I have a 2019 ford edge and a buddy installed the wiring harness for a trailer hitch and ever since then I've had this parking fault error and it has to do with the rear (Only does it when you put it in reverse). The dealership said they won't touch it because it's corroded and they said it would be $740 to fix it. They said the thing was unplugged. So I'm sure my buddy just forgot to plug it back in cause it was working fine before that. I'm hoping with the help of this video I can locate and fix it myself. Thanks for the video!
Hopefully it helps, the sensors are pretty cheap to buy if one does need replacing, dealership wanting to charge $740 is ridiculous
@@theoddjobs3749 Heck yeah it is. They said the whole wiring needs to be changed to because it's all corroded so that's why it's so much money. I can't see replacing all the wiring. That's just ignorant and a huge waste of money.
@@viprgaming641 they just seem to want the easiest path to fixing it , problem with modern day mechanics (not all) they would rather replace rather than diagnose and fix

I had it in the shop for something else and I asked them if they could just plug the sensor wire in because I'm sure we just forgot to plug it back in when we did the trailer lights so they did and it's working fine. And they were going to charge me $740? Unbelievable
My ford kuga started doing this other day but only randomly. I tested all sensors and they all show obstacles but then next time its telling me to get serviced or randomly no sound but detecting still. Think all the grit on roads is blocking them vibrating randomly. Gonna try clean them then seal them up better as you can see wires if you climb under back. 2 on the back been peeling for 6 month n i did also drive through flood for fun 😂😂😂😂
I often drive through flood water given half the chance, hope it helps by cleaning them, it worked for me a few times until one finally packed up and had to change it

Great video. Reverse chimes and alerts are out on my escape, but its not showing message. Camera works, but no alert. ???
Not heard of that before, possibly turned off in the settings ?
Mine parking sensors switch stay on? What causes that and it show on the dash parking still come up? I need help on this?
I’m not sure buddy, you mean they make a noise even when you are not close to anything ? If this is the case it could have dirt caught on the sensors or faulty sensor
What happens if none of them click when your testing them?
It would be very unlikely that all have failed ( I could be wrong) but I would check the wiring loom and connections to make sure that they are connected properly first, then I would check the fuses to make sure it hasn’t blown
@@theoddjobs3749 ideal thanks! Managed to get them to work. One was unplugged/is loose so won't plug in properly. So I can get it to work until it falls out again. But the clicking is super super faint. Is loud for like 1 second then goes faint.
@@willsvanadventures the clicking isn’t loud, it’s hard to hear unless you almost have your ear directly next to them

They can buy caked in crud, it doesn't matter, they are sealed. These sensors just fail and need to be replaced.
yeah that's what fooled me, I thought cleaning them helped at first but it just masked my faulty sensor which I explained at the end, I will always just buy new from now and save myself the time 😂

what year is yours ? does it also have front sensors ?

i got same error msg in dash board...Parking Aid Malfunction service required. mine ford focus 2012... rear sensor have problm
£247 quoted for replacement. sensors you get for 10 to 15£ each in online 😂😢😅...wht to do
