Cheers George, i've been round the houses fixing a problem on my E70. Some sensors had a continuous tone but no error codes. This might help someone else. Worth checking 3 things: 1) Error codes then listen to the sensor, it should click but either way better just to replace. 2) The little rubber seal is called a de-coupling ring and if it's broken or missing will cause issues 3) Water ingress likely caused by pressure washers as BMW recommends they're used no closer than 10cm on the sensors. As you say a dab of WD40 should help. Hope that helps someone else.
Hi George, thank you for this video ! I have change 2 parking sensor with exactly same reference as the other two but now, my car is not making any noise when I put the gear in reverse ... Is it necessary to reset error codes with an OBD ? (I have a BMW 320D E46)
I have a Dodge Ram truck where the front sensors stop working completely and I am trying to troubleshoot the system to see if it is the wiring or the sensors…. Your a Big help I will see if My sensors are the issue and not the wiring…… Thank You!!!!
Hi mate, thx! If one is at fault....do the other 3 refuse their function somehow? Is this a “in series” problem or the computer disabling the signal, cause it misses 1 input out of 4?
If one is faulty, the whole system will stop working to let you know that one is faulty. The last thing you want is not being aware that the Right sensor is broken and drive into something because the car didnt beep
Hi mate I've got the 325i exact same issue but when I scan it comes up with no error codes. Is there a specific part within the diagnostics that I have to scan. Many thanks.
After a heavy rainfall, rain seems to get inside the sensors and causes them to malfunction . A Couple of days of warm weather direct sunlight usually fixes the issue or you can do what I did.. I used a portable vacuum (18v Milwaukee) I put the hose on the blower side of the vacuum and used a crevice attachment (this increases the speed of the air) and aimed it at each sensor while varying the angle of directed air and it worked. No direct contact between the vacuum attachment and car panels/bumbers.
This is exactly what I’m experiencing right now. I just had a bad rainstorm last night and my front sensor is going off only when I put my car in reverse which was strange. Thank you so much for your comment.
Can someone please help me. My sensors are working intermittently. One moment they will act normal then the next time they will been continuously then another time they will do the close rapid beeping. Now all of this will happen when I’m not near any thing
Parking sensors can collect dust and dirt and moisture over time, but I would highly recommend to NEVER spray a substance like WD40 on it. WD40 contains oils and other substances that will cause more dirt, dust and rubbish to collect on your parking sensor. It may fix it, for a very short time, but it will collect crud and fail. If you must spary them to clean them, Isopropyl alcohol is the only thing you should use. Other than that, compressed air, just blowing out the sensor is the best way so you don't get residue from WD40 or similar on them.
@@GeorgeAusters Contact cleaner is for electrical items and dries out any water and leaves no residue due to it being a solvent, WD40 is a temp fix that'll end up killing them altogether.

My Ford Mondeo 2010 has the same beeping sound and not working last few months. It was previously working brilliantly
Were you able to fix it?? Mine are completely turned off now on there own 😭😭😭
@@Babyblu2144 Depends what I am getting in return
@@Tahsin_Hussain in return??
Damn so nice having that black pice i have a e90 somehow the 40 to 90s they made the pastic thinner😂
Ignition on in reverse then do a recording of each sensor on your phone and play it back, it makes a funny noise!!, so you’ll know witch one is gone.

if you put your finger over the sensors you can actually feel if the sensor is working, or you can bend down and you should be able to hear it working
Not on older models, they’ll all stop working once one goes down
Hi, if one is not working can I just disconect it and will it work with 3 sensors?
Some cars work from some but others will not work at all if one or more is down
Thanks! Mine does exactly the same. Will do a scan as well.
It looks on mine that the cover one one sensor has come off
would a electrical spray cleaner also do
No
Thanks buddy will get wd40 tomorrow 👊👊
Just put your ear to them if there working your hear a clicking sound
Most of the time yes, however the faulty one was actually still ticking this time👍🏻
Mine were all ticking even tho one was faulty
but not saying the listening method doesn't work, but its not 100% reliable

Did this 3 years ago and been great ever since👍🏻
I thought the beep was indicating that they were turning on
No
Did you try the WD40 trick first?
Yes
Even with them they still scrap your bumbers at the super market
Think you need hearing aids mate
@@Tom-yu1fc not if you're not sitting in your car
👏👍
Thanks as always bro🙌🏼
why use 1 word when you can use 20??
Spray with WD40 Contact cleaner yes, original WD40 no.
No actual WD40 to remove the water

20k around the corner boss
That’s it mate 👀

I guess I could just not talk at all like half the other youtube videos..
