic. The CZ82 were available in .380 and .32. The .32 had 15 the .380 13 rounds. The .32 has a semi rim what takes away more space than the caliber diameter has.
I can't even find .32 where I live, I asked one store and the guy said he hasn't seen any in years lmao
Have you tried ordering online
Ruger is on a roll! Good for them. 👍
I Have owned over a dozen pocket pistols, this is by far my favorite, so reliable, good trigger , good sites, and great accuracy. Sometimes i have to check my pocket to see if its still there lol, so light!
Just picked one of these up about 2hrs ago along with a couple 12rd mags 👍
I have one too. My factory provided 10 round magazine won't hold the slide open on the last round. The 12 rounder works perfectly.
Concealability is one word.......
Finally. Now make it in 32 acp and keep it as thin as the original with 10 round capacity.
I'm a big fan of the 32 ACP round. I've owned and carried several over the years. I like the 32 over the 380. The 32 is very underrated now a days.
@@shadowwolf2524 y
@@DreErdna The 32 ACP is accurate and more reliable in my experience. And I've owned and shot many different 32's and 380's. I would pick a 32 over a 380 Everytime if I had to pick one or the other. But my favorite small gun to carry is a S&W J frame revolver in 38 special. They are more powerful than the 32 and 380. And the most reliable of all 3 normally.
@@shadowwolf2524 interesting. I guess I’ve learned don’t ignore a caliber. Thank you for your response! Any specific JFrame u could point me too?
Know this little gun is going to be popular. Love seeing our factory location on these. We take pride in our guns.
Bring on the high capacity pocket 380s. Who’s next, S&W Bodyguard?
Actually I think Glock might be the next in the .380 high caps. The G42X could be a thing.
Nah. Jk. Glock will never do anything innovative again lol
And im a glock guy.
Glock never listens to their customers.
@@robl884 you aren’t wrong
@@ironmikehallowween I wish I was lol
Love the mag dumps, one handed even. Showing the ease of firing the weapon under stress. Well done.
Lol under stress
This is the type of pistol so many have been waiting for, FINALLY!
LCP Max is not rated for +P ammo.
@@skowmi5681 And there he is!
People need to know the facts! Not your views!
@@skowmi5681 The FACT is that I and others have been shooting +P ammunition through Ruger LCPs since they came out. And there are countless videos of people doing it on youtube, with no ill results.
Now shush karen, no one cares.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oof, I feel and understand that all too well! Lol
Me too
Same! Haha
don't you mean against you?
I picked one up at my LGS today. Immediately took it to the range and put a box of over-priced WWB ball through it. Point of impact was a little low at 6 yards but not enough to matter on a gun like this. I'll start pocket carrying this over my Kahr CW380.
Finally Ruger is waking up!
They merely beat the other guys to the punch. There will be 4 or 5 more within a year.
Whens glock going to wake up
@@craigholcombe1901 They’re getting left behind.
@@craigholcombe1901 What do you mean? They've been making 32 versions of the exact same gun for 40 years: brick meets plastic handle. It's like a Toyota: ugly as sin but it works.
One day, maybe next week, they'll come out with Gen 6 changing almost nothing yet again. Gosh it's been a couple years since Gen 5, and 4 years since Gen 4. Their innovation is really hard to keep track of.
I have the LCP MAX also and I love it !
I've been talking about this idea for about 2 years, just didn't think ruger would beat sig to it. Can't imagine how anything could top this in this category.
No Sootch, that's a 100% increase. 9 would be a 50% increase.
Yep
2nd
I also came here to nerd out and say the same lol
Yeah, he should've said 50% difference.
Like climate change instead of global warming. Get the verbiage down so you're right, even when you're wrong.
Snarky and Snootch!
I am with the word police.
You owe me $500 dollars for your mistaken spelling of nonetheless.
It is all one word, not three separate.....
Got this for my wife , her carry was a springfield 911 in 380..... she fell in love with the ruger max.
Been waiting for ruger’s next LCP offering. Nice to see higher capacity and nicer sights! 👍
_This is exactly what I conceal carry, it's very comfy as well_
I’m gonna need to get one! I already have LCP2 in .380 and in .22lr. Fun guns! Gotta get a LCP Max!
Excellent pocket carry, recently bought one of these and tested it at the range today. Great close quarters weapon.
Definitely a market for small handguns like this. Great review and well done Ruger 👍🏻
An EDC that doubles as a pitch pipe!
I'm just glad people are bringing back pocketable double stack 380 ACP pistols again. An elegant weapon, for a more civilized age.
Beretta made a nice double stack .380 acp
I believe my SMITH &WESSON BOBY GUARD IS ON LIFE SUPPORT
Don’t say that, I just bought mine! 😅
@@MrAlexito305 enjoy there fine firearms
Thanks for the extensive review of the new LCP Max in .380 caliber. Will be a great personal EDC option once 5he ammo shortages settles.
You don't sit there and field strip your main gun, you just pull out the back up and continue where you left off
Except it’s a little plastic pin that would vanish from the face of the earth if I were to strip the gun in low light conditions. 😁
Right. I carry a pocket knife and a leatherman for edc. So good to go.
Love my new LCP max, picked it up a few days ago, my local dealer sells them for $355 out the door! I also bought two 12+1 mags to go with it. Can’t wait to let this baby eat.
Anyone else her say "Well imma have to buy this now" only to realize you couldn't do that for the last 10 releases 😂
I went and bought the Ruger LCP Max 380 today . Got it home cleaned it up going to shoot it this weekend.
Oh yea this is definitely going to have to be my first ruger!
600+ rnds through my lcp max and one failure to go to battery on my second magazine. This pistol is a game changer.
I will carry .380 all day long. Just bought this today it was the last one in stock. No holster required, no belt. Makes carrying much easier.
never carry without holster. Very dangerous for AD.
I just got the max9 and have had my lcp2 for a year. I really like my lcp2 but wish I had more capacity. Ruger just take my money lol
lcp2 is a good affordable cc gun no doubt. Overall performance and usability and shootability, g42 takes the lead.
My wife also carries a Springfield 911 in 380
Ruger is really stepping up its game with these. I own the LCP II...soooo easy to pocket carry. I will definitely be buying the LCP Max.
Come on Ruger, we need a LCP .32! 10 round single stack in .32 would be sweet!
I'd would love to see Ruger make a 32ACP compact and larger "Security" version. I have both LCP and LCP max pistols and I love them.
Watched pretty much all the different channels reviews of this firearm. Yours is by far the most thorough and in depth. Thank you.
Most likely theyll be another mag exstention by others or magazines with more rounds. Looks nice
A 12rd options is already going to be available.
A 12 round factory mag is sold separately for $30.
I like that they continued the design from the grip to the mag on the 12 round
not sure why people care so such for mag extension? It defeats the purpose of cc. It just makes it harder to cc. Redundant imo.
@@troytruong8246 yeah. Idk. I feel perfectly safe and well armed with 6+1 and one extra mag.
Excellent review!
I was unable to fire as many rounds through my Max as you did in your intro before my trigger finger started to blister from the trigger well pinch. I have the Mcarbo flat trigger on order and can't wait to train with this weapon again, because otherwise I love it.
With the original trigger, do you feel it pinch with every pull or is it something you don't notice until after alot of rounds?
We are in the golden age of firearms.

Yeah 1 dollar a round is bs. I've found more 380 but I wasnt going to pay those prices.
I hope a lot of women buy this for their purses or handbags.
Remember…… keep shooting till the threat is down.!! With this many rounds in this small package……. Golden!!
Well, my .380 bodyguard is about to get replaced by the LCP Max. 10 rounds of .380 acp is better than 6 in the magazine.
bodyguard is not a good shooter. Not sure why it sells.
It replaced mine today. Funny it kind of reminds me of my .380 Grendel P-10 and more so with the P12 I had in the late 80s/early 90s. People act like double stack .380 is new it’s really not
@@2fargonedaytona128 it is new because it is in a micro subcompact form. That is why.
@@troytruong8246 well, again “micro subcompact” is not new either. You ever seen or had a Grendel?
Either way splitting hairs I like my new Ruger LCP max
🤣🤣 that C note sound. I almost didn’t buy it because that sound, however I’m so glad I did!! It also made my wife comfy with the… always carry mentality. So compact and ease of shooting 👌🏻💯
I might change with this one. For 40 years I've carried and love a PPKS but with the extra rounds one wouldn't have to carry another mag!!
I still carry my Gen 1 with the original long pull. I did have to replace the guide rod and spring because the original lost its strength after 14 years. But I confess, I did buy this new LCP max as a back up!
Ruger has been killing it.
💯💪😎
90 percent of my needs have been taken care of by Ruger and Springfield over the last 5 years.
Finally got one a couple days ago and fired 100 rounds through it. I developed a blood blister on my trigger finger because of the trigger safety. Not a big fan so far. I do like the extra fire power over my 6+1 bodyguard. Its NOT a range gun. Lol
This was a great video as usual Sootch! Just when I think I got every base covered this beauty comes out👍 this is a legit "Game Changer" for deep concealed carry.
Have the Custom that has always served me well. Couldn't say no to get the Max for $255. Stainless slide also.
This is very cool definitely a worthwhile upgrade from a standard LCP.
you need to throw your lcp away. Old and outdated. lol
