Sorted out the problem with my drone my hubsan like Saul on the road to Damascus "my drone was blind now it can see", and I just downloaded the latest update, failed the first time loaded the second, definitely recommend the phone is best connected to a broadband connection.
I have a problem on my new Zino 2 I just received last week and haven't even flown yet. when I go to do the update on it with my controller, quad and phone charged fully my controller battery will die within 5 minutes and I can't get it to update. Could this be a bad controller or would it be the phone connection to the quad? I've tried updating 15 times and it's doing it every time.
MrBigfoot1979 Does it drain that way without a device connected and have you tried another device and got the same results? Yes to either question is a controller with a short circuit most likely.

Hello good. Very good your video. I have a couple of questions please to see if you help me: 1) my drone fell and hit from 1 meter away and now it won't turn on. Do you think that it has simply been deconfigured and configuring the firmware again works again? 2) A basic question is if the blue light on the drone's power switch blinks when charging with the charger plugged in. I'm trying to update zino 2 to v1.2.3 and it keeps freezing. First time got to 74% froze, next two times 49% froze. Killed the remote battery every time. Now it only makes it to 16% and can't get any further.
Hello chris. I need your help. My zino 2 arrived, so i was forced to do the firmware upgrade. The RC finished succesfully, but airplane upgrade stops everytime at 49 %. I hsve done your reset ti factory settings too. But its the same again with the upgrade with the hubsan app. Do you have an idea what to do? Kind regards
Tried firmware update again today. I was prompted to update the app and format the SD card. Did that. Firmware update got to 99% quickly and got stuck. Many reattempts kept getting stuck at 16%
Hi for me it stop at 99% and its written "IT send Lost 0/155607 and the number on the left keep restarting to 0 until it goes to 155607 again and again until the controller runs out of batterry because my cellphone charges from the controller at the same time.
Dont understand if its normal. I did the upgrade from the computer without a problem but i still cant use the drone without the upgrade that is asked when I power everything on.
Finally I managed to make the update with an Ipad. So for anybody that have the same problem with the update. Try with an Apple product if you have trouble with IOS try with Android. Lost a lot of time with my Galaxy phone but with my ipad it worked.
@@QCGUY Thanks for getting back to me so fast QC...Just want to give you an update...When I was forced to do the firmware update it kept getting stuck on 16% and would never finish while using my android phone...So I had a Brain Storm...lol After trying several times with my Android phone I thought I would try using my IPad and it updated flawlessly...I do have one more question. I also have a FIMI X8 SE and I'm pretty sure you have one also, maybe even the 2020 model and was wondering if I should do the firmware updates to that bird...the Firmware that I have are as follows. Flight Control 1048I, Camera 1016A and Vision 1037C...Do you think I should update some or all of those?...Thanks again for your help, Tom A
@@tjwa103 Yes I have the 2020….If you are happy with the X8 as is then don’t touch the firmware. If you feel you aren’t happy with it then read up on the update changes and roll those dice.
all I get is a popup saying I need to update firmware. It then says my sd card doesn't have enough space. Ok.. fine. So, I'd like to format it. Problem is... the app is STUCK on the firmware upgrade popup and I can't get to the sd card format option - because firmware update popup has locked me out of all app functions. Pretty dumb...
@@QCGUY yeah. I tried that. I then opened the app and it still says not enough space. Fyi6, it's a 16gb card. There's no way the firmware is bigger than that, right?
@@QCGUY All app menus are locked out, so I can't even format the SD card if I wanted to. Formatting on windows also does no good. I don't get it. This should be very simple.
Hey QC Guy, I just received my Zino 2 and when asked to do the update the aircraft I get the disconnect on the controller and it stops downloading but it doesn't seam to reconnect and finish the download. Should I just be patient...?

Hi my name is Giulio. followed your video to update the zino's signatureware. Remote control ok. the drone has reached 99%. asked me to turn it off to continue, but once restarted it was no longer detected by the remote control. I am very worried because I have made many attempts but it does not work. I also installed the firmware from a pc, but still the drone is not detected by the remote control. help me please.
Another good video, and I like that you add the little titles when you ‘forgot’ or messed up during the video... only human. So, another question, how long does the controller battery last? It would be nice to get at least 2.5-3 flights worth out of it, it just over 2 will do for now. Can you actually charge the controller during a flight?
I don't know of a way to charge it during flight but suggest you just take a 10 minute break between flights and plug it into a power bank during that time. I will give more information on how long it is lasting in my flight videos. Thanks
Hi Chris! Got my Zino2 ....the transmitter update went as you show but the aircraft update is boogered. It will load to 10% - 50% then just hangs. I've tried reloading the app etc to no avail. Last go round I waited so long the transmitter ran out of juice. Have i got a bum Zino?
Ok....updated fine with the ipad....wish there was a way to attach this to the controller as the FPV is great. Disconnected and used my android phone. It flies fine. Don't understand the android updater glitch. Hope this helps. Enjoy your vids ....keep em coming. This is my first real camera drone
Curious as to how hot the bottom heatsink becomes while you’re doing this update. Warm to the touch? Hot to the touch? About average as compared to other drones when they get firware updates? Reason for askin: I can hear that fan buzzing away. Kind of suspected that fans on drones would be on a thermostat and not always running.
QC GUY Thank you! Good videos. I suspect the problems you’ve encountered have adversely affected enthusiasm for this budget drone. Going to optimistically attribute much of these problems to the corona virus wreaking havoc in China right now. Honestly, knowing how bad things are over there: I’ve been pleasantly surprised that you’re getting firmware update files and any support for that matter!
smokey stover I have had mine freeze up a few times now. If I never get past it I use the recovery firmware and then update again and it has worked fine for me.
hey, so when updating My tx disconnects and the update gets stuck at 49 prcent. Have already tried multiple times. For extended period of times.... Any idea what I can do? I did... the tx powered off during the update of the drone because it had no battery. After the recharge it happened...
Unknown Invictus Is it still prompting you for a unfinished update? If so fully charge everything and update again till it freezes then only reboot what is frozen like the controller in this case. I always update mine while bound to the powered on drone.

I rebooted everything. Currently charging and its late.. But I am afraid I wont sleep Till I get this thing working. Ill keep you updated, either this will work or ill toss it into the sea. lol.
@@unknowninvictus2520 This is the biggest tech flop I have been associated with. For some it works after a bunch of try's and for others they end up sending them to me to sort out. I have worked on too many of these Zino 2's already. Not good! Best of luck!!!

@@QCGUY couldnt wait a week... I got it to work. Heres how: I have no clue how. Only thing I can say is it took 35 minutes. And I pressed some random buttons: mode switch so I thought if I give input it might reconnect. I cant say if it worked or not. I think it takes a while and retry's. Id say dont listen to the tx or phone or whatever they're saying because this is also the longest attempt... I think i reset these things... For no reason and kept interrupting the update because their osd info said something else. They start to say bs on the phone and tx. Just let it run. Till ur batteries die. If u cant get it through in a full charge, then you have a serious issue. No point in restarting. Also the countless times the MD part update that repeats which has no sense, also ignore it. Let it run. That's what I can give from this first "troubleshooter" experience... Now lets hope it doesn't fly of and crash haha
Hi Chris on my Zino 2, i sorted the TOF error & Optical flow error , it was ribbon cable popped loose on mainboard, when i go to status everything Normal with no errors, 16 satelites and ready to fly, but with auto or manual take off only 1 motor spins (front B) Sorry Chris if i am posting this in wrong place ? any thoughts on my motor issue would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.
Hi Chris, i do have a doner drone which had a broken arm & camera gimble destroyed, but all 4 motors run fine, i removed x1 motor & ESC and fitted it to my other drone but although esc light flashes still just same motor runs (3 dont) as before.
@@atticman2011 I would have replaced the whole arm because you could have a internal wire break to the esc/motor. I have had them break inside the insulation but if it’s not that it just leaves you with a bad power supply board.
I failed to repair the gimbal, I did upgrade and I do not have the fpv. What am I going to do? I also tried to put a pin in the bind key and I tried to do what you did in the video, but I still have no video signal! You can

What’s the slot for underneath the right stick when you pull out the. Phone holder it’s got pins on it so what’s it for.

In most cases it's the cable from quad to gimbal and if yours is updating the IT at 49% and not going any further it's most likely the cable.

I can’t say it’s not because I have and it didn’t hurt anything. I don’t know that I would make a habit out of it.

No the drone and controller communication is a Wifi type connection and the phone or device is connected via cable not wifi or anything else.

Mark Sweeter empty the card onto a computer and restart everything with the empty card in it.

@@QCGUY I just tried another sd card. 16GB. Freshly formatted FAT32. Still says not enough space in SD card. This is just NUTS!!!!!

Hubsan Zino 2 or Fimi X8 I have the old hubsan 501 and I'm ready to purchase a new bird. Which should I buy?
Too early to compare as there are issues to work out but the X8 has already been out and working well for me anyhow so there might be your answer.

mine stops at 49 percent with a number that slowly counts up. I let it sit that way for nearly a half hour before trying to start over.

QC GUY yeah! After a couple times it froze I just removed the sd card and deleted everything on it. Tried again and went through.
QC GUY great. The Hubsan 2 app said it needed an update. Updated it and now it freezes every time it connects to the drone. iPhone XS max

Generally no motor activity means bad esc or the motor itself. Most often it’s the esc though.
