3 years on this is still a great hubsan product. I own 2 and still fly regularly. Amazing that nearly all subsequently released hubsan drones don't offer 4k @ 60 fps... The z2÷ is still a drone worth owning in 2024 (yes a week away lol)

My Hubsan zino2+ came today, and when you have it in the palm of your hand it looks superb, looks space age, you could fly it over the surface of mars, your not doing these drones justice, you should tell people how great they look in the flesh. Ps. Got to buy an SD card that works.

You had me sold on the Mini 2 but now you have me sold on this Zino 2+ even more. (Ha ha ha). I am a beginner so I kinda need something with obstacle avoidance and a return to home button just in case i mess up.
the picture quality is great, however where i live the zino is expensive, you could buy 1.3 minis for the price.

I was thinking about that one even before I ordered a new recent MJX, and now I am pretty convinced. All the complaints about Zinos spiraling uncontrollably seem to be by those who don't read the manuals, because the one I flew (an older version) was rock stable up to level 4 winds. And I really liked the camera, that Sony sensor really stepped the game up for Hubsan. Looking forward to get it before the next Christmas.
The complaints are 100% accurate, wheather you read the manual or not. I had roughly 200 flights on mine when it decided to leave me. I began the final flight with a hover at a height of about 15 feet at a distance of 40 feet. The unit became unresponsive and started gaining altitude. The screen on the controller (my Samsung cell phone) went black and the controller screen read "lost signal". The drone was less than 100 feet away. I read that if the drone loses contact with its controller, it returns home. Didn't happen. It kept gaining altitude and then toilet bowled out of sight. There was no GPS recorded on the ground controller Hubsan app or my cell phone. It just left. This happened to me with a Zino pro plus and 3 Hubsan 501s as well. It is obviously an inherent issue with all Hubsan models. Never heard of this systemic issue with DJI products.

I have a new Mini but now I'm looking at the Mini2. Just not sure if it's worth the price to get the mini2. I really want the Air2. I could get it, but I'd be eating pork and beans for a month:-) But might be worth it.

Warm Tip: If you buy a giant landing pad the return-to-home will be more accurate!
So something around 20 feet by 20 feet would’ve had the Zino 2+ landing in the pad. I have a 20 inch x 20 inch landing pad that my Mavic 2 Pro zeros in on every time.
@@keithwhisman That's nothing. My drones always end up in the same tiny ditch with water in it. Super accurate.
My bugs 4W did better on RTH than that.

I’m really leery about buying anything from Hubsan. My H501 was crap. It took off while flying and did not respond to the return to home. I had to kill the power and let it fall. Then later, it started acting up and then nothing. When I took it apart, I found a small cover inside had come loose and shorted out the circuitry. At the time, this was given a good review by another you tuber. Of course this all happened after the warranty period.
I bought a Zuni 2 plus, and I love it!

Nice review, as always. Good to see Hubsan continuing to improve their product, but exasperating when you've just bought an upgraded model and they fetch out an upgrade to the upgrade.
That is what HUBSAN does. They always release drones that are not ready for prime time, then after 6 to 8 months they fix all the problems and release an "enhanced" model that works perfectly.
That's what I was thinking of doing with my girlfriend. Waiting 6 months and getting the newer version 😂

Another great review. Such a great price for what you get, but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger because Hubsan isn't as trusted as DJI and I really like the Mini 2. I just wish the Mini 2 had the GPS follow mode.
@Greg Hensey - I am thinking of Mini 2 also. However, I think that the Mini 2 has no sensors for collision avoidance while the Zini drones do. I was flying in the wind this week, and the drone ($300 Holy Stone) I was using kept getting blown close to a building. Luckily, I was able to go up and avoid a crash while waiting for the wind to stop, but I have new appreciation for the collision sensors. Would love to hear your thoughts and also wish you lots of luck. CD really seems to know his stuff.

I’m impressed. Footage was decent. Colors, shadows, true. The GPS Track is a real + as you showed. I agree, I wish the mini 2 had any attacking. For that reason alone this might be the better drone. Who doesn’t like GPS Track?? Does the camera go above 0? Looks as though maybe 10-20 degrees.

Thank you for this video capt. It seems like zino did an upgrade in the video recording quality to have get rid of the flare at the corner of the recording. If you didn't noticed it I did.

I've sorted out the problem with my hubsan " it was blind now it can see" after I laid my hands on it, thank goodness for my laptop, wouldn't recommend no one have an expensive drone without having a PC , put the software on the SD card switched on the drone and it updated then I connected up and downloaded the latest firmware failed, but downloaded the second , great relief , definitely recommend connecting the phone to a broadband connection. So ime happy.

The Zino 2 Plus really looks to be a great quad and very nice looking too BUT try finding a spare or replacement battery for it. That is a deal breaker for me which I learned the hard way with Autel when they completely dropped support for the XStar after a few years and there aren't any batteries to be found for it. Now I have a $800 paper weight when I can find parts and batteries for my Parrot Bebop 2 everywhere and it came out the same time as the Autel XStar. I would love to get the Zino Plus 2 but don't want another expensive paper weight after a few years.

Regarding full card issue - not only fps matters but bitrate as well, and I guess bitrate of the recorded video is also impressive.

If you means is it like a DJI Drone and won't take off if you are near a restricted flight zone, the answer is no.
No drones do it outside of China except dji.
Within mainland China it becomes more complicated... I think they actually require it by law.... so autel has Geofencing but only WITHIN mainland China. Whereas outside its just a warning system not recommendimg take off in those spots but not fully grounding you
Hey Steve - Boy sure looks cold in Canada and thanks for another great video ! 2 things 1. Wondering if the Lens Flare issue on the Zino 2 has been solved ? This was one of the major problems on the first iteration & 2 do the rear sensors actually have any purpose ? ... cheers !
I have no idea about the lens flare. Rear sensors, yes, one is for position and the other for height.
The lens flare is still there but there are 3d printed camera hoods that hugely negate the flare and they are very inexpensive.

@@pdmerritt - Because although I'm an American, I live in the UK. The Hubsan US and UK sites both report Zino 2 as "sold out" in any case. And don't even show the 2+ on their sites. I ordered my 2-battery Zino 2+ from Banggood in China as it had the best price. Oddly enough, Banggood sent me a US-version Zino!!

Great video but I do have some questions. I started out a H501A. It is suppose to do waypoints with the app. However, I found that if the drone loses contact with the phone it just stops and hovers, ie. the waypoint missions are NOT autonomous. I then moved up to the H109s pro high end with the H7000 transmitter and it DOES autonomous waypoint missions plus I can swap different cameras in and out. I really love this drone and the H7000 controller but they are both heavy and bulky.
So, I have thought about getting the Zino 2/+ as it can supposedly go 8/9km but, as with the H501A, I can't see it being able complete a waypoint mission straight out 4k and then 4k back UNLESS the Zino waypoint missions ARE autonomous. So I would like to know have you tested this feature and are the waypoint missions with the Zino 2/+ autonomous or not?
Also, how far out can you maintain flight control and FPV? Does it come with a Android cable?

Wind speed would be the same as the forward speed of the drone. You never want them to cancel each other out.
