You wouldn’t believe. I sold my Hyundai Tuscon to a dealer yesterday. The car hasn’t been collected yet and still in use. Guess what!? The parking sensors stopped working on the day I sold it!!! Just used your WD-40 trick and they are working perfectly again. Cannot believe what I am seeing! Thanks a lot!
I used a portable vacuum (18v Milwaukee) I put the hose on the blower side of the vacuum and used a crevice attachment (this increases the speed of the air) and aimed it at each sensor while varying the angle of directed air and it worked. No direct contact between the vacuum attachment and car panels/bumbers.
Honestly I've been chasing a supposedly bad rear sensor on my 09 Ford Smax, computer said it was the rear right sensor, removed it and swapped it with the working left rear, same thing.
Chased the cabling all the way to the sensor control module and tested everything for continuity... All fine.
So i be assumed I'll need a new control module at 225 quid from ford.... Balls.
Sat in the bath hunting for other fixes, came across this video.
Doused all the sensors in wd40, wiped and doused again.... Put her in reverse.....bugger me it works.
I can't believe this fix works.
Thank you so very much!
Worked straight away on my Vauxhall Mokka CDTi. No more annoying flatline beep. Amazing, thanks 😊
Been dealing with this issue for several months now on my Buick Lucerne. Thought i was going to have to get new sensors ..This worked for me instantly. Thanks champ 💪🏾
This worked on a 22 Black Edition Ridgeline, thanks! Front passenger side sensor stopped working properly after a rainstorm but the driver side worked still. All work as intended now!
Great tip, I own Vitara 2018 and facing same problem, I visited Suzuki 3S and they asked $ 206 apart of labor charges with one day vehicle to be parked in garage. Really thankful to you man. Zee Zee Pak
Welcome man!
I was very skeptical of this but decided to try it on my 07 Silverado. My wife had washed my truck and I had not driven it for 3 weeks since I was away for work. When I turned it on I found the Service Park Assist message and found my sensors were not working. When I saw the price for each was over $200 I said what the heck, it can't get worse. But to my surprise after spraying all 4 of them with WD40 and turning on my Silverado, the sensors started working and the message no longer came back. Thanks for the trick!!
You’re very welcome Edward, glad to help with your truck!
Just tried it on my Volvo S60 and it worked on a sensor that was cutting in before anything was there, brilliant.
What a simple trick! It worked on my 2008 Toyota Sequoia instantly. It has been fussy this winter. I tried washing and drying the front sensor, thinking it just got a bit dirty without success and the new sensors are very spendy. I sprayed it liberally with WD40 and the sensor alarm went away immediately. Thanks George.
Glad it helped!
Just tried on Astra. Works a treat. Thank you
Thanks for this information. I was reversing yesterday (23.12.22), watching the camera in the car. Unfortunately my sensors wasn't working, I was relying on them (beeping) there was no beeping. I hit a car bumper.
Thank God nothing serious happened, not even a scratch. The lady was very very furious 😡I told her sorry a million times..
Told me she was going to ring the police. She took photos of my car and I did the same.
I'll certainly use the WD40 to clean my sensors.
Thank you V much.
Thanks a million, this really helped me. I was so annoyed when they stopped working!
You are absolutely a legend. I had for a month this problem and the things you said made sense for my problem, fixed it. Thank you
Great to hear!
Hey there! Hitting you up from the US, I just did this on my wife's 2012 Ford Focus and it worked like champ! I used Tool Box Buddy spray fluid rather than WD-40 but they're all pretty similar. Sprayed it down, cleaned it up and waited a while to let it work. Tried it a couple of hours later and the problem was fixed. On the Focus the sensor made a continuous beeping sound rather than the repetitive chirp and now it functions like new. Thanks for the post, I'm sure the shop would've charged me at least $200 for that.
Glad to help! Considering supporting the channel to show your appreciation
Land Rover wanted £450 to replace my sensors. WD40 fixed them in 10 seconds . SUPERB CHEERS
You owe me £449.99
We've got 2 cars with the same problem, your method worked on one but not the other. Thanks for that, much appreciated :)
Glad to help!
Hi! just uploaded a video that might help you with the 2nd car ruclips.net/video/myrVE_xwZOI/видео.html
Did this on my challenger, just went and washed my car and my sensors stopped working , went and bought the WD-40 and it worked.
Glad to help!
WD 40 is lubricant...?
@@gursimransekhon688 that's a misconceptions actually. If you truly need a good lubricant, WD-40 is not it. It frees up squeaky hinges and rusty threads, etc, but that's not as much from lubrication as it is Water Displacement (product stands for Water Displacement - 40th Formula). Draws moisture out, thus helping prevent/fix rust or in this case, clear up a sensitive electronic sensor.
Why does this happen after a car wash? This just happened to me as well I’m on my way to buy wd-40
I honestly cannot believe that worked. My Model S's sensors started going bonkers the other day after a wash and I tried this hack and boom lol. Saved me hundreds... thank you!
Glad it helped.. Consider donating to the channel!
Mate , my Jag xf parking sensors stopped working properly the rear ones , I said to my Mrs , I will give it ago , it only bloody worked, top man thanks 🙏
You’re welcome!
I try it this morning due to ice build up on top of the sensor it works...very informative thank you so much brother...God bless...
You’re welcome!
Amazing ! Here I am getting ready to pull my front bumper and I stumbled on this video. IT WORKED!!
You’re welcome!
Did this on my 18’ Cadillac Escalade and it worked immediately! Thanks for the post! Front and rear sensors were not working at all prior to this.
Glad to help!
Hi bro,did it work for you? I am yet to try this.hope this will work, to fix this at the service center will cost an arm and leg.
OMG! I tried it on my ford s-max rare parking sensor! Now it's working again like a charm! Thanks for this fantastic tip! Cheers
You're welcome! .
Thank you, this really works, tested on Peugeot 508 SW 2015! Haven't drove our car for 6, 7 days. Car was outside under the car cover and past 6, 7 days we had all kidns of weather condition: snow, rain, light winds, up to -8 Celsius over the night, few sunny days.... Yesterday decided to take out cover from the car, it was below 0 Celsius and because of rain, snow, sun and cold, there was a lot of snow on the top od car cover and car cover was like a cardboard paper almost completely glued to the car. We had to use a lot of water temperature around 25 Celsius (never use hot water, glass could easily brake if it's really cold outside!) to "soften" the car cover. Finally we did it, car cover was removed. Some half an hour later tried to start the car, it started without a problem but on the main screen car gave us a worning that something is in front of car but in front of the car there was nothing at all. At first we thought some of the parking sensors on the front of the car got faulty. We took a short drive and every single time we stopped car gave us a working that something is in front of the car really close, it was so anyoing. Did some research and found your video on RUclips so decided to give it a chance. My WD40 bottle was almost empty so I had to use something else: cheap W5 lubrication spray from LIDL, not as good as WD40 but I had nothing to loose. I've sprayed all parking sensors in front and on the back of the car two times each, it was still cold outside, left it to soak for a half an hour. Started the car and: voila, no more parking sensors warning! Wife did a few circles around the car, 50cm to 20cm from each parking sensor, to test if all car sensors are working propperly and they did, problem solved! Guess some amount of ice formed around one of few front parking sensors, they were "thinking" there is a close obstacle in front of the car. All in all problem solved, no more parking warnings yesterday or today, hope it will stay that way. You've earned yourself one more sub, thanky you!
Worked like a charm on my A6! 👍
Tried and proven worked! Thanks loads! One of my sensors have been crazy beeping when there is nothing near it for a while now. Now it's working as it should. Thanks again!
You’re welcome!
Im having the same case at my front right sensor. It's so annoying. I'll try with WD40 today.
You have solved in 5 minutes, thanks to your video, the problem I had with the sensors of my Mercedes CLS W219 !!!! THANKSSSSSSS 😎🤟
Glad to helpn
Great tip! Also you should spray WD40 on the spray bottle trigger.
Thanks man! You made my day ! It was super sensitive for many months and now it works as it should! God bless you
Glad to help!
When it rains here, mine will trigger when someone even thinks of crossing the sidewalk in front of me. Very annoying. I need to try this
Worked like a charm. I had given the tailgate a quick spritz with hose the day before . Lesson learned .
Thanks 1.9 Trillion👍
No worries Larry you’re welcome!
Spot on. 2014 ford Cmax with "Parking Aid malfunction. Service required" message. Spayed the rear bumper sensors with WD40 some crud also came out. But back to normal working. Great fix. Thanks for posting this video. How many drivers have put their car into the Ford service centre without trying this hack?
Glad to help! Yep dealers will be replacing the sensors at your expense before trying this trick!
Many thanks for this it’s worked!! I came across this when looking for a video on how to remove my bumper thinking I need to replace the two which weren’t clicking, but all working fine now!
Glad to hear Neil!
THANK-YOU! That sensor alarm was driving me crazy when I backed up. I must have had water in there after I washed my truck. This worked on my 2014 Nissan Frontier.
Glad it helped
this didn't work initially but after letting it sit for 10 minutes and giving it another blast of WD it did. Thank you!
Good stuff.. No worries you’re welcome!
Dear George! Many thanks for your video and your know how, you saved my money (EUR 180,00). I've had the same problem with my VW Tiguan, the dealer changed the sensor a month ago, after one day with snow and water on the highway, the problem was the same. Now it works!!!!! Thank you very much, Andi
Welcome man!
Just did it on my 2020 Iveco Daily. Worked like a charm. THANK YOU so much!!
You're welcome!
Brilliant ! WD40 trick worked instantly to fix the problem on my 2016 Octavia estate. Many thanks!
You’re welcome!
My Hyundai ix20 sensors were on permanently (no beeping). Was going to take it to the main dealer and expect a huge bill as usual. Saw your video and hey presto, worked like a charm. Thank you for the video.
Glad to help Mark!
Main dealer would have charged you to replace all the sensors plus diagnostics
Brilliant, simple fix, red light on one rear sensor every time it rained, VW Golf mk 6, one quick spray and fixed ..... thank you.
Glad it helped
That WD-40 trick worked for me on my 2013 Cadillac XTS. 👌🏽
tried and worked, unbelieving, you are genius! Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Best quick fix ever! Thank you 😀
Going to give this a try tomorrow my parking sensors went quieter then they now don’t bleep at all
Wow so simple! Was very sceptical that this would work but IT DID! Thanks very much for info
You're welcome!
after an awful snow storm my car started doing this hopefully it works
Update: problem is gone I have a Dodge Durango works like before thanks 🤩
Thanks for the valuable tip- Had problems with the camera in the back of the car-- did not work at all- used WD40- after 1 hour it worked perfectly again. 6 euros for WD40- we saved at least 500 euros on your tip.
You’re welcome!
Thank you very much. My Vauxhall Mokka was giving "Parking Assist Temporarily Unavailable" and giving a loud Bong sound every time I started the car and every time I came to a halt. It was driving me nuts. I sprayed WD40 into the sensors but it did not fix the issue straight away. However the next morning it was working perfectly.
Yeah can take a while to drive any water out👍🏻
Washed the car, new car, after two days censor would not work followed your instructions and wow!they are now working Thank You
You’re welcome Linda!
Thanks with regards
I tried this as my sensors were continually beeping but it didn't fix them. But then a few days later they started working again, thanks for the tip!
You’re welcome!
My reversing sensors stopped working, didn't even know about the switch to turn it on/off, I had caught it by accident and switched it off, thinking how much this will cost to repair, so a great bonus to turn it off and everything worked again. Thank you.
You’re welcome Lee!
What a pointless reply
@@lukewilson2567LOL at least he didn’t spend hundreds to diagnose, and thousands to replace parts….
Great video as always George, thanks for sharing!
Worked on my Ford Ranger. The night before was a deluge of rain, had an issue with the passenger rear reverse parking sensors. After a quick blast of WD40 and waited a few minutes and it sorted out the issue.
You’re welcome!
Great thanks , I've just done that and it worked 👍👌
Thanks for the video George, I'll let you know how it goes.
Just used this tip and fixed my annoying warning flatline bleep. Thanks! 🙌
(Mercedes CLK 2003)
I got 2red dots and beep .. on my w204
@@almighty9662 same with my s class 2008; how did you fix that?
@@devmaadam2922 still not

Thanks for this mate. It’s done the trick 👍👍👍
Great tip! My jag x350 fault is fixed…thx a bunch
10/10 tip it worked on my audi Q2 which stopped beeping when put in reverse, it only had one long beep instead of the frequent beeps alerting me of distance to an object. after cleaning with wd40 it started to work as normal
Glad to hear!

Glad it helped!
Hi what Ford did u used it on?
Thank you wery much ! Good job ! Feel good video for everyone
Awesome, it helped for my lexus rx 350 2010
Great tip.
Thanks!
Gonna try this!Makes too much sense, plus I just vacuumed 8 gallons of water out of my spare tire compartment from a roof leak. (Silly Audi issues.)
Constant flatline on one of my front sensors. Tried this, problem solved. Hopefully lasts. Thanks. 👍 (Jaguar XF)
Glad to help!
Any idea if this will help if the sensor was painted over during a bumper retouching? Thanks!
Worked perfectly thanks very much 👍
You’re welcome!
Thanks for this, was going to take car to Vauxhall, saved me a fortune
Yep they would have said replace all the sensors lol
Amazed! Works perfectly
Glad it helped!
Thank you for this, sorted out my Hyundai i30 in minutes and the guys at the garage had no idea! Cheers.
Welcome Jason, usually is the case! Haha
My Tesla Model 3 was reporting that something's constantly really close to the rear left sensor, beeping and warning every time I was driving slowly.
I tried this trick, and 24 hours later it's working like normal again!
You're welcome!
Going to try this today after work!
Did it work?
@@GeorgeAusters it did not. My car has an under skirt and I can’t see them so I was hoping to try to get under there but now unfortunately not. Maybe I will try the WD40 again. I don’t have the spray bottle like you just the normal can
I've done it on my i20 and it worked, thankyou 😁😁
Great 👍
Thanks for sharing this tip, it works!
Great to hear!
One million thanks!!! The WD40 worked great!!!
Glad it helped!
This strategy worked for me multiple times until recently. Now one of my front sensors will not work regardless of WD40 use.....New sensors for my Lexus are about $250 each not including installation labour.
very informative...about to try it...fingers crossed..
Good luck!
Worked perfectly for my Hyundai Genesis Sedan! 🎉😁
Glad to hear👍🏻
Nice and simple
😊 Thanks
You’re welcome!
If you install an aftermarket parking sensors, will it pass the MOT?
EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!!
Thanks George for the tip, mine were not working, I think it was caused by left over residue from waxing. I used the WD 40 and they started beeping like a charm.
You’re welcome!
This worked for me! Thanks!
Glad to help!
Thanks 🙏 George
Thank you for saving my sanity ! The Noise was always on ! God bless !
You are so welcome!
This worked for me, parking sensors kept getting randomly triggered when there was nothing infront of the car and this solved it.
Same issue here. Going to try that fix
So you mean ur car was beebing with nothing infront ? And u use the wd40. And it is gone ? Cause i have the same issue here some time its beeebing with nothing behind and sntimes it works perfectly! So u advice me to use the same trick ?
@@ahmedradi4773 this fix stopped working shortly after. Haven't figured out a fix yet. Probably needs a trip to the garage.
@@Oscar-if6lq if this doesn't work you most likely need to replace the sensors in the bumpers
Good luck 🤞
@@ahmedradi4773 just wipe the sensor with dry clothes or dry tissue. Mine also beeps sometimes after washing.
Actually worked on my Suzuki SX4 s-cross, as well! Thank you so much for saving me 500$!!
Another good maintenance tip, good to do before any probs could materialise.
Yep definitely doing every once in a while👍🏻
worked like a dream thank you
You're welcome!
This trick worked for my ignition coil I'm down to try it on my parking sensor
Great video
Thanks for the advice it worked 👍
Glad it helped
Awesome worked a treat, thanks.
Glad to help!
Thank you!
