Thank you again !!! My friend !!! I have 3 batterys but 3000mAh =/
QC GUY hello! Do you have firmware gimbal v3.0.2.5 for Zino 1 ?
@@JoCieKrynca www.dropbox.com/s/2cll16wmrvr1pwz/l.zip?dl=0
QC GUY There is no gimbal firmware in this file, only the html file 😕
Right ! the Gifi battery 4200 is amazing ! more than 29 min flight time : advice for a long battery life: avoid fast charging ! 2 amp max , more , you kill the battery
Alain Legrand We 100% agree on something now buddy! 😂
@@QCGUY it is not the first time ! 😁
@@QCGUY the first day, I told you that the Hubsan 5000 battery was a shit 😎

@@infrastructure-h9b did you try the Turnigy Graphene Professional 3000mAh 3S 15C on the Zino117 , what do you think?Thank you , this is an option i have here...
I ordered one of those batteries, have been more curious about them because hubsan put out that warning. That video you did about battery management is the best for everyone. It truly is key. They are a big part to keeping our quads flying and safe. All goes back to firmware. Hubsan Zino public service announcement 😀
WORD!
Nice topic..
Since I only use the gifi batteries I don't get that warning anymore. Only when it 30% or less.. than it just say battery low but no warning about draining to fast.
Good content as always Chris!
Max Breinburg I get it using the GIFI on the pro. Drives me nuts!
@@QCGUY wow definitely downgrade the app and firmware then..
yeah, I agree battery charging is important and good battery management is vital, I may get the charger you recommend, the IMAX mini, as there is a fake equivalent which is not safe.Rob
i have removed the protection circuit inside the battery ,was no problem, desolder all smd components and bridge the negative pole over the mosfets.and i use the imax b6 balance charger with cheali-charger software. also downgrated the firmware.now for 1 year ,i am still happy with the zino.
thanks chris
I definitely getting a 4200 mah GIFI or even two of them, I want 20 + mins flight time.
@Ptyty from Malaysia as well. My Zino Pro after latest APP update (android), all 3 original 3000 mAh batteries can't fly more than 5 mins. The percentage drops rapidly and had battery warning everytime until 0%. After landing power off and on with same battery it report's 45% - latest updates had an issue with battery indication. Hubson doesn't want us to use aftermarket batteries and their move to change the code which screw's up everything. Can't fly anymore. Almost lost my drone twice. The other issue is USB disconnected without reason. I moving on to Fimi X8 SE.
nt4hx Hubsan is shooting themselves in the foot.
Another good show. Thanks Chris!
Excellent video Chris. My Zino is about two years old. I’ve never updated the firmware. Launched my Zino today and got critical battery warning and the drone literally dropped out of the sky (no damage). Did it twice. I noticed the battery seems to be swollen and fits VERY tight. The battery reading says battery is 88%. Should I buy new battery. Thanks Chris. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely!!! Be done with that battery and get a new one for sure.
Just got a new Zino (from Hubsanus) and it arrived with Firmware V1.2.04, IT 0.3.6 and Gimbal V3.0.2.5. When I downloaded the iOS app for the first time it was version 3.8.4
Guess what, the "fast drain" message still pops up, almost immediately, with both of the brand new Hubsan Batteries. I guess this new app version did nothing to help the situation. The good news is I am getting a Imax B6 v2 charger to manage my batteries and have 2 GIFIs on order.
Doug Bell The app is a problem. They need to just let us manage our batteries.
Maybe create a big boy app for us who don’t need to be told about false battery messages.
This video was very helpful. Thank you very much sir!
I ordered a Zino and I'm just waiting for the delivery someday this week. So unfortunate that I have to worry about this app BS on my 1st drone!
yeah scott the drone is awesome , just the firmware is shit .
Thanks for the info. Your channel is gold!
Nice one Chris very helpful thanks bro 😉
Hi Chris Thank you muchly for the info you give us here. I have spent many hopuirs watching drone/quadcopters, I want to learn how to fly one, but it has to be a good one. I have owned 2 small ones and found that is a waste iof time & a small easte of money
Get yourself a Mavic Mini to start with. Good starter and much less headache.
ok ive had my zino pro for a couple of months now . as far as expectations on the pro as a drone . i love it . i have had it do the 4km , with video running upto 2 km ,"i was getting a few flickers near high tension wires " but wow . i havnt seen many 2km videos on here so i was impressed . now in saying how wrapped i am in the drone . the firmware is shitting me to tears .after a few flights , its like the firmware wears out . then i start getting all the annoying messages . abnormal battery use . no usb connection . etc etc , i tried to roll back the firmware on the camera as suggested . but never had any luck . so i just used the newest firmware again . took it flying . went well . battery lasted without warning until 45% . no disconnected warnings . for a few flights . then next flight went back to crap .. ive contacted zino several times , with no reply . they are THE worst business ive tried to deal with . considering their customers are high money spenders . you'[d think they have time for us and try to help us out ..
Chris , i will try those batteries when i can afford them . i'd like to try the 5000m/h batteries to for longer flight time .
i just cant see why hubsan cant make one program for the zeno pro that works .. due to the faults in their firmware and batteries .(i know chris , you havnt lost a quad yet ) , but ive come close . i was almost 3km away and my battery power was dropping from 78% down to 50 % by the second . i was watching it drop . next thing she tells me she bringing it home . , now as you know , ive seen most of your videos lol . sometimes auto home isnt a good idea by where you took off from . so i thought ok . auto home untill its in sight then ill take over ... didnt even get in sight when she says . landing now . ohhhh noooooo . . so i cancel it , start to climb to get height back , so i can keep going forward , (landing now ) shit . cancel . climb , forward , (landing now ) next thing i s my drone too low to clear a tree n bang . big hit . walk 200 meters lol . props fukt lol one arm loose . and broke gimbal . "camera sti8ll works tho . " but wripped that gimbal wire "tape " straight off . apparently i cant just replace the gimbal , i need to get the camera attached . 120 au dollars . props are cheap 3 bucks . arm 15 bucks . all because of the dumb arse firmware or battery .. worst stack ive actually had was flipping over when i hit some grass landing once . but now my drone looks like its been to war lol . and hubsan couldnt care less .
dave rowlands I hear this story more and more unfortunately and I repair many of the Zino’s of ignored customer.
As for your gimbal you do not need to replace it. You broke the cable and need to replace it.
QC GUY I realised that after I ordered a new gimbal 170 dollars later. They know how to get you. Lol. I’m also ordering 2 gifi batteries. As yesterday the battery told me it was at 40%. So I turned around to come back from 2 km. The thing was dropping by the second. I thought no way I’ll make it back. 500 meters to go. The battery said zero. But it made it back The Zuni battery usage lies something bad. Obviously to get me to buy new batteries. So I will. But not zinos. For something so much fun. They know how to ruin it.
dave rowlands In their defense which I don’t do often it’s definitely not to get you to buy new batteries.
The whole battery tech of them adding prompts, cell meters etc is new to them all within a years time and clearly they suck at it.lol
@@QCGUY any idea when they will change firmware to get rid of the warnings and battery issues ?
@@durv13 I don't see them doing this honestly. Hubsan is trying to get into the smart battery game and these are things others do successfully with their smart batteries so they will continue frustrating us as usual.

Hi Chris I got the message too, Unusual Battery drainage, the battery that come with the drone six months ago, I am anxious and land ASAP, I've check the battery nothing unusual voltage in voltage reading, but I am curious now, are the battery really bad, pressing the battery checking any bulging etc.
Are you checking the cells after the flight when it says battery drainage and using a charger where you can check each cell in the middle of a charge to see if it is bad? More info...Thanks
@@QCGUY , The battery drainage message appear in the apps during flight, it trigger around 75% and I bring back the quad as immediately as possible though not at full speed, worried that it make matter worse, when I managed to bring it in, I didn't land it immediately , let it hover at 10 feet, checking battery % drop, the battery power drop not so fast that I can notice a significant different, The battery voltage now, 12.8 all, cell. 1* 4.23 /2* 4.29and 3*4.31
@@shaf3006 So you see the battery isn't bad and the warnings are reacting to what the app is saying not the actual battery. This is a normal ole low budget battery, nothing smart at all so they need to just keep it simple and stop trying to add more problems and annoyances. People need to put more time into learning and knowing their batteries which it sounds like you do already and stop adding training wheels like this that are worthless.
Hey Chris. As always appreciate any help you give us. I always, after a flight put my batteries on a storage charge. But what I'm really not sure of is what am I looking for as far as a voltage difference between cells that's not acceptable?
So far I do not know or have a magic number but am watch one of my 2 older batteries as the center cell is starting to show more signs. I will keep watching the cells as it charges and after flights keeping note of the drop and then have at least that to go by and pass on to others. Once mine are done with I have a very smart battery guy in my group that I am going to send them to and he is going to perform different tests to gather more information.
Hello, I am an owner of a Zino. I get battery drain warnings in one of the batteries. Specifically it gets from 85% to 10% in about 2 minutes and autolands. When I restart the application it shows about 60% left in the same battery.I bought a bmax balance charger an the voltage in each cell is about 4,1. Any ideas of what could the issue be?
You most likely have a cell going bad...Look at my battery management video with the imax.
The voltage reading on my zino (or the app) seems off. It says the voltage is 4200v then dropped to 700v and keeps repeating but the battery percentage seems to be doing its job just fine. I measured the battery voltage with my multimeter and it seems fine (11.4v at 20% last time i checked). I thought this was caused by the battery, so i swapped it with another battery and it's still doing the same thing. I updated the firmware as you said in this video. My question is, why is the app displaying the wrong voltage?
edit : just found out the answer, it was a firmware issue. i updated the firmware to 1.2.08 (it was 1.1.52) and it seems to display the correct voltage now
Delete the app, reinstall and then rebind the quad through the bind button on the side.
@@QCGUY how do i unbind the quad? I reinstalled the app, connected the controller then the quad already binded just like before i reinstalled the app. The voltage reading is also the same as before
@@Mankuwa join my group on Facebook. I can’t troubleshoot in this format but make a video to show better. Thanks
By the way, i saw a yt film there a Zino fight in hard wind at sea. Owner lost his craft but Zino fight all the way down to 8.1v. Then i look at videos there people try range test with Zino i can see 0% left and about 10.2v left. This means that you properly can fly for 2-3 more minutes 🙂 Maybe battery will be damage after a while?
// thanks from Sweden
Thanks for the advice. I currently have FC_V1.2.0.1, G_3.0.2.4, IT_V0.3.6 and it seems to work well “for now.” Are your recommendations for the FC 1.1.5.2 and Gimbal 3.0.2.2 something that I should consider rolling back on? I feel a bit adamant about having to do any firmware updates, that’s why I ask. Thanks again.
If you are happy with it stick with it. There is nothing added after 1.1.52 that I need so I stick with it. After every update I went right back to it. It's the most favored I thing but if your happy just leave it and be safe.

Any ideas about this one????
Two fallen angel crashes with Zino1.
Two different batteries.
Good flights over water in between... (Jammy!)

Gimbal suddenly flicks up to top corner.
Gimbal warning comes on screen.
Seems to start coming home.
Crash lands.
Position read out still updating (so easy to find drone).
Drone lights still on.

Please let me know what firmware versions in your opinion are the best for ZINO and how to downgrade? do I have to downgrade the controller as well? I swear not to update any more
What FC, Gimbal and IT versions do you have? It shows the versions in the app.
check also , the balance after a flight!
2023 3 years later is there a new firmware update available for Zino h117s with FC 1.1.52 ?
Hey Chris Ray here. Should I get a couple a couple of these batteries now? And where is the best place to get?

So far they are performing just fine for people so I don't see any harm in getting them at all. I like mine and will be getting more.
Don't forget, when you retire those batteries, I'm still waiting to get my hands on one or two to run bench tests.
I did forget but made a note...lol I need to use one of them more and try to move it along faster. Sorry
I was a victim of the center cell, voltage drop, Zino plunge on my Z1. This should not be a problem with the Z2 correct?
B, C, and the F K. Bob, Cyndi, and the Foster Kids
Can’t predict that one. This battery in my opinion/guessing is not smart and the per cell readings in the app are always too dead on to be pin point accurate.

My hubsan zino battery when charging blinks in reds. Not soild. It blinks. I did updated my zino firmware and app and all things recently. After that this happened. When I tried to fly however, it fall down after a minute or less. I really don't understand that is it a issue with that update or my battery is really dead. I got all these warnings after the update...then my quad dropped out of the sky. Luckily it was only about 8' above the ground.

QC GUY I don’t fly a lot. The last time I went out to fly it wouldn’t let me until I did the firmware update. Ever since, I’ve been getting the battery warnings. I’m not sure if it falling out if the sky was related or a bad cell...I’m thinking bad cell.

I bought a Zino Pro and had battery issues right from the get go, with a max battery life of about 12 minutes. I don't really give a shit if it's giving a false alarm or now, if I can't depend on it I wont use it.
i do have stock firmware, and ap up to date, and zino drops batery level from 50 to 5 in 30 seconds then pretend to do emergency landing with quite dangerous tendency to not allow instant take over by pilot and trying to land in "starting point" but flying in some random directions... be carefull with cheap chinese toys ...
Hi Chris! i wanna ask you something, i'm still with all the versions you mentioned, but, i'm an Android user and all X-Hubsan apps prior to version 1.7.6, doesn't recognize the Google Maps anymore.
Is it a problem to fly without them? (aside for the various automatic fly mode)
Or is something the drone need to have? for example RTH?
Thank you in adcance
This has been a topic in my group and not the case for all. I have seen there are setting you can change for some and maybe not a problem for ios but more so for android. Join if you haven't already. facebook.com/groups/HubsanQC
Something in their app firmware is not right. Hopefully Hubsan knows it and fixes it.
I have one 4200 battery that drops very quickly then reads 0% (with seriously low warnings) around 12 minutes of flight. when I bring it back to the charger 3.96 3.94 3.95v. If I power the zino up again. The app reads 60% charge. My other 4200 is still performing easy 25 minute flights with no warnings. Whats causing this and how do I salvage this seemingly good battery?
Sounds like a bad cell to me...
Hello Chris , thank you for your excellent content on the Zino series of drones. Can you clarify something for me please? I am expieriencing the battery draining quickly scenario with my Zino Pro. My battries are all perfect as i check the cells regularly . I am running up to date app and firmware versions. Which android app version should i revert back to? and is it also neccessary to revert back to the firmware version you refer to, ie 1.1.52 , or is this only applicable to the original Zino and not the Pro version. Is it the App thats the problem or is a combination of App and firmware?
Also just as a side note, im one of the many people who have cancelled their Zino 2 order from Gearbest. Dont get me started on that. I will definately pick one up, but will leave it for a while until the teething problems are sorted. Thanks again. I watch all your videos and of course ive subscribed long ago.
For the pro you don't have much to revert back to as it is not so old and you want to be on the latest or no older then the versions prior to that which I would need to look up to tell you but it is applicable for the pro just like the original with the difference being you don't have anything good to go back to. I know my batteries and I ignore the app for the most part which I think most are doing as well so it's useless in my opinion.
@@QCGUY Thank you very much for your reply. I have been ignoring the battery warnings also. Like yourself , i find it annoying. I think i will experiment a little and go back maybe two versions of the App just to see how it reacts. I will leave the firmware alone. Thanks again Chris and keep up the good work. P.S. I have ordered the Gifi 4200 mah battery from China. Who knows how long it will take to arrive as the coronavirus has disrupted everything. This is trivial in the scheme of things,as the effect the virus is having on peoples health is much more serious . Its starting to take hold here in Ireland now also.
I received my Zino 2 today. Charging controller and battery now. Ordered 12/15/19. First time Zino 2 owner, should I do all the updates. Advice appreciated
Are they giving you a choice to update? So far everyone has been forced so it all depends once you connect it all. I do recommend you do a horizontal calibration on a flat level surface. Compass calibration before you fly for the first time but not till you are where you are going to fly.
@@QCGUY Very good , thanks

I wanted to do this another time so here I are. Is these many hours of reading reviews there is LITTLE talk about the batteries and the charging them, the charging them is mostly USB ahich I find is useless. I know a lot them , I was one of the fiurst guys who bot my RC batts from a CA company they Still call it COMMON SENSE BATTERY, they ar now a good sized CO, I invite you to look them up online, If I get a good Drone I will try to use their Batts. My airplane batts are over 3 & 4 yrs old and they still fly very well, I keep them ballences charged. T U Keith
LINK?
Regardless of Common Sense RC having good batteries or not, they don't make any with the hard shell around them to fit the Zino, so you'd be forced to try and modify a different style battery pack to use with the Zino. Chris has done such a mod before, but I doubt most Zino owners would go that direction unless they have a very hard time getting a Hubsan Zino original battery or one of the Gifi batteries. Chris, I'm pretty sure the company Keith refers to is www.commonsenserc.com/

So this advice with battery and firmware is for original Zino, not the Zino 2 right? Also I flew my Zino 2 today and it was great.
N/A for the Zino 2 for a few reasons. First we need to give that one time. Thanks
Any idea to roll back to old firmware? This battery nonsense and emergency landing 700m away in bushes is rather annoying, before update all good now if I have 5-9 Min flight I'm lucky.
dxe11 You can’t because it forces you to update to the latest.
I finally cancelled my order from gearbest I will wait until Zino 2 solve all its issues

What charge rate do you recommend for the GiFi batteries? 2..3..4 amps?
Foxmino J Depends on which cable you have. Older Zino cables were thinner so 2.0amps but the newer thicker one that came with the Zino Pro I am doing 3.0amps. I wouldn’t go for 4.2amps. Maybe 3.5amps max with the thicker but checking to see if the cable gets too warm at the same time.
Hi Chris, I search your videos on battery and I found this is the latest, I want to ask , I've four batteries and most I bought from my local supplier, two weeks ago I ordered and received one from China and the alphabet, writting are blue on black background, wheres the other all white, other, shape, connector etc. seems to be similar to my older batteries, except there's no serial number printed on it, do you think it is a fake or recycle battery ? Ok thanks
I had this issue where I was about 3000 feet out and it said battery draining and high voltage, land immediately. Is there anything I can do to fix it?
Aidan Prucher25 First you need to make sure you don’t have a battery going bad. The center cell is usually the first to go and causes a sudden drop which gives you this message to help you.
Problem is it gives false warnings as well.
Test other batteries and check your cells while it’s charging if you have a good hobby grade charger.
QC GUY thanks I’m pretty sure it’s false warning because it dropped up to 40 percent within 3 seconds and I just ordered the drone
Aidan Prucher25 Drops to that percentage fast and then the rest slowly with no real flight time then correct? That’s what mine did...

Alex G You got it! No worries, I get the notification if you comment once.
Hi, I am a victim of this, my Zino fell from the sky. Will the Gifi 4200mah battery fix this problem?
TCI Beat Records If it fell from the sky you most likely had a bad cell. A gifi helps because it doesn’t put the battery into a shut down protection state.
QC GUY much appreciated. Thanks
I just turned off the auto update on my phone unfortunately I downloaded the newest app version for my pro ugh....
Scott
It happens... I have mine off but still update as curiosity wins.
@@QCGUY I've noticed that it says USB is connected off and on I've only flewn it total for almost 90 minutes
@@scott1923 Hi. The problem is the plug to controller . Cut off the raised plastic its causing the connection to disconnect. Hubsan made video on problem. Hope this helps answer your question
@@WilliamHorsley1962 thanks I'll try and find it
Hi im using android. And i have this damn inaccurate battery readings as well. What app version does hace the best work?
Elihu Dungog On iOS it’s 3.8.0 but I don’t know which for Android. Look at the version history and go back 5 months. That will be your happy place. 😊
@@QCGUY tried it but the app itself will prompt to be updated. Sad
@@elihudungog1668 when you put aeroplane mode and then open the app ,youll be ok
Bro,,can u try zino 2 in door flight test,,,,
Most of the Zino quads I fixed are from people doing just that and crashing. Don't fly this quad indoors please....
@@QCGUY ok.👍👍👍
.
Its makes no sense keeping this Quad if the updates are no good....
Updates aren’t always updates. Sometimes they are downgrades which is where you install the best version, leave it alone and enjoy it. 👍
Hi Chris. I hope everything is fine. I'm having that issue you've said in the video. I updated my app to 1.7.9 and the battery seem to be drained during the flight. Do you or anyone know where can I download older versions of the app and what is the best version to download? Thanks for all these good information.
Hi. I've found this one: apkpure.com/br/x-hubsan/com.csk.hbsdrone/versions
Which app version do you recommend?
Hubsan just should fix it.
Kudos too Hubsan🤣😃😅😁
Mike Kinney 😂 Yes they really have made great advancements with the little zino.
Hey maybe you can help me i love the hubsan zino but on my videos i got on the left side bit blurred and on the right side realy good sharp can u tell me how i can fix this?
my updates:
FC 1.1.52.
IT 0.3.6
Gimbal 3.0.2.8 < cause 3.0.2.2 didnt works on my zino.
my never upgrades my transmitter (the controller) do i have to do that?
VapingPanda If it’s always been like this it sounds like the lens is out of focus and needs turned. Not a easy or fun thing to deal with but all it takes usually is the smallest turn clockwise.
“I don’t know, quadcopter” put out a video on this today and he has been downgrading the firmware back to March 2019 to see if it fixes it.. of course it doesn’t as as you say it’s the app!! It’s quite simple really he made video and tested 3 firmwares and still “Doesn’t know” 😂🤣.. complete waste of time!
Kevin Pain Wait!!! Now if I made a firmware update video when this was introduced and nothing happened because the app update wasn’t released yet wouldn’t that tell me something? FFS!!!
@@QCGUY It would tell you, but apparently not I Q copter,😣😣
ill give you the best fix of this problem. BUY FIMI X8!
I agree but mine is down after putting it away in perfect working condition. Waiting for FIMI to respond with a suggestion.
@@QCGUY what happened to your Fimi x8? I didn't understand.
Such a promising drone. I was excited about this one. But then that voice in my head said.. WAIT !!! It's Hubsan. Horrible support. No QC or maybe one person but, he's on vacation lol. I've bricked 2 Hubsan drones. Both stock battery failures. Had one drone about 1 week. Then I was dumb enough to buy another thinking it was a fluke. Nope that one fell out of the sky after 2 1/2 weeks. I will be giving data a little more time on this one. Hubsan's history of QC is infamous !!
Hey Team. Just wanted to know if anyone had the firmware to download which has been recommended? Thanks
Most every firmware version can be found in my group. facebook.com/groups/HubsanQC/?ref=share_group_link
